@PBRMafia if the water had just flooded the bow from the start, there wouldnt be any water in the lower interiors of the ship which was clearly seen by moss hills in the video of the sinking. because of an outdated & shoddy sewer system, water was allowed to enter the pipes through a vent underwater & because one of the pipes couldnt take the pressure of the water running through it, it sprung a leak allowing the water to flood the loweer compartments.

I was on this boat the year before it sank, on a cruise in the Aegean. She had what I call "attack toilets." When you'd done your business, you had to flush and then immediately flee the head (bathroom) and shut the door. The reason: your "business" would indeed go down the drain as desired, but on the refill, the amount of air in the faulty pipes would produce a geyser out of the toilet. We didn't keep our towels or toiletries in there. That tells you something about the plumbing.

What the hell is up with the Greeks? I can't keep up with all their ferry sinkings and cruise ship sinkings over the past two decades. I mean, let's just get real here. I went on a cruise to Egypt on a ship called the MV Atalante, It was built in 1972 but had been rebuilt from the hull up 3 times and it was still a bit rough around the edges. BUT I WOULD TOTALY RECOMEND EVERYONE TO CRUISE FROM CYPRUS TO EGYPT on it its briliant (if not a bit expensive)
