Stock trainz content is pretty bad with the exception of marias pass harlem line n the routes in 2012. However the addons n 3rd party content leaves msts in the dust.
Check out Jointed Rail (jointed rail . com without spaces) for some great payware content. Also, my friend Andrew (norfolksouthern15 here) is modeling the Harrisburg and Lehigh Lines in Trainz 2012. It is by far better. Jointed Rail and RRMods (rrmods . com - no spaces) could pretty much provide all engines and rolling stock you could ever want. Have fun with it! Check us out at (trainzforums . com). I'm trainkid16, and there are plenty of nice people there. Enjoy!
@trainkid16 Thanks for the information. I'm looking forward to that route being completed. I'll have to upgrade to Trainz 2012 when it's released because I'm all for running good quality routes. I've had to filter through a lot of junk the past few weeks lol.
@murjax Trainz 2012 has been out for 6-8 months now! Honestly, a lot of the content you have won't work; however, the people at the aforementioned forum know all about fixing things. TS12 has the Mojave Sub, to boot! (TS12 is copyright Auran/N3V, NOT Railworks. It's sad that this program has been out for so long and they don't know about it...
@trainkid16 Honestly I was debating between getting Trainz 2009 because of the low price, and getting Trainz 2012 because of the additional content and of course the multiplayer. The reason I ended up choosing 2009 was because I was told through various sources that there were quite a few glitches with 2012's content, and that the multiplayer system didn't work half the time. Of course I'm sure that will improve with time, if it hasn't already. That's why I'll probably get 2012 at some point.
@murjax Alright. I haven't had problems with TS12. Some stuff has been outdated, but those things are quickly being created in higher quality versions. Multiplayer isn't all that great anyway. Normally, it's a bunch of people just making things up as they go. I tend to stick to route building. I also forgot to mention that I'm part of the team at thoroughbredlocoworks . yolasite . com. I am the hornsound editor.
@ikolkyo967 Thanks. That is something that is generally true with any Trainz equipment as opposed to MSTS. There are still things that can be improved, but yeah the sounds are pretty detailed.
