  • Finally Steven Jansen at 6:30. Normally I hate jazz drumming but this is great! Not showing off but just so interesting and tuneful.

  • David - i love you!

  • just loved the last comment oh so bloody true x

  • Song from the superb CD...Nine Horses...

  • Every Mr. Silvyan project is better than the last... if that is possible...

  • The Nine horses CD is superb (of which this song is from) ...the best of the best...like the perfect sequel to Brilliant Trees...it seemed to slip into the world without much ceremony, and you have to find it at David's web site...I could not find it on Amazon....

  • I love David Sylvian. Always have. Did not know he had been knighted :-).

  • I saw Mr Sylvian in London back in 2001 and it was magical! Live his music takes on a life of it's own...I wish I could have recorded it all! This is WONDERFUL ;-) thanks

  • heavan seeing him in manchester (david mellor poet you tube)

  • This is the new jazz. Coltrane and his sticks man would be smiling down upon this, surely?

  • A great video, I'm off to look for more of David.

  • Does anybody know if he still lives in the US?

  • Yes. I bumped into him two months ago in a store in Boston. He remembered me from the previous time....a good two years prior, where I'd bumped into him in a book store in Cambridge.

A really sweet guy and fantastic artist.

  • I wish I could be lucky to see Sir David Sylvian performing on stage, one day! Til there, I keep dreaming with an (remote?)opportunity to include Brazil (specifically, Rio de Janeiro) on the list of the next tour! Please, Mr. David, don´t stop!!! Yes, Sir David has Brazilian fans!!!

  • Yeah, including me! O.o I´m from Rio de Janeiro too, I know a lot of people who would love to see mr. Sylvian around here! o/

    Love,

    Erika

  • I was lucky enough to see David twice on the world is everything tour - he surpassed everything I had imagined. He is so eloquent, intelligent, talented and wonderful (and that voice mmmmm) He has my upmost respect now and always. Two evenings I will never forget!

  • he is definitely one of the best and i promise you will never forget his concerts if you were lucky enough like me.

  • Wonderful David....a quando un altro tour?

    thanks!

  • Thank you for posting this. I traveled from San Francisco to San Sebastian Spain to see him in concert, only to find out upon arrival that the concert was cancelled... how do you say seriously bummed in the basque dialect? At least there is this. john

  • C'mon david, whack your concerts on the net, we'll pay, beg borrow or steal for them

  • ahah that´s true!

    couldn´t agree more !

    ;)

  • I love the energy in this performance!

When the instrumental part kicks in at 3:23 it gives me the chills.

And of course Davids fantastic voice :)

  • Zen-mastership..:-)

  • Just love it, brings back memories of a trip to New York a few years ago, sipping on a hot cup of coffee just watching the world go by. Thank you for the last 28 years David, and all the music you added to my life.

  • Thank God David Sylvian, his unique voice, his songwriting and his great band are able to give genuine music lovers some real art in a day where Grammy's are given to thugs, and artistic quality means you won on American Idol.

  • great vid. he has the best voice in the universe. he has moved me to tears for years. i love his music so much and it's amazing to finally see all this footage since i've been i/net deprived for months. thinking it may be my only chance to see him, i flew to lisbon (scraped up all me pennies to get there) and it was cancelled. it's been a dream for 25 years and just didn't come off. broke my heart. please come to australia some time xxx

  • Wonderful music! Nothing like a nice piece of 9/8 in the evening!

    Ruby

    XoX

  • From Japan to the best that you can get.....

  • Zen-music for Cyberia. Avant-guardian angels and muses..heap-hoop for souls of the land of Tumorrau..

  • It's a Wonderful David......

  • And thank god David does his own thing otherwise we would have an industry full of Simon Cowell prodiges.Another commendable artists are Bill Nelson and Andy Partridge.

  • totaly agree bebop were underated

  • Bill Nelson = Genius

  • I'm not sure he's scared of success. I'm pretty certain he's a stubborn artist who wants to make the music he wants to make, regardless of whether it's going to sell large amounts of records. God bless him for it, too.

  • hes scared of success

  • it's not important to him. A true artist

  • he tries not kiss ass, haha.

  • He was the lead singer of Japan, once one of the most successful pop bands, and considered by many as a precursor to Duran Duran, etc. David Sylvian has had that kind of success, and must have found it profoundly empty and shallow; how could it be otherwise, given his extremely high taste and intellect. I guess he has had enough of being a commercially successful pop star earning money from armies of teenies, and decided to become a true musician and artist instead.

  • saw him at the bridgewater hall manchester 07 first couple of songs couldnt hear that well, was up in the gods thou, afther that fantastic!!!

  • Its a wonderful world ,Wonderlust, wonder why i like him ?,but i do.

  • sylvian is so under rated, hes fantastic.

  • Great concert - was there in Brussels on 20/9/07 - thanks for posting these gentlemen.

  • brilliant!

  • Sylvian is the most piss poor promoted artist in the US. He is one of the best of our time for Christ sake! Why aren't these concerts commercially available??? It is so wrong!!!

  • If I could sing as good as that...

Truly one of the greatest voices ever in this world.

I have snow borne sorrow on cd. He does the female part extremely well! Argh I must see him!

  • nine horses, great

  • saw him do this live. really moving. tear-jerking!

  • Just love it...any chance he might come near York or Leeds in the future...

  • great song

  • I love this song.... So smooth... so emotional... so powerful.

  • this is beautiful!

  • I totally agree with you Tina!

  • His voice is like a hot chocolate on a cold winter day, smooth and silky, slipping down your ear and warming your heart!

So, I can hardly wait to hear him live, first in Skopje, and then back home in Belgrade! That would be the fulfilment of one of my dreams! Thank you!

  • His music just reminds me of one of my favourite movies, Until the End of the World, where two characters, amidst the threat of a malfunctioned satellite destroying the Earth, were travelling around the world in pursuit of their dreams, when they finally found them with the help of a virtual machine and became so addicted they didn't wanted to wake up. That is what Sylvian's music is for me. A dream I don't want to wake up from into the realities of this world!

  • Great comment

  • Yesterday in Groningen was super!

  • magical mystery tour :-)

  • It was wonderful indeed yesterday in Amsterdam

  • i really wish i could see this tour. please come to new orleans sometime, okay?

    david looks great, btw.
