oh yeah, a whole world apart.

Every person has his own thoughts when playing one of these guitars.

A les paul has a thicker dark sound, more sustain, I prefer that kind of tone for the stuff I play. But a strat is great for other things. It has a sound with more bite, less sustain, clearer sound, perfect for stuff like Deep Purple or Hendrix.

cant speak for the latest mexican made Fender strats. Mine is a 1992 model, back when Fender started making guitars in México.

But Ive heard the new models are really good, close to an american model, and for half the price.

Some professionals prefer mexican models, Ive read some people dont see the point on spending the double for the same quality. But thats just what Ive heard/read :P Dont know for sure.

I can only speak for my old fender... way better than a new american model
