The most important thing in the world is to be born again of the water and the spirit. which is baptism in the name of Jesus and the infilling of the holy ghost, with the evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue as the spirit of God gives the utterance. Its people that don't have revelation that only post part of that mans sermon and twist it with their own opinions and out of context scripture, instead of basing it on the entire word of God. the grace of God to be baptized and filled!READMORE
@cowboy211100 "to be born again of the water and the spirit. which is baptism in the name of Jesus and the infilling of the holy ghost, with the evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue as the spirit of God gives the utterance"
CIRCULAR REASONING! How can you maintain the part about tongues when Paul:
Baptizim in the name of Jesus is the only true way of baptizim! Not by titles of the father son and holy spirit.... but through the only saving name "Jesus"
Baptizim in the name of Jesus is the only true way of baptizim! Not by titles of the father son and holy spirit.... but through the only saving name "Jesus"
Yes i totally agree that the father calls us. But what if he calls us and we don't act upon it are we still saved?? How do we get are sins forgiven??
The bible says in Acts 2:38 to be baptized in Jesus name is how we get our sins forgiven so we can't stand in front of God without our sins forgiven.
1 John 2:12 For His name sake we are forgiven our sins and how else do we get his name upon us, not just a prayer but baptism which proceeds from repentance.
-Yes Romans chapter 6 explains baptism and Acts 4:12 tells us that it has to be in the name of JesusChrist.
-Romans 8:9 says that if we don't have the spirit of Christ we are not of him.
-The tounges thing is the fact that when you speak in tounges you have evidence of the Holy Spirit because otherwise how else how would we know we have it with our human knowledge. So if your just guessing you have the Holy Spirit then your really not sure, so yes you speaking in tounges is the evidence.
@MrPentecostal93 "otherwise how else how would we know we have it with our human knowledge"
Because Jesus said clearly in John 6:44 "No man CAN come to me, except the Father who sent him draw him..."
Have you come to Jesus for salvation? If so either the Father drew you OR Jesus lied. You choose. Now don't tell again tongues are the EXCLUSIVE evidence of having he Holy Spirit. The Father draws through the Holy Spirit.
examine the book of Acts, when the church preached to sinners they told them to repent, they baptized them and made sure they recieved the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38 was to sinners who asked what was it they needed to do to be saved. Peter didn't say just pray a prayer or believe but told them to repent, to be baptized in JesusChrist name, and that they will recieve the Holy Spirit.
Believing = Obeying, obey scriptue and believe it.
ok ok. if you are stating scripture of the Bible when Paul writes to the churches and says things like call upon the name of the Lord or just believe you will be saved that is true. But who is he writing it to? to the church people who have already repented, been baptized, and recieved the Holy Spirit. through those epistles Paul talks about baptism and the Holy Spirit and how its essential.
@bigfanofgod "The word baptizm means to die and be born again we got to let our old selfs die in order to be born again, read John chapter 3 and acts 2:38"
No es cierto. La palabra bautizo en El Griego significa mojar, bautizar, o limpiar.
(John 3:5) Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ This IS the New Birth...
@66thPsalm Yes Jesus DID say that. He went on to say "but he that BELIEVETH not shall be damned." Our Lord did NOT say, however, that he is is NOT BAPTIZED is damned. God bless you folks and have a happy,
@yourfriendcaleb "baptized in jesus name only....but some say believe and ye shall be saved,,not........satan believes is he saved!!!"
Believe it or not, THIS is an argument I have to deal with ALL the time. Does Satan really believe the gospel? Of course he does. He wouldn't fight it so hard if he didn't. But he also knows full well that Christ did NOT die for angels, demons, animals, flowers, etc... He died for His elect and they are ALL men. So Satan knows correct theology, BIG DEAL! GBU
The Bible and its completeness is there for a reason, believing is most important because it leads one to follow Christ not just stop. In scriptures it says even devils believe so my point is not to argue but I hope that you see as I do Chirst is the one we serve and should obey and his word.
12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13 Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
Just look what Jesus told the apostles to do find the scriptures I will give you a hint...Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, and what did Jesus say to do, that was when he was walking among men did he say maybe you should, or if you want to blank do it it is an option. Well? The verse come from Mathew now the day of pentecost came what was apostle Peter's message in Acts 2: 36-47 say? What did Peter tell them to do so the promise of The Holy Ghost is not a reason to be overjoyed?
@brimarie1981 says "Just look what Jesus told the apostles to do..."
Yes! Just LOOK at what Jesus said in John 6:40 He said the will of the FATHER wa that everyone who came to Him and BELIEVED on Him would have everlasting life. He did NOT say who believed and was baptized. He did NOT say who believed and spoke in tongues. He did NOT say he who believed and used the King James version of the Bible, wore weird clothes, didn't cut their hear if they were women or wear beards if they were men...
@Blogrich55 Read Romans 6:1-14 did not Paul write this? He is talking about being baptized into the death so that just a Christ died was burried and rose again so we must then consider ourselves dead unto sin. It is not by our own works but because Christ died for us and lives in us who have believed. There are false prophets out there and other then that Paul confirmed baptism. We can discuss this matter through messages if you want but search the scripute in its truth and entirety. God bless!
Please put that preacher back on because baptism comes after believing, repenting and following what Jesus said to do Acts 2 :38. So are you saying to enter in at another door not through the door Jesus said to enter in. If you believe then you obey. Peter did not say pray this prayer believe and you are saved, Jesus did not say just go out and preach he said to preach n baptize but obvioudly what Jesus said is not critical to you because if it was you would not doubt or take it out of scripture
@brimarie1981 says "So are you saying to enter in at another door not through the door Jesus said to enter in..."
Obviously the words of your leaders mean more than those of Jesus. He said that HE HIMSELF was the way NOT baptism! We are saved by grace through faith ALONE and NOT by faith and works! Yes, baptism is a work. It is commanded by Jesus but NOT essential to salvation. "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Paul did NOT say believe, be baptized, speak in tongues...
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore[a] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them so those are the words out of Jesus mouth. Believing, repenting is what start a relationship then one doesn't just stop that relationship. Cont-
they are so stuck on this teaching that they make it the greatest thing...they feel they have unlocked a great Truth...look at them clapping for false doctrine!
@aTrueHybrid Perhaps your time would be better spent presenting what YOU believe than trying to act like an apologist for others. So if it is true that "the facts remain they have a lot more scripture to support their theology" than I, then WHY don't you believe them. I will tell you:
1. Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
2. When a concept, idea, or doctrine is ONLY close to being true it is FALSE. If you thought they WERE right, you should follow them but obviously don't!
@aTrueHybrid If you knew the MULTITUDE of times I have had to go into this with others, you might be a little more understanding. Let me give you a humorous example from scripture:
1. Judas went out and hung himself. 2. Go and do thou likewise. 3. What thou doest, do quickly.
This is the SORT of faulty theological slapping together of verses I refer to. Do I REALLY have to disconnect the dots? You are taking unrelated verses and putting them together to try to prove a false doctrine. Sorry!
@aTrueHybrid I do not, frankly, have time in these short comments to "disconnect the dots" of the scriptures you have slapped together eisegetically to "prove" your point. They do NOT add up. Sorry.
@aTrueHybrid Scripture DOES say Jesus commanded them to baptize in the Triune formula. What is the name, held in common, by the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost? It is YHWH. Just because the word Trinity is not in Bible does NOT mean the concept or doctrine is not either. We teach the Truth because it is what we are commanded to do.
@aTrueHybrid "Scripture does not say the name of Jesus is His authority."
I was saying that the phrase "in the name of" means "by the authority of" and NOT that the name Jesus somehow, magically, is authoritative. It represents Jesus. He is the one who authority is being invoked.
Your assertion that the Apostles NEVER used the "Triune formula" is speculative and is dependent upon an argument from silence. If they did NOT baptize in the Triune names as Jesus said to, they were disobedient!
@aTrueHybrid My fruit is amazing too but then MINE is the perfect obedience that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rendered to the law of God. By faith alone it is MINE. God the Father declares me righteous NOT on the basis of my own PERSONAL fruit but on THAT of His Son Jesus put on MY account by faith alone. This is the ONLY fruit I will lay at God's feet on that day. Toplady's old hymn says it best: NOTHING in my hands I bring, simply to THY CROSS I cling. Our righteousness is as filthy rags.
@aTrueHybrid Humility NEVER saved anyone. In Bible college (Trinitarian Pentecostal) they used to joke that, other than lions, WORMS were the only animal that traveled in prides. Hence, they joked, the pride of worms.
@aTrueHybrid I would be very helpful IF you would explain how you differ from them on your doctrine of God. You say you are Oneness but NOT Jesus only. WHAT do you believe? Maybe we should start there first.
@aTrueHybrid "Seems"?? We don't get doctrine from what seems to be. How the Apostles baptized and claiming they NEVER used the trinitarian formula COMMANDED by Jesus is speculative at best. It is based upon a futile argument from silence. The NAME of Jesus merely means His authority NOT literally His name.
@aTrueHybrid freely admits, "scripture does not say so, but..." WELL, if scripture does NOT say so WE have NO right teaching it. What right do we have preaching false doctrines and eisegetic concepts that "put many into bondage and others into pride"? We are NOT to add to or take away from God's word.
@aTrueHybrid Evidently they don't understand metaphorical language. Jesus said He was the bread of life too. Is He rye, white, or whole wheat? Oh, I know, He must be a loaf of Wonder Bread because He has done such wonderous things for me. Metaphorical language!
Everyone that views this video or reads these comments. Please realize that God WILL judge you no matter what you do or don't know. Having FAITH in God means that you believe what he says is True. It means that you will take all of his Word as life, and even more, life everlasting. God is NOT trying to trick his people. He speaks plainly to you and is telling you what to do through his word. The great commission was given to the Apostles. The Apostles preached Acts 2:38.
@tldillard3 Anyone who views this video will see a misguided Apostolic preacher proclaiming loudly and boldly that the GREATEST THING is to be baptized in the name of Jesus! Well that is NOT the greatest thing. The greatest thing is to be cleansed of our sins by the blood of Jesus Christ and declared righteous by His Father by faith alone. Faith without works is dead but faith PLUS works is Roman Catholic dogma and will lead to the damnation of your soul! Baptism is a WORK.
@Blogrich55 I beg to differ. While I don't believe the GREATEST THING is to be baptized in the Name of Jesus, it doesn't take away from the fact that you HAVE to be baptized in the name of Jesus. Whether you agree or not sir. Baptism is not a work. It's an act of obedience. You are not doing anything but obeying.
Let's look at it this way.
The Bible DOES say that you have to be baptized. Where does the Bible say you don't? No opinions, show me scripture.
@tldillard3 Theo you said, "...you HAVE to be baptized in the name of Jesus." You deny it is a work but THEN assert "It's an act of obedience." And would mind explaining the difference between an act and a work?
The Bible NEVER says you HAVE to be baptized. Baptism is NOT essential to salvation. BUT if it WERE, the baptism of Jesus AS WELL AS His death is MINE by faith. Whatever DUTY I owe God, Jesus performed it. HIS obedience is MINE by faith. THIS is justification by FAITH ALONE. Sola Fide!
@Blogrich55 When I speak of baptism not being a work. It's in reference specifically to the scripture you are referring to in Romans. Where, as is true, we are NOT saved by the works of the Law. This is because the law could not save us. However, this is not the works of the law such as Circumcision which is what the writer was specifically talking about.
@Blogrich55 You keep saying that the baptism is not essential to salvation. 1 Peter 3:21
21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
This isn't confusing at all. It clearly states that baptism saves us. I want you to understand that through faith we are saved. However, our faith MOVES us to obedience to God's word. Else it's not faith.
@tldillard3 So you believe in the damnable heresy of baptismal regeneration? The point is CLEAR it is not OUR obedience that justifies us by His. If baptism WERE needed to go to heaven, by faith, His baptism would be ours. NONE of our personal works of obedience contribute ONE IOTA to our salvation. It is NOT synergistic. Quit teaching damnable Roman Catholic heresy and get saved sir!
@Blogrich55 Damnable Heresy of baptismal regeneration??? You keep repeating this and not answering to the scripture that is clear. Baptism saves you. Also, you are exchanging words in places that they should not be exchanged. Obedience is NOT the same as righteousness, nor is Justification the same as the others.
Philippians 2:12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
@tldillard3 wrote, "Baptism saves you." If this is what you REALLY believe, I must seriously question your salvation or the credibility of your profession sir. As to exchanging words, do you REALLY fail to understand that Christ's OBEDIENCE to God's law WAS His righteousness? Remember it says work OUT not work FOR!
@Blogrich55 You continue to neglect the scripture that says it. I'm not saying anything the scripture doesn't say. I gave you the scripture sir. Give me scripture that Christ's OBEDIENCE to God's law WAS his righteousness.
You said you don't have to work. You do have to work. You don't have to work for it, it is a gift. But you do have to work. Baptism is an operation of faith. That's what the Bible says.
@Blogrich55 Philippians 2:12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Romans 5:9
9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
@tldillard3 Yes and NOTE WELL it says WORK OUT and NOT work FOR your own salvation and, if you continue the sentence into verse 13 it says "For it is God who works in you both to will and do of His good pleasure." Like ALL Roman Catholics before, Pentecostals and Apostolics CONFUSE justification and sanctification. We are justified or declared righteous by God the Father by faith ALONE. The Holy Spirit works His sanctifying work within us daily conforming us to the image of Jesus Christ!
@Blogrich55 You do not have to work for your salvation. But you do have to work. That is what i'm saying. You said specifically that we don't have to work. The scripture says opposite. Yeah. Exactly, through the Holy Ghost God teaches you equips you in how to work out your salvation.
Justification is a legal word. It has to do with the legal ramiffications of Adam's actions. Adam sinned and the penalty was death. We were born under that penalty. cont...
@Blogrich55 and now Jesus died to pay the price for that penalty or to appease God. Now through his blood we can be Justified. But the blood is only applied to those that are IN Christ Jesus.
@Blogrich55 Our obedience has everything to do with our salvation. Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Here is a scripture where clearly the two have a direct correlation to one another.
@tldillard3 wrote "Our obedience has everything to do with our salvation." Spoken like a good little Roman Catholic heretic. The Pope is smiling his anti-christ smile on you right now my son.
@Blogrich55 LOL!!! Wow. You continue to glide past actually conversing with me about what I'm saying. Rather, you tend to just bash it. I am NOT in agreement with the catholic doctrine. The scripture i'm referring to is right above your statement. Eternal Salvation is only for those that Obey. Not my words. God's words.
@Blogrich55 The whole DUTY of man is to fear God and keep his commandments. He commanded us to be baptized. Jesus' is obedience is not yours by faith. You have to be obedient for yourself. Please show me one scripture that says that Jesus' obedience is yours by faith.
Again, you have skipped over my scriptural references and have declined to reply to them. If you look at Hebrews 11 you will see that faith is not just speaking the word. It is moving in fear and obedience to what God says
@tldillard3 says, "Jesus' is obedience is not yours by faith. You have to be obedient for yourself. Please show me one scripture that says that Jesus' obedience is yours by faith."
"and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ the RIGHTEOUSNESS which is from God by faith;" Phil 3:9
Apostolics do NOT understand the doctrine of justification by faith ALONE. Luther and Calvin said it was the foundation of the faith!
@Blogrich55 This scripture you quoted does not say that HIS obedience is yours by faith. It's speaking of Righeousness, being put in right standing with God. That is correct. I asked where the Bible states that Jesus' obedience is ours by faith as you stated.
@tldillard3 I cannot help it is simple exegesis and proper hermeneutics are beyond you. READ it in context! To save space I zeroed in on verse 9. THEN read the WHOLE book of Romans and remember, "NOT by works of righteousness..." and maybe you should get on your knees and meditate on His righteousness and read Isaiah 61:10 a few times until it sinks in. I realize I am being rude right now. I apologize but you have PUSHED me to the limit with your blind WORKS RELIGION! I do preach baptism!
@Blogrich55 Wow. LOL!! I did read it in context sir. What was said that was out of context. Please explain. Right now all I hear is bashing. It's funny that you brought up Isaiah 61:10. Please explain how you put on the garments of salvation if all you have to do is have faith.
@Blogrich55 Furthermore, let's look further into the scripture you posted:
9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
@Blogrich55 The scripture says being made conformable to his death. How do you do that. It's through baptism in his name. I'm telling you sir. There is scripture regarding baptism all throughout the Bible.
In the end... everyone will have to answer to God. At this time you will be able to explain to God why you didn't just do what he asked. It's not hard... nor is it grievous. All God is asking is for you to die in him through baptism and to let him fill you with his spirit. What's wrong with that? What will you tell God when he asks you why you didn't? What if you're wrong?
@tldillard3 No YOU will have to explain to God why you added your pathetic works to His glorious grace. Believe the gospel and you will be saved! It is NOT the gospel + your works. Salvation is by faith ALONE. God doesn't need YOU to LET Him do anything! He draws His elect sheep to Jesus by the power of His Holy Spirit! They come without fail and will NEVER perish.
"Jesus answered and said unto them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him who He sent." John 6:29 Get it? Got it?Good!
@Blogrich55 WOW!!! I thought we were having a very civil conversation. The rudeness is unnecessary. I'm not adding. It's rightly dividing. Every truth must be established by two mouths. Line upon line, precept upon precept. What you hold as truth should be confirmed somewhere else in the Bible.
Faith is not merely believing. Where do you see that in the bible? Where does the Bible show you faith without action? Ok, let me help. Look at Hebrews 11. The whole chapter.
@tldillard3 You are right in the fact that I can be sarcastic, rude, obnoxious and very carnal at times. HOWEVER pointing out that someone has added to the Bible with their doctrine is NOT rude. Yes, faith is belief. Works are the effect of saving faith (n matter how small they might be) and NOT part of it.
12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
I didn't add to the scripture my friend. Jesus gave the commission to the Apostles. The Apostles fulfill it in Acts. So did they do wrong. Should they just have repeated Jesus as many do today. No. The power of salvation is in the name that saves.
Matt.28:19 How can Oneness say this is wrong & not right when this same scripture is in the Bible they read & study and say it's the true and accurate word of God? And what about the guy Jesus saved on the cross. He wasn't even water baptized. And you can't say it wasn't required @ that time because John The Baptist had already came and was killed long before Jesus died on the cross. Maybe they need to write their own Bible just like all the other occults do!
@fifi1376 According to my good friend and brother Mark Aponte (October31st1517) They already have their own translation: the New Oneness Translation or NOT. LOL
I myself have heard of another: the Apostolic Interlinear New Testament or AIN'T LOL
either way you look at it, they do NOT follow God's Holy Word the Bible but add works to grace. God bless you.
@Blogrich55 Yes I've heard of the Interlinear translation. Haven't heard of the New Oneness Translation. Most Oneness believe in the King James Version only. Which is good, but since they have their own translation away for the REAL Word of God, makes them an occult. It's just sad! I pray for them and for God to open their eyes to the truth.
@fifi1376 I'm terribly sorry if I mislead you sister, but NOT and AIN'T are not real translations. Those are joke titles Mark and I came up with because the Apostolics are constantly re-interpreting scripture until it is almost unrecognizable. For example:
1. John 10:30 instead of I and my Father are One, to THEM becomes "I am my Father." and
2. John 14:9 instead of "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" becomes to THEM "He who sees Me is looking at the Father for I am the Father."
@Blogrich55 Oh ok! But there is a few Apostolics who sometimes read from another weird translation, but I can't remember which translation it was. I haven't actually read from it but just a few scriptures. But that joke is a good one. They really should write their own translation how you stated! Even in the KJV clearly shows God as 3 in 1, the trinity. By the time they omit all those scriptures & all the scripture that Jesus is at the RIGHT HAND OF GOD, might as well throw the whole thing out!
If you are being born of water and spirit you are becoming a new man it connects when you Repent..Repenting can be consider great because you accepting who you are and what you want to become....a child of god.
Poor Father Abraham, David, and the rest of the OT saints. They didn't go through Acts 2:38. Personally, I was saved when God the Holy Spirit regenerated me and gave the the giift of faith enabling me to repent and place this faith in the gospel of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is HIS BLOOD that paid for my sins NOT water of baptism. It is HIS GRACE that will keep me saved untill He calls me home to His precious wounded side. YOU may trust in your water baptism if you will but I trust HIM!
By God's Law you are required to die when you sin. We all are born in sin. So, tell me what will happen when you die physically if you haven't died out of Adam?
@tldillard3 Yes the wages of sin is death...no exceptions. How marvelous, therefore, is the free gift of God's grace! For by grace a sinner, through faith, can lay hold of the perfect obedient life of Jesus Christ and claim it for his own. Everything Christ did from the womb to the tomb was done for His sheep. He not only DIED my death but He LIVED the life of obedience I owe to a holy God. Do I truly need to be baptized to go to heaven. Praise God, even HIS baptism is mine by faith. Understand?
@Blogrich55 My question was what happens when you die in sin. Wouldn't you agree that the purpose of him dying was to create an access to God. Jesus said he is the way. So how do you get IN the way.
Colossians 2:12 12 Buried with him in baptism, where in also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Romans 6:4, 1 Peter 3:21 I agree Jesus was our example. Jesus was baptized himself. So what would make us think we could bypass?
@tldillard3 Why was Jesus baptized? For the remission of sin? He was sinless. Do you want to know "How...you get IN the way"? Through faith alone in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as He is presented to us in His glorious gospel. Faith alone without works saves. NOT faith itself, the act of believing but the OBJECT of faith, which, as I stated was the gospel of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and He Himself as presented or displayed therein. It is His blood NOT your baptism that cleanses!!
@Blogrich55 Not one scripture sir. The bible says line upon line precept upon precept. Show me scripture for what you believe. It has no basis if there is no scripture. Right now you are saying a lot but scripture doesn' t back it up.
Jesus got baptized because we are supposed to get baptized.
1 Peter 2:21 21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
@tldillard3 Jesus was baptized for a few reasons. He was being anointed for His ministry as Our High Priest for one thing. He was also being baptized to fulfill all righteousness. We should be baptized. But if we can't, for some reason, we should NOT slavishly fear hell. The blood, evidently, is NOT enough to save them. They need to add the water to it. Faith is NOT enough, they need to add the work of obedience of baptism. Jesus Only? I say:
@Blogrich55 Where does the Bible say that you don't really have to be baptized. You have to understand the purpose.
Romans 6:4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection
@tldillard3 You need to stop reading things into the text. A little time on your prayer bones with God's Holy Word open before you would soon show you the errors of your Apostolic doctrines, assuming, of course, the precious Holy Spirit was leading and guiding you into all truth.
SHOW ME the word baptism in James 2:20 sir! Also, he that BELIEVETH not shall be damned. Faith is belief and without faith it is impossible to please Him.
@Blogrich55 What is faith? It's belief that God is true, that he's able to save, that he will come back to get his people, etc. How can you say you believe if you don't obey. You can't. Our faith is shown by our obedience to God's word and his voice. Am I just saying that. No, it's explained to us quite clearly in Hebrews 11. It's not faith when the Bible clearly says you must repent, be baptized, and filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues to be saved. That's Bible
@tldillard3 So produce ONE scripture that CLEARLY teaches you must be " filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues to be saved." Just one will do. You are saved by grace through faith. It is NOT the faith itself that saves but the Object of faith, Jesus Christ and His gospel.
@Blogrich55 John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Mark 16:17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Acts 10:45 ...because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter
@tldillard3 What happened Blogrich55. You asked me to produce a scripture. What you say is right. We are saved by faith. But faith in Jesus Christ is more than words. If you truly have faith in Jesus you will do what HE says. You will do what his WORD says. His WORD says you have to be born of the water and the spirit. There is no other way around it.
@tldillard3 Faith is belief. You are confusing the effects of faith, obedience, with faith itself. You apparently do NOT understand the biblical doctrine of justification by faith alone. EVERYTHING Jesus did was for the benefit of His sheep. His obedience in both life and death is ours by faith alone. He not only died the death we should die as sinners but lived the life of obedience we should live. Therefore any duty we owe God was accomplished by Jesus. His baptism, hence, is ours by faith!
@Blogrich55 I am confusing the effects of faith, obedience, with faith itself??? Explain. Bible says "Faith without works is dead." Not the works of the law as stated in Romans, but the works of obedience to God."
Ok. You state that I don't understand the doctrine of justification. So let's see. In the first passover. The angel only PASSED OVER a house if the blood sacrifice was PHYSICALLY applied to the door posts and the sacrifice consumed. They could not just believe they would be saved
@tldillard3 Have you NEVER studied the Bible sir? Do you not REALIZE that James is using the word faith in a different sense than Paul in Romans 4?? James speaks of a temporal faith or a profession of faith. This profession proves itself to be dead and not credible for it lacks the works that flow from true believers from grateful hearts. It is the same type of temporary faith found in the parable of the Sower and the seeds. It is NOT saving faith but an empty profession. Mormons have it too!!
@Blogrich55 Wow. And the degrading still continues. The discussion of faith in Romans and James are different. But not how you said. In Romans Paul is speaking to the Jews because they were attempting to force the gentiles to be circumcised. Paul then began to preach that we are saved through faith. Not by works of the LAW.
James is speaking about works of obedience through faith. The same works you see in Hebrews 11. Without moving in obedience to God's word, you don't have faith.
@tldillard3 You said to ME "...you don't have." You accuse ME of saying degrading things? You have NERVE. There is nothing more degrading than telling a man who has been preaching the gospel for 36 years he doesn't have faith because he doesn't agree with your dogma! Grow up!
@Blogrich55 I never once said you didn't have faith. The sentence you are referring to was not specifically about you. It was about anyone. What is the gospel sir?
@Blogrich55 I'm asking you. I know what the Gospel is. Trying to understand what you are saying. My point was that the Gospel was preached by the Apostles. The apostles preached baptism in Jesus name and being filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
It's not something that was made up recently. It's what Jesus taught, and what the Apostles preached.
@tldillard3 The Apostles MAY have preached baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Even so, name=authority. Having said that, THAT fact does NOT make baptism in the name of Jesus the SAME as the Gospel. The Apostles preached many things. They preached about Christ's soon return. THAT wasn't the Gospel either. As to speaking in other tongues WHERE do you find Peter or ANY Apostle commanding it?
Acts 2:38 NEVER says "If you are NOT baptized in Jesus' name and speak in tongues you aren't saved."
@Blogrich55 That is in fact incorrect sir. His return has to do with his resurrection. Furthermore.
Acts 22:16 16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
The reason why baptism is APART of the Gospel is because it deals specifically with his death, burial, and resurrection. As the Bible says we are able to resurrect because we die with him in baptism.
@tldillard3 says, "The reason why baptism is APART of the Gospel is because it deals specifically with his death, burial, and resurrection. As the Bible says we are able to resurrect because we die with him in baptism."
It becomes painfully obvious the more I deal with you that you FAIL to understand the gospel at all.
@tldillard3 Yes, amen! And I FAIL TO SEE any mention of baptism being pasted on to it. The Philippian Jailer was told "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou SHALL be saved." Funny no mention of baptism or speaking in other tongues here either.
@Blogrich55 What other purpose does the Gospel serve other than to save souls. Baptism is how we dle, are buried, and will be resurrected like Jesus. This is what the scripture says. You should not have to mention that you have to be baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost if someone believes in Jesus. If you believe in Jesus you will obey the Gospel. You will obey the Word of God.
@brimarie1981 Sister, I NEVER denied he went on to get baptized! I pointed out that Paul did NOT say to do it to get saved. BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou SHALL be saved! PERIOD! We SHOULD be obedient to Jesus and get baptized BUT baptism is NOT essential for salvation. NEITHER are good works although a good Christian SHOULD perform them. You confuse, sister, the cause with the effect! Not only that but you do NOT understand justification by faith ALONE. I will send you a video. GBU
@Blogrich55 You totally contradict yourself in what I have read throu and now I understand more of what you are saying. Send me the video please. It is not the water that saves us but obediences a good conscience to God. Even faith takes work in order to first believe, you have to hear the word, listen to it research it and tell me what have you learned in any subject with out effort. Christ alone saves us amen amen but please for the sake of going in circles what is your hope in?
My hope is in Jesus Christ and His gospel and NOT my obedience! EVERYTHING Jesus did was done for the sake of His sheep. WHATEVER obligations we owe God were earned by Him in His life of obedience to the law of God and His death for sin and break the law. BOTH are ours by faith alone. His baptism, if it were necessary to go to heaven, would be ours BY FAITH as well. The hymn says:
My hope is built on NOTHING less than Jesus' blood and righteousness!
@Blogrich55 Why would the Apostles have to command speaking in tongues. It's not the tongues you are supposed to be trying to get, it's the Holy Ghost. The tongues come with it. As we look at the priestly garments we see that the bottom of it had a sequence of pomegranates and bells. The piece inside the bell that makes the bell ring is also called a tongue. You buy a shoe, the tongue comes with it. The BIBLE says that you will speak in tongues.
@tldillard3 WHERE does the Bible say TONGUES come with the Holy Ghost? When you say it like THAT you are implying they ALWAYS accompany the receiving of the Holy Ghost. THAT is NOT true. Paul says "Not ALL speak in tongues" and also "tongues will cease." DEAL with it!
@Blogrich55 Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Now, Not everyone has the ability to speak different languages which is the "divers kinds of tongues" you are referring to. I am talking about the unknown tongues as spoken about in chapter 14.
1 Cor. 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
@Blogrich55 What are you trying to say sir? That since the Bible doesn't say you don't have to do it you must not have to. This philosophy makes no sense to me. Mark 16:16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. I mean I really don't understand how much more scripture I have to give.
Explain this to me sir. What scriptures do you have to show what you believe?
@tldillard3 No sir, you DO NOT understand scripture. "Not all speak in tongues" evidently is meaningless to you. So you write it off. The Bible says he who BELIEVETH NOT shall be damned NOT he who is NOT baptized. I could mention the thief on the cross but you would just poo poo that example.
What scripture do I have? Try the whole Bible! Sola Scriptura and I don't need goofy tongues, visions, holy laughter, barking, or aisle running NONSENSE to be a Christian either!
@Blogrich55 Wow!!! I did not write off anything. I hadn't read your post yet. I am going in order. There is still a strong lack of scriptural backup in regards to your beliefs.
He that (believeth + baptized) shall be saved. So you are telling me that this part doesn't say you have to be baptized?
He that (believeth not) shall be damned. This person would NOT get baptized because they don't believe. But if you believe this portion is not for you, the first is.
@Blogrich55 Everything Jesus did was to save his people from their sins.
"His obedience in both life and death is ours by faith alone." This is not and cannot be backed up with scripture as the Bible does not say this. Jesus told Nicodemus you can't even see the kingdom of God without being born of the water and spirit in John 3. "
His baptism, hence, is ours by faith" Where is this in the Bible? The Bible says we are buried with him in baptism (Rom. 6:4, Col 2:12)...
@tldillard3 Gee, do I have to teach you a course in hermeneutics, proper exegesis and systematic theology now? LOL Probably because I KNOW they are too busy fooling out in most Pentecostal Churches to do anything but teach a 100 ways to claim your miracle and speak in tongues. I was raised Pentecostal and ordained Pentecostal you know!
@Blogrich55 WOW. And the degrading continues. How you were raised doesn't change the fact that what you say now is false. I don't preach what I preach to make it right. I preach what I preach because it is right. God saved me and showed me who he was. That's enough for me. The same Jesus you said said that you just said you had to believe also said if you believe and are baptized you SHALL be saved. So it was never intended for you just to speak that you believe and never do anything.
@Blogrich55 I really do not understand what you are saying. Let me give you scripture...
Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
@Blogrich55 and that we can't resurrect with him UNLESS we die with him.
It comes down to this. No matter what we think or say, at the end of this thing God is going to be looking for those who were OBEDIENT to his word. If you believe in the Bible and you believe it was written by God then you will do what it says. Whether we understand it or not, we will be judged. And God said he won't wink at ignorance. You have one shot. I would do what the Word of God says. Acts 2:38
@tldillard3 Do you ACTUALLY believe a person only dies to sin when they are baptized?? ONE SHOT? Jesus said, "My sheep HEAR my voice...and I give unto them eternal life and THEY will NEVER perish."John 10L27-28
So take your goofy ONE SHOT with your 2 little pea shooting .38s and repent of trying to add your PUNY WORKS to His wondrous, undeserved, unfathomable loving Grace! Plead His precious blood and forget your silly sweat!
@Blogrich55 Ok. There's a difference between me and you. The more you speak, the more evident it becomes. I'm talking to you to try to help you out of Love. You're talking to me to kill me. But it's all good.
Yeah. God's sheep hear his voice and they will never perish because they will obey him and live Holy. And they have an advocate with the father. Yes. You only die to sin through baptism. Having the Holy Ghost then gives you the ability to mortify the deeds of your body.
@tldillard3 BELOVED, if I were talking to you to kill you, WHY would I even waste my time? If I didn't love you, I would just sit by smugly and let you go on your merry way. I wouldn't give you the time of day or try to challenge you at all. I wouldn't do ANYTHING. NO, Beloved, it is NOT "All good!" For the Bible tells us there is a way that SEEMETH right unto a man but the end there off is the way of death." Proverbs 14:12
I pray right NOW that God gets a hold of you and saves and keeps you!
@Blogrich55 This whole statement is opposite of how you are speaking to me sir. You continue to degrade me and the scriptures. Whether you speak to me or not, your answers are still laced with daggers.
You don't want to let me go on my way because you're angry at someone or something. It seems that you were hurt in the church and now you are taking it out on everyone.
@tldillard3 I don't want to let you go on your way? Who in the name of sanity is FORCING you to flood my comment section, sir?? What daggers are you babbling about? I don't pull shivs like a street punk, sir. I use the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD. I don't use VISIONS either!
@Blogrich55 Who spoke of anyone forcing me. What I said was in reply to your statements. I was referring to what YOU said sir.
"If I didn't love you, I would just sit by smugly and let you go on your merry way. I wouldn't give you the time of day or try to challenge you at all"
I myself LOVE talking about the Word. Whether it's someone that believes the same or not. If they believe the Word of God is true, then we can talk. But again, you've done nothing but degrade, and disgrace.
@tldillard3 You obviously love playing the victim card. Forget the fact you claim the doctrine of the Holy Trinity is of pagan origin and MOST UPC folks accuse trinitarians of believing in 3 gods. Who has degraded or disgraced you?? You need to quite crying foul when you haven't even been hit.
@tldillard3 Theo wrote: "Anyone that read this knows what I'm talking about. I've been nothing but cordial with you. I'm just asking you to do the same."
No one has been mean or rude to you. You come on a video against Apostolic fanaticism and attack it. I can only assume you support the Jesus Only doctrine. Are you a Trinitarian? If so, clear the matter up. Your Acts 2:38 rhetoric and your insistence on baptism in Jesus' name with the sign of tongues seems to indicate you are Apostolic.
@Blogrich55 I am of course Apostolic. I said I wasn't UPC. My statement was specifically in regards to the WAY in which you keep writing me. It has been rude and mean at times. I have not ATTACKED anyone or anything. I joined in on what I believed was a discussion on the SCRIPTURE. And to be honest my sir... the Bible as a whole backs up why I am saying. I do not have to use ONLY Acts 2:38.
@tldillard3 You bet your sweet life you are an Apostolic and I KNEW that all along! So don't play games about NOT being UPC. Who cares which aberrant group you belong to? Back in Indiana they had the Free Will Baptists, the General Baptists, the Separate Baptists and a dozen other ARMINIAN Baptist groups. Who cares WHAT particular group a person is in?? Doctrine is what I matters. Apostolic doctrine is a lie of the devil and comes straight from the fiery pit of hell itself and is PURE WORKS!
@Blogrich55 WOW!!! I am not UPC. There are differences in beliefs. So it does have some relevance. However, realize that the Apostolic doctrine is nothing more than the doctrine preached by the Apostles. This is clearly in the WORD of God. So what you are saying is from the fiery pit of hell itself is actually the BIBLE.
What i say is clearly in the bible. Whether you agree or not.
Jesus Christ is the savior. Upc followers are very insecure in the doctrines they follow, hence the great anger. If you truly pray and seek BIBLE truth and forget man and your pastor and ASK GOD to show you what the BIBLE says about Jesus and how we are saved BY GRACE THRU FAITH and BY ONE MANS OBEDIENCE (not your obedience) , By HIS BLOOD ARE YOUR SINS REMITTED(which is why we are baptized, for, because of) The focus MUST BE on JESUS NOT YOU NOT THE UPC but the SAVIOR(JESUS) God bless you all
@musicmusing This is not true. You HAVE to have a Pastor. There has to be order. God is a God of order and he said I set Pastors over you. Vision comes through the Pastor. Bible says without vision the people perish. If you're not listening to your Pastor you WILL perish.
@musicmusing I'm talking about a Pastor that God sent. A church that God started. Everyone is not sent out by God to Pastor. This is why its hard to find a goog church to go to.
When I said vision I was not talking about vision for a new building, or vision that has anything to do with things on this world. A Pastor gets his vision from God and that vision is given to help edify the church and the people of God. It's purpose should not be JUST to get more people, money, and a big buildin
@musicmusing you must agree that the upc can be extremely manipulative and sociologically damaging. i am glad i left to find Jesus is loving and caring, full of grace, His burden is light. none of which is heard in the upc
Wow you totally warped baptism sir :D! If someone actually believed this video their blood will be on your hands on judgment day. What many "grace saving Christians" do not get about the term GRACE, is that it is an attribute of God. Not his saving formula.yea we are in his grace. we are breathing are we?Even the children of Israel were under his grace(before the dispensation of grace)So of course his grace saves us. all those who know truth are saved by his grace.
You are obviously an Apostolic or Jesus Only believer. You have NO concept of grace. We are saved by grace through faith. Faith is the gift of God. We do NOT have to babble in tongues or be baptized to be saved. If you understood the doctrine of justification by faith you would know this.
You go on and mix faith and works all you like. Preach the clothesline too like most of your ilk. My prayer is that God will deliver you from the snares of the devil and break the chains of legalistic bondage!

1. Said NOT ALL speak in tongues in1 Cor 12:30?
2. Said tongues would CEASE in 1 Cor 13:8?
I did NOT twist what he said! He has a works salvation and is a blind guide!

MrPentecostal93 6 months ago
-Yes Romans chapter 6 explains baptism and Acts 4:12 tells us that it has to be in the name of JesusChrist.
-Romans 8:9 says that if we don't have the spirit of Christ we are not of him.
-The tounges thing is the fact that when you speak in tounges you have evidence of the Holy Spirit because otherwise how else how would we know we have it with our human knowledge. So if your just guessing you have the Holy Spirit then your really not sure, so yes you speaking in tounges is the evidence.
MrPentecostal93 6 months ago
@MrPentecostal93 "otherwise how else how would we know we have it with our human knowledge"
Because Jesus said clearly in John 6:44 "No man CAN come to me, except the Father who sent him draw him..."
Have you come to Jesus for salvation? If so either the Father drew you OR Jesus lied. You choose. Now don't tell again tongues are the EXCLUSIVE evidence of having he Holy Spirit. The Father draws through the Holy Spirit.
Blogrich55 6 months ago
examine the book of Acts, when the church preached to sinners they told them to repent, they baptized them and made sure they recieved the Holy Spirit.
MrPentecostal93 6 months ago 3
@MrPentecostal93 So DO you need to be baptized to be saved? DO you need to speak in tongues?
Blogrich55 6 months ago
ok ok. if you are stating scripture of the Bible when Paul writes to the churches and says things like call upon the name of the Lord or just believe you will be saved that is true. But who is he writing it to? to the church people who have already repented, been baptized, and recieved the Holy Spirit. through those epistles Paul talks about baptism and the Holy Spirit and how its essential.

No es cierto. La palabra bautizo en El Griego significa mojar, bautizar, o limpiar.

Yes, it is called regeneration and PROCEEDS faith and repentance. Why? Man is spiritually dead and can NOT hear the gospel. Dead men cannot believe.

Acts 8:12-18 (New King James Version)
12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. 13 Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
brimarie1981 1 year ago
Just look what Jesus told the apostles to do find the scriptures I will give you a hint...Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, and what did Jesus say to do, that was when he was walking among men did he say maybe you should, or if you want to blank do it it is an option. Well? The verse come from Mathew now the day of pentecost came what was apostle Peter's message in Acts 2: 36-47 say? What did Peter tell them to do so the promise of The Holy Ghost is not a reason to be overjoyed?
brimarie1981 1 year ago

God bless!
brimarie1981 1 year ago
Please put that preacher back on because baptism comes after believing, repenting and following what Jesus said to do Acts 2 :38. So are you saying to enter in at another door not through the door Jesus said to enter in. If you believe then you obey. Peter did not say pray this prayer believe and you are saved, Jesus did not say just go out and preach he said to preach n baptize but obvioudly what Jesus said is not critical to you because if it was you would not doubt or take it out of scripture
brimarie1981 1 year ago
@brimarie1981 says "So are you saying to enter in at another door not through the door Jesus said to enter in..."
Obviously the words of your leaders mean more than those of Jesus. He said that HE HIMSELF was the way NOT baptism! We are saved by grace through faith ALONE and NOT by faith and works! Yes, baptism is a work. It is commanded by Jesus but NOT essential to salvation. "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Paul did NOT say believe, be baptized, speak in tongues...

Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid Perhaps your time would be better spent presenting what YOU believe than trying to act like an apologist for others. So if it is true that "the facts remain they have a lot more scripture to support their theology" than I, then WHY don't you believe them. I will tell you:
1. Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
2. When a concept, idea, or doctrine is ONLY close to being true it is FALSE. If you thought they WERE right, you should follow them but obviously don't!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid If you knew the MULTITUDE of times I have had to go into this with others, you might be a little more understanding. Let me give you a humorous example from scripture:
1. Judas went out and hung himself. 2. Go and do thou likewise. 3. What thou doest, do quickly.
This is the SORT of faulty theological slapping together of verses I refer to. Do I REALLY have to disconnect the dots? You are taking unrelated verses and putting them together to try to prove a false doctrine. Sorry!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid I do not, frankly, have time in these short comments to "disconnect the dots" of the scriptures you have slapped together eisegetically to "prove" your point. They do NOT add up. Sorry.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid Scripture DOES say Jesus commanded them to baptize in the Triune formula. What is the name, held in common, by the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost? It is YHWH. Just because the word Trinity is not in Bible does NOT mean the concept or doctrine is not either. We teach the Truth because it is what we are commanded to do.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid "Scripture does not say the name of Jesus is His authority."
I was saying that the phrase "in the name of" means "by the authority of" and NOT that the name Jesus somehow, magically, is authoritative. It represents Jesus. He is the one who authority is being invoked.
Your assertion that the Apostles NEVER used the "Triune formula" is speculative and is dependent upon an argument from silence. If they did NOT baptize in the Triune names as Jesus said to, they were disobedient!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid If you think I don't, perhaps you had better explain it to me.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid My fruit is amazing too but then MINE is the perfect obedience that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rendered to the law of God. By faith alone it is MINE. God the Father declares me righteous NOT on the basis of my own PERSONAL fruit but on THAT of His Son Jesus put on MY account by faith alone. This is the ONLY fruit I will lay at God's feet on that day. Toplady's old hymn says it best: NOTHING in my hands I bring, simply to THY CROSS I cling. Our righteousness is as filthy rags.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid Humility NEVER saved anyone. In Bible college (Trinitarian Pentecostal) they used to joke that, other than lions, WORMS were the only animal that traveled in prides. Hence, they joked, the pride of worms.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid I would be very helpful IF you would explain how you differ from them on your doctrine of God. You say you are Oneness but NOT Jesus only. WHAT do you believe? Maybe we should start there first.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid "Seems"?? We don't get doctrine from what seems to be. How the Apostles baptized and claiming they NEVER used the trinitarian formula COMMANDED by Jesus is speculative at best. It is based upon a futile argument from silence. The NAME of Jesus merely means His authority NOT literally His name.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid freely admits, "scripture does not say so, but..." WELL, if scripture does NOT say so WE have NO right teaching it. What right do we have preaching false doctrines and eisegetic concepts that "put many into bondage and others into pride"? We are NOT to add to or take away from God's word.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@aTrueHybrid There is NO logical or scriptural connection between mortification of sin in the believer and baptism. Sorry.

Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 I beg to differ. While I don't believe the GREATEST THING is to be baptized in the Name of Jesus, it doesn't take away from the fact that you HAVE to be baptized in the name of Jesus. Whether you agree or not sir. Baptism is not a work. It's an act of obedience. You are not doing anything but obeying.
Let's look at it this way.
The Bible DOES say that you have to be baptized. Where does the Bible say you don't? No opinions, show me scripture.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Theo you said, "...you HAVE to be baptized in the name of Jesus." You deny it is a work but THEN assert "It's an act of obedience." And would mind explaining the difference between an act and a work?
The Bible NEVER says you HAVE to be baptized. Baptism is NOT essential to salvation. BUT if it WERE, the baptism of Jesus AS WELL AS His death is MINE by faith. Whatever DUTY I owe God, Jesus performed it. HIS obedience is MINE by faith. THIS is justification by FAITH ALONE. Sola Fide!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 When I speak of baptism not being a work. It's in reference specifically to the scripture you are referring to in Romans. Where, as is true, we are NOT saved by the works of the Law. This is because the law could not save us. However, this is not the works of the law such as Circumcision which is what the writer was specifically talking about.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 You keep saying that the baptism is not essential to salvation. 1 Peter 3:21
21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
This isn't confusing at all. It clearly states that baptism saves us. I want you to understand that through faith we are saved. However, our faith MOVES us to obedience to God's word. Else it's not faith.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 So you believe in the damnable heresy of baptismal regeneration? The point is CLEAR it is not OUR obedience that justifies us by His. If baptism WERE needed to go to heaven, by faith, His baptism would be ours. NONE of our personal works of obedience contribute ONE IOTA to our salvation. It is NOT synergistic. Quit teaching damnable Roman Catholic heresy and get saved sir!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Damnable Heresy of baptismal regeneration??? You keep repeating this and not answering to the scripture that is clear. Baptism saves you. Also, you are exchanging words in places that they should not be exchanged. Obedience is NOT the same as righteousness, nor is Justification the same as the others.
Philippians 2:12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 wrote, "Baptism saves you." If this is what you REALLY believe, I must seriously question your salvation or the credibility of your profession sir. As to exchanging words, do you REALLY fail to understand that Christ's OBEDIENCE to God's law WAS His righteousness? Remember it says work OUT not work FOR!
Blogrich55 1 year ago

1 Corinthians 6:11
11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Yes and NOTE WELL it says WORK OUT and NOT work FOR your own salvation and, if you continue the sentence into verse 13 it says "For it is God who works in you both to will and do of His good pleasure." Like ALL Roman Catholics before, Pentecostals and Apostolics CONFUSE justification and sanctification. We are justified or declared righteous by God the Father by faith ALONE. The Holy Spirit works His sanctifying work within us daily conforming us to the image of Jesus Christ!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 You do not have to work for your salvation. But you do have to work. That is what i'm saying. You said specifically that we don't have to work. The scripture says opposite. Yeah. Exactly, through the Holy Ghost God teaches you equips you in how to work out your salvation.
Justification is a legal word. It has to do with the legal ramiffications of Adam's actions. Adam sinned and the penalty was death. We were born under that penalty. cont...
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 and now Jesus died to pay the price for that penalty or to appease God. Now through his blood we can be Justified. But the blood is only applied to those that are IN Christ Jesus.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Our obedience has everything to do with our salvation. Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Here is a scripture where clearly the two have a direct correlation to one another.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 wrote "Our obedience has everything to do with our salvation." Spoken like a good little Roman Catholic heretic. The Pope is smiling his anti-christ smile on you right now my son.
Blogrich55 1 year ago

It is moving in fear and obedience to what God says
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 says, "Jesus' is obedience is not yours by faith. You have to be obedient for yourself. Please show me one scripture that says that Jesus' obedience is yours by faith."
"and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ the RIGHTEOUSNESS which is from God by faith;" Phil 3:9
Apostolics do NOT understand the doctrine of justification by faith ALONE. Luther and Calvin said it was the foundation of the faith!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 This scripture you quoted does not say that HIS obedience is yours by faith. It's speaking of Righeousness, being put in right standing with God. That is correct. I asked where the Bible states that Jesus' obedience is ours by faith as you stated.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 I cannot help it is simple exegesis and proper hermeneutics are beyond you. READ it in context! To save space I zeroed in on verse 9. THEN read the WHOLE book of Romans and remember, "NOT by works of righteousness..." and maybe you should get on your knees and meditate on His righteousness and read Isaiah 61:10 a few times until it sinks in. I realize I am being rude right now. I apologize but you have PUSHED me to the limit with your blind WORKS RELIGION! I do preach baptism!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Wow. LOL!! I did read it in context sir. What was said that was out of context. Please explain. Right now all I hear is bashing. It's funny that you brought up Isaiah 61:10. Please explain how you put on the garments of salvation if all you have to do is have faith.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Furthermore, let's look further into the scripture you posted:
9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 The scripture says being made conformable to his death. How do you do that. It's through baptism in his name. I'm telling you sir. There is scripture regarding baptism all throughout the Bible.
tldillard3 1 year ago
In the end... everyone will have to answer to God. At this time you will be able to explain to God why you didn't just do what he asked. It's not hard... nor is it grievous. All God is asking is for you to die in him through baptism and to let him fill you with his spirit. What's wrong with that? What will you tell God when he asks you why you didn't? What if you're wrong?
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 No YOU will have to explain to God why you added your pathetic works to His glorious grace. Believe the gospel and you will be saved! It is NOT the gospel + your works. Salvation is by faith ALONE. God doesn't need YOU to LET Him do anything! He draws His elect sheep to Jesus by the power of His Holy Spirit! They come without fail and will NEVER perish.
"Jesus answered and said unto them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him who He sent." John 6:29 Get it? Got it?Good!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 WOW!!! I thought we were having a very civil conversation. The rudeness is unnecessary. I'm not adding. It's rightly dividing. Every truth must be established by two mouths. Line upon line, precept upon precept. What you hold as truth should be confirmed somewhere else in the Bible.
Faith is not merely believing. Where do you see that in the bible? Where does the Bible show you faith without action? Ok, let me help. Look at Hebrews 11. The whole chapter.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 You are right in the fact that I can be sarcastic, rude, obnoxious and very carnal at times. HOWEVER pointing out that someone has added to the Bible with their doctrine is NOT rude. Yes, faith is belief. Works are the effect of saving faith (n matter how small they might be) and NOT part of it.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Philippians 2:12
No. The power of salvation is in the name that saves.
tldillard3 1 year ago
Matt.28:19 How can Oneness say this is wrong & not right when this same scripture is in the Bible they read & study and say it's the true and accurate word of God? And what about the guy Jesus saved on the cross. He wasn't even water baptized. And you can't say it wasn't required @ that time because John The Baptist had already came and was killed long before Jesus died on the cross. Maybe they need to write their own Bible just like all the other occults do!
fifi1376 1 year ago
@fifi1376 According to my good friend and brother Mark Aponte (October31st1517) They already have their own translation: the New Oneness Translation or NOT. LOL
I myself have heard of another: the Apostolic Interlinear New Testament or AIN'T LOL
either way you look at it, they do NOT follow God's Holy Word the Bible but add works to grace. God bless you.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Yes I've heard of the Interlinear translation. Haven't heard of the New Oneness Translation. Most Oneness believe in the King James Version only. Which is good, but since they have their own translation away for the REAL Word of God, makes them an occult. It's just sad! I pray for them and for God to open their eyes to the truth.
fifi1376 1 year ago
@fifi1376 I'm terribly sorry if I mislead you sister, but NOT and AIN'T are not real translations. Those are joke titles Mark and I came up with because the Apostolics are constantly re-interpreting scripture until it is almost unrecognizable. For example:
1. John 10:30 instead of I and my Father are One, to THEM becomes "I am my Father." and
2. John 14:9 instead of "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" becomes to THEM "He who sees Me is looking at the Father for I am the Father."
etc...
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Oh ok! But there is a few Apostolics who sometimes read from another weird translation, but I can't remember which translation it was. I haven't actually read from it but just a few scriptures. But that joke is a good one. They really should write their own translation how you stated! Even in the KJV clearly shows God as 3 in 1, the trinity. By the time they omit all those scriptures & all the scripture that Jesus is at the RIGHT HAND OF GOD, might as well throw the whole thing out!

@Blogrich55
By God's Law you are required to die when you sin. We all are born in sin. So, tell me what will happen when you die physically if you haven't died out of Adam?
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Yes the wages of sin is death...no exceptions. How marvelous, therefore, is the free gift of God's grace! For by grace a sinner, through faith, can lay hold of the perfect obedient life of Jesus Christ and claim it for his own. Everything Christ did from the womb to the tomb was done for His sheep. He not only DIED my death but He LIVED the life of obedience I owe to a holy God. Do I truly need to be baptized to go to heaven. Praise God, even HIS baptism is mine by faith. Understand?
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 My question was what happens when you die in sin. Wouldn't you agree that the purpose of him dying was to create an access to God. Jesus said he is the way. So how do you get IN the way.
Colossians 2:12 12 Buried with him in baptism, where in also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Romans 6:4, 1 Peter 3:21 I agree Jesus was our example. Jesus was baptized himself. So what would make us think we could bypass?
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Why was Jesus baptized? For the remission of sin? He was sinless. Do you want to know "How...you get IN the way"? Through faith alone in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as He is presented to us in His glorious gospel. Faith alone without works saves. NOT faith itself, the act of believing but the OBJECT of faith, which, as I stated was the gospel of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and He Himself as presented or displayed therein. It is His blood NOT your baptism that cleanses!!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Not one scripture sir. The bible says line upon line precept upon precept. Show me scripture for what you believe. It has no basis if there is no scripture. Right now you are saying a lot but scripture doesn' t back it up.
Jesus got baptized because we are supposed to get baptized.
1 Peter 2:21 21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Jesus was baptized for a few reasons. He was being anointed for His ministry as Our High Priest for one thing. He was also being baptized to fulfill all righteousness. We should be baptized. But if we can't, for some reason, we should NOT slavishly fear hell. The blood, evidently, is NOT enough to save them. They need to add the water to it. Faith is NOT enough, they need to add the work of obedience of baptism. Jesus Only? I say:
ONLY JESUS! He is ALL I need!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Where does the Bible say that you don't really have to be baptized. You have to understand the purpose.
Romans 6:4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 The way you get in Jesus according to the scriptures is by Baptism. Not by faith alone.
James 2:20 20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:26 26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Here is what Jesus said about just having faith.
Mark 16:16
16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 You need to stop reading things into the text. A little time on your prayer bones with God's Holy Word open before you would soon show you the errors of your Apostolic doctrines, assuming, of course, the precious Holy Spirit was leading and guiding you into all truth.
SHOW ME the word baptism in James 2:20 sir! Also, he that BELIEVETH not shall be damned. Faith is belief and without faith it is impossible to please Him.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 How am I reading into the text. It's logic.
He that believeth and get's baptized shall be saved.
He that believeth not won't get baptized and won't be saved. Obviously because they don't believe so they won't.
It's clear because they don't believe.
Your statement was faith without works. But the Bible clearly says in James 2:20 the opposite.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 What is faith? It's belief that God is true, that he's able to save, that he will come back to get his people, etc. How can you say you believe if you don't obey. You can't. Our faith is shown by our obedience to God's word and his voice. Am I just saying that. No, it's explained to us quite clearly in Hebrews 11. It's not faith when the Bible clearly says you must repent, be baptized, and filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues to be saved. That's Bible
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 So produce ONE scripture that CLEARLY teaches you must be " filled with the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues to be saved." Just one will do. You are saved by grace through faith. It is NOT the faith itself that saves but the Object of faith, Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
Mark 16:17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Acts 10:45 ...because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 What happened Blogrich55. You asked me to produce a scripture. What you say is right. We are saved by faith. But faith in Jesus Christ is more than words. If you truly have faith in Jesus you will do what HE says. You will do what his WORD says. His WORD says you have to be born of the water and the spirit. There is no other way around it.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Faith is belief. You are confusing the effects of faith, obedience, with faith itself. You apparently do NOT understand the biblical doctrine of justification by faith alone. EVERYTHING Jesus did was for the benefit of His sheep. His obedience in both life and death is ours by faith alone. He not only died the death we should die as sinners but lived the life of obedience we should live. Therefore any duty we owe God was accomplished by Jesus. His baptism, hence, is ours by faith!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 I am confusing the effects of faith, obedience, with faith itself??? Explain. Bible says "Faith without works is dead." Not the works of the law as stated in Romans, but the works of obedience to God."
Ok. You state that I don't understand the doctrine of justification. So let's see. In the first passover. The angel only PASSED OVER a house if the blood sacrifice was PHYSICALLY applied to the door posts and the sacrifice consumed. They could not just believe they would be saved
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Have you NEVER studied the Bible sir? Do you not REALIZE that James is using the word faith in a different sense than Paul in Romans 4?? James speaks of a temporal faith or a profession of faith. This profession proves itself to be dead and not credible for it lacks the works that flow from true believers from grateful hearts. It is the same type of temporary faith found in the parable of the Sower and the seeds. It is NOT saving faith but an empty profession. Mormons have it too!!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Wow.
Without moving in obedience to God's word, you don't have faith.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 You said to ME "...you don't have." You accuse ME of saying degrading things? You have NERVE. There is nothing more degrading than telling a man who has been preaching the gospel for 36 years he doesn't have faith because he doesn't agree with your dogma! Grow up!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 I never once said you didn't have faith. The sentence you are referring to was not specifically about you. It was about anyone. What is the gospel sir?
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Do you NOT know what the gospel is? I would refer you to 1 Cor 15:1-4
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 I'm asking you. I know what the Gospel is. Trying to understand what you are saying. My point was that the Gospel was preached by the Apostles. The apostles preached baptism in Jesus name and being filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
It's not something that was made up recently. It's what Jesus taught, and what the Apostles preached.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 The Apostles MAY have preached baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Even so, name=authority. Having said that, THAT fact does NOT make baptism in the name of Jesus the SAME as the Gospel. The Apostles preached many things. They preached about Christ's soon return. THAT wasn't the Gospel either. As to speaking in other tongues WHERE do you find Peter or ANY Apostle commanding it?
Acts 2:38 NEVER says "If you are NOT baptized in Jesus' name and speak in tongues you aren't saved."
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 That is in fact incorrect sir. His return has to do with his resurrection. Furthermore.
Acts 22:16 16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
The reason why baptism is APART of the Gospel is because it deals specifically with his death, burial, and resurrection. As the Bible says we are able to resurrect because we die with him in baptism.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 says, "The reason why baptism is APART of the Gospel is because it deals specifically with his death, burial, and resurrection. As the Bible says we are able to resurrect because we die with him in baptism."
It becomes painfully obvious the more I deal with you that you FAIL to understand the gospel at all.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Hmm... 1 Corinthians 15 is where the Gospel is spelled out. Pretty much verses 1-8.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Yes, amen! And I FAIL TO SEE any mention of baptism being pasted on to it. The Philippian Jailer was told "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou SHALL be saved." Funny no mention of baptism or speaking in other tongues here either.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 What other purpose does the Gospel serve other than to save souls. Baptism is how we dle, are buried, and will be resurrected like Jesus. This is what the scripture says. You should not have to mention that you have to be baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost if someone believes in Jesus. If you believe in Jesus you will obey the Gospel. You will obey the Word of God.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Wrong you are not telling the truth he did get baptized him and his family and on the same night that he believed. Read Acts 16:33
brimarie1981 1 year ago
@brimarie1981 Sister, I NEVER denied he went on to get baptized! I pointed out that Paul did NOT say to do it to get saved. BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou SHALL be saved! PERIOD! We SHOULD be obedient to Jesus and get baptized BUT baptism is NOT essential for salvation. NEITHER are good works although a good Christian SHOULD perform them. You confuse, sister, the cause with the effect! Not only that but you do NOT understand justification by faith ALONE. I will send you a video. GBU
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 You totally contradict yourself in what I have read throu and now I understand more of what you are saying. Send me the video please. It is not the water that saves us but obediences a good conscience to God. Even faith takes work in order to first believe, you have to hear the word, listen to it research it and tell me what have you learned in any subject with out effort. Christ alone saves us amen amen but please for the sake of going in circles what is your hope in?
brimarie1981 1 year ago
@brimarie1981 asks "what is your hope in?"
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Why would the Apostles have to command speaking in tongues. It's not the tongues you are supposed to be trying to get, it's the Holy Ghost. The tongues come with it. As we look at the priestly garments we see that the bottom of it had a sequence of pomegranates and bells. The piece inside the bell that makes the bell ring is also called a tongue. You buy a shoe, the tongue comes with it. The BIBLE says that you will speak in tongues.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 WHERE does the Bible say TONGUES come with the Holy Ghost? When you say it like THAT you are implying they ALWAYS accompany the receiving of the Holy Ghost. THAT is NOT true. Paul says "Not ALL speak in tongues" and also "tongues will cease." DEAL with it!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Now, Not everyone has the ability to speak different languages which is the "divers kinds of tongues" you are referring to. I am talking about the unknown tongues as spoken about in chapter 14.
1 Cor. 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
tldillard3 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 What are you trying to say sir? That since the Bible doesn't say you don't have to do it you must not have to. This philosophy makes no sense to me. Mark 16:16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. I mean I really don't understand how much more scripture I have to give.
Explain this to me sir. What scriptures do you have to show what you believe?
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 No sir, you DO NOT understand scripture. "Not all speak in tongues" evidently is meaningless to you. So you write it off. The Bible says he who BELIEVETH NOT shall be damned NOT he who is NOT baptized. I could mention the thief on the cross but you would just poo poo that example.
What scripture do I have? Try the whole Bible! Sola Scriptura and I don't need goofy tongues, visions, holy laughter, barking, or aisle running NONSENSE to be a Christian either!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Wow!!!

Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 WOW.

@tldillard3 So God "showed" you ehhh? The Bible ALONE is the word of God Joe Smith jr. ROFLOL

@Blogrich55 I really do not understand what you are saying. Let me give you scripture...
Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Deuteronomy 29:29 was the verse I was forced to preach on the most as a pastor.

@Blogrich55 This doesn't tell me much.

Acts 2:38
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 Do you ACTUALLY believe a person only dies to sin when they are baptized?? ONE SHOT? Jesus said, "My sheep HEAR my voice...and I give unto them eternal life and THEY will NEVER perish."John 10L27-28
So take your goofy ONE SHOT with your 2 little pea shooting .38s and repent of trying to add your PUNY WORKS to His wondrous, undeserved, unfathomable loving Grace! Plead His precious blood and forget your silly sweat!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Ok. There's a difference between me and you. The more you speak, the more evident it becomes. I'm talking to you to try to help you out of Love. You're talking to me to kill me. But it's all good.
Yeah. God's sheep hear his voice and they will never perish because they will obey him and live Holy. And they have an advocate with the father. Yes. You only die to sin through baptism. Having the Holy Ghost then gives you the ability to mortify the deeds of your body.
tldillard3 1 year ago

It seems that you were hurt in the church and now you are taking it out on everyone.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 I don't want to let you go on your way? Who in the name of sanity is FORCING you to flood my comment section, sir?? What daggers are you babbling about? I don't pull shivs like a street punk, sir. I use the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD. I don't use VISIONS either!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 Who spoke of anyone forcing me. What I said was in reply to your statements. I was referring to what YOU said sir.
"If I didn't love you, I would just sit by smugly and let you go on your merry way. I wouldn't give you the time of day or try to challenge you at all"
I myself LOVE talking about the Word. Whether it's someone that believes the same or not. If they believe the Word of God is true, then we can talk. But again, you've done nothing but degrade, and disgrace.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 You obviously love playing the victim card. Forget the fact you claim the doctrine of the Holy Trinity is of pagan origin and MOST UPC folks accuse trinitarians of believing in 3 gods. Who has degraded or disgraced you?? You need to quite crying foul when you haven't even been hit.
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 This makes no sense. I never told you I claimed the doctrine of the Holy Trinity is of Pagan Origin. Nor did i ever claim to be UPC.
Anyone that read this knows what I'm talking about. I've been nothing but cordial with you. I'm just asking you to do the same.

Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 I am of course Apostolic. I said I wasn't UPC. My statement was specifically in regards to the WAY in which you keep writing me. It has been rude and mean at times. I have not ATTACKED anyone or anything. I joined in on what I believed was a discussion on the SCRIPTURE. And to be honest my sir... the Bible as a whole backs up why I am saying. I do not have to use ONLY Acts 2:38.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 You bet your sweet life you are an Apostolic and I KNEW that all along! So don't play games about NOT being UPC. Who cares which aberrant group you belong to? Back in Indiana they had the Free Will Baptists, the General Baptists, the Separate Baptists and a dozen other ARMINIAN Baptist groups. Who cares WHAT particular group a person is in?? Doctrine is what I matters. Apostolic doctrine is a lie of the devil and comes straight from the fiery pit of hell itself and is PURE WORKS!
Blogrich55 1 year ago
@Blogrich55 WOW!!!

If you truly pray and seek BIBLE truth and forget man and your pastor and ASK GOD to show you what the BIBLE says about Jesus and how we are saved BY GRACE THRU FAITH and BY ONE MANS OBEDIENCE (not your obedience) , By HIS BLOOD ARE YOUR SINS REMITTED(which is why we are baptized, for, because of) The focus MUST BE on JESUS NOT YOU NOT THE UPC but the SAVIOR(JESUS) God bless you all
musicmusing 2 years ago
@musicmusing This is not true. You HAVE to have a Pastor. There has to be order. God is a God of order and he said I set Pastors over you. Vision comes through the Pastor. Bible says without vision the people perish. If you're not listening to your Pastor you WILL perish.
tldillard3 1 year ago
@tldillard3 my old upc pastor had a vision. a year later the church lost 500,000 dollars and were renting an anglican church in skid row
musicmusing 1 year ago
@musicmusing I'm talking about a Pastor that God sent. A church that God started. Everyone is not sent out by God to Pastor. This is why its hard to find a goog church to go to.
When I said vision I was not talking about vision for a new building, or vision that has anything to do with things on this world. A Pastor gets his vision from God and that vision is given to help edify the church and the people of God. It's purpose should not be JUST to get more people, money, and a big buildin

@tldillard3 true

Not his saving formula.yea we are in his grace. we are breathing are we?Even the children of Israel were under his grace(before the dispensation of grace)So of course his grace saves us. all those who know truth are saved by his grace.
freright123 2 years ago
You are obviously an Apostolic or Jesus Only believer. You have NO concept of grace. We are saved by grace through faith. Faith is the gift of God. We do NOT have to babble in tongues or be baptized to be saved. If you understood the doctrine of justification by faith you would know this.
You go on and mix faith and works all you like. Preach the clothesline too like most of your ilk. My prayer is that God will deliver you from the snares of the devil and break the chains of legalistic bondage!
