  • why did dave play C and d on the 8 and 10 taste?

  • O_o You're right! lol Doesnt even look like a girl.. XD l

  • Nice sound quality. Other videos are scruffy, yours is great. Thanks :)

  • the kinks were great..my band played all their songs back then..saw them live too in nyc

    now im old fuck

  • This song IS the definition of coolness...yah!

  • I think I've been singing this song since first grade.

  • my boyfriend says this song is our theme song, especially since we're so far apart right now. glad i could find it here!

  • goddamn the 60's just ROCKED...

  • The bass player's instrument was strapped on WAY too low.

  • shut the f*** up the kinks are cool as F***!

  • On every of their songs, their solo is the same... Just listen... The tune change, but not the tab... But the Kinks still one of my favorite group!

  • yea it has that beat and rythm to it. but it still sounds cool

  • I never understood the reason why the Kinks did not made the great (on the charts) as the Beatles and the Stones!!!! They had image, power, excelent songs, a perfomance no better nether worse than the Fab Four or th Stones... I think there was some kind of conspiration that «frammed» Ray davies and his boys...

  • More than the other big bands, they rebelled and constantly fought their record label, managers, and tour promoters. That helped them get banned from the US, and their momentum drained away.

  • Thanks for your answer. The Kinks were to rebells for the time... in the middle 60's there was no place for punks.

  • Cool

  • OMG! I love the kinks so much :)

  • For their time or era they were the the kings of distortion & sarcasm!!! Perfect example is the video for sunny afternoon!!!

  • The Davies brothers violently deny Page playing the solo on this or "You Really Got Me'. No one has ever claimed witnessing Page's claim. He started saying this back when was thought as Beck's replacement in the Yardbirds, and probably regrets it now.

  • Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin played the original guitar solo on the studio version.

  • Strange. I read an interview with Page sometime ago and he said he played rhythm guitar on some Kinks tracks, but not lead.

  • I'd rather believe the version of the Davies brothers instead of the guy who plagerized in several occassions.

  • Really high up guitars. XD

  • lol i noticed that to

  • Wheter this song was the first heavy metal or punk song, or the first garage sound is absolutely irrelevant. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the first, but it put it in the top of the charts, reaching an artistic and popularity level it never had before. The Kinks were the breakthrough of it. Period.

    God Save the Kinks.

  • one of rock finest moments ray 7 the lads should be proude!!!!

  • Ladies and gentleman, you have just witnessed the world's first true "heavy metal" song. That was it.

I was 10 years old when this song came out and I went nuts every time I heard it.

  • i've been sittin' here trying to think of an earlier heavy metal song...i can't! U may be right about this being the first one.

  • i was thinking song "hang up" by the wailers was before this, but im not sure about that though.

  • @heyjudy Jimi hendrix!!!!

  • aca en chile hay un grupo muy parecido a los kinks e igual de buenos...LOS BUNKERS

  • aca en chile hay un grupo muy parecido a los kinks y tan buenos como ellos...LOS BUNKERS

  • man, what an energetic performance. <3 the kinks--one of my absolute favorites!

  • If you think this is a prelude to punk, have a listen to I'm Not Like Everybody Else.

  • Great ! Really brings back some good memories. Thanks for sharing.

  • Dope solo

  • I'm breathless! Great "live" clip! Dave was on fire with those chords that influenced everybody in rock.

  • Fantastic. HOW garage/punk is THIS? It sounds so damned rough, and unrehearsed, and I love when Dave hits the wrong note and looks off at Ray and smiles. Fabulous. Long live the mighty Kinks. They truly do not get their due, compared with Beatles, Stones, Who. Ray WAS a genius and has one of the single greatest voices in rock history.

  • I totally agree- with the Beatles, Stones they never got the recognition they sooooooo deserved.

  • wooow , the kinks are fantastic, the cover is poor

  • i love this song

  • my god.. this music looks like grunge!! the grunge of nirvana, pearl jam..

  • you should try "the sonics "

  • Kinksa are just ....GREAT!

  • I love the way chords go,kinda like a precurser to punk.

  • i think so too.. that's what makes kinks so 'cool'

  • yeah dude totally... dave davies pioneered the power chord and fuzz guitar :)

  • gotta luv this 'class'

  • The real beauty of this is that it's a live recording? Almost unheard of back thin.

    Kinks FOREVER

  • *nods with satisfaction*

  • they look to happy

  • Rip through it, fellas! This is great.

  • i love this song

  • this the real beat music

    fucking good

  • wow! i don't know how they didn't become so popular, if ya wanna hear some good kinks, message me

  • fantastic video and a great song
