Okay, let me clarify.

1. You have to press the buttons in a specific order for it to work.

2. It only works with 3DS, Tomodachi Collection, and that personal walking trainer thing ON ANY DS MODEL. THEY'RE EXACTLY THE SAME.

3. You need THE LATEST WII UPDATE. If you're using Homebrew, you probably don't have this.

Tomodachi Collection works with this. It's Japan only. Basically, your Mii is your friend and you take care of it or whatever. You know, DS/Wii interaction is really underused. It would be great if the DS worked kind of like a controller with a screen for a lot of games, but it doesn't. Oh man. Pac Man Vs. would be great on the Wii. Too bad the DS has already been replaced and the Wii will be late next year.

Look at these noobs writing "Not working".  You have to press these buttons *IN ORDER* (not at once) and then hold the 2 button. Maybe you probably don't own a DSi yet, but the option is up there just in case you get one.

Coming from someone who did this once before, and tried to do it again on a friend's Wii. I dont know why but for some reason it doesnt work on his Wii. I did if before, and I can do it again, but not on his Wii.... Oh well, he will have to wait until Nintendo just updates the Mii channel to have it done for you.

Yeah that bugged me too, I can't find the original video anywhere. But a couple have sites have links to another site discussing said video, and the posts are dated sometime in 2007.

Nonetheless the code was still a good find, I am just surprised it wasn't discovered earlier.

You don't need the latest update, this is over a year old. There was a video online before showing this over a year ago but we all assumed it was something someone made up with homebrew or something. Seems we were wrong.
