I have listened to this probably a good 5o times. My school is doing Annie Get your gun.... ( I would like to be Annie) and I just love the way she sings\acts, this song and all the other songs. Fantastic ^^^
But he won't buy pajamas for pistol packin' mamas xD LMAO favourite line!
Amazing voice! It's incredibly hard to sing with such a strong(forced) accent and still hit the right notes/make it sound good! One of the best annies I've seen! Good job!!
@CRISisHOT Who cares if the lyrics are wrong! for gods sake she is seamless in her performance. The importance is in the delivery. Her delivery is FLAWLESS, Timing FLAWLESS, Energy FLAWLESS. Voice is perfect for the song... not over sung, not to "Pretty" belted in the right places. She is wonderful.
You're all forgetting about the greatest "ANNIE GET YOUR GUN" songstress.... ETHEL MERMAN, the gal for whom this show & music was originally written by the incomparable Irving Berlin!!! Ethel could belt & sell a song better than anyone. Others pale in comparison to this great lady of the American Musical Theatre.

@linette1995 I agree about Reba's superior vocals, but this song needs more than just vocals. Jamie has great vocals and teams it with amazing interpretation and acting skills. It's hard to beat that combination.
Reba is absolutely fabulous. We had very different interpretations of this song. I chose to make it gritty with a thick accent so that I would have somewhere to go vocally when Annie becomes more refined at the end of the musical. There is no one like Reba. She is definitely someone I look up to and aspire to be like. :)
@AmericaLoudNClear I like to keep an open mind, so I went to look at this other person you raved about. I was less impressed. Stage presence and movement, actual vocal notes, costume choices--not my cup of tea. I admit, I'm not easily impressed and hypercritical with female singers, and I'm more impressed with Jamie's performance than any I've seen recently. BTW, there is no need to curse on a board if you are so concerned with the audience.
@AmericaLoudNClear With all due respect, why is it a big to point a gun at the audience. I can see if you are like pointing at one specific person but if you just point it to the back wall and it isn't in a mean way then I just don't understand. I would like to know though. Thanks!
@ugha323a I am sorry that I didn't know something. I haven't done many shows with guns that weren't just cap guns. We don't use buckshot in out guns, I guess for safety reasons, so I didn't know. Sorry. I know I'm not an expert, I have a ton to learn. I am glad I learned this today. Thanks! :')
@ugha323a That gun is completely incapable of firing anything!!! LOL! Do you actually think they would give anything close to a weapon to an actor? I was there... no firing pin and the barrel is plugged!!! It is ubsurd to think the audience was afraid of that gun!:) LOL!

Hi! This is an amazing performance. Where did you get the accompaniment to this version of the song? I love it. I'd like to buy it. It sounds like a modified Reba version, but I can't even find Reba's version. Like yours very much!!
dangg she does REALLY good at this song!!! i wish i could do this well!!! haha. i'm using this song in my thespian competition in march. wish me luck!!! haha
No higher praise possible: Barbara Cook says Reba was so wonderful as Annie that she went to several shows just to see her. ANd this was after Reba took over from Bernadette Peters in the role!
FANTASTIC!!!!

It's refreshing to see someone who is the correct age playing Annie, not that Roberta Peters or Reba McEntire aren't wonderful performers.

No, this is not the 'best performance' in a portrayal of Annie Oakley, Paulette Anne Dittinger is the best.
What the hell was wrong with the director, you DO NOT point a gun at the audience.
She is good, but thats about it, just good, not outstanding.

I think this performance is outstanding. I guess it is just a matter of opinion

@crazyforfire
The guns that they use in these shows are filled with buckshot.
It can harm a person, they can end up in the hospital.
I thought you were the "expert" on Theatre, and you didnt know that??
lol.
Please..
