I have had the same problem with my lg tv I was able to find out the cause it is not the tv signal on my one It only happend when the tv was conencted to another input/source such as a dvd player or a xbox 360 and if it was powered on Make sure nothing else is on when you press the guide button
We Bought an LG 50" only to discover it was KNOWN to be faulty when sold to us. It has taken LG 8 months and still no-one has come to fix the freezing & synching issue. Instead they gave instructions via email (after 6 months!) to transform TV back to an anologue TV - defeats the purpose of buying this unit. Their service is rubbish. We've been ignored from day 1. Basically LG were aware of the fault.
my fault had actually been repaired within 2 weeks 1st week they cam out had a look said could be signal but done a full reset and said see how it goes, then few days later they came to pick it up to do software updates and got it back few days later problem all fixed

hi Call LG and you should be able to get a software upgrade to resolve the issues it did with mine
