  • Explain why it's a deathtrap.

  • Mute the stupid ass music.

  • that things a piece of crap just like the music

  • IT WASN'T!!

  • How was that a death trap?

  • Damnit, I fuckin hate Euro techno-trash synth music. Seriously, wtf is wrong with you people?

  • @rongay80 your comment is so gay, like your name, and your whole family

  • pathetic music wrecks the vid

  • am i wrong or does that look remarcably like the german DRAGONFLY of ww2

  • Wasnt a deathtrap. The soviets back then made pretty stable craft. Very slow, and I would not fly it into battle even in 69. A rip off of a German design, but hey when you invade poland and lose the war, you deserve to have your technology ripped off. lol :0

  • @RobSar63 Both countries invaded Poland.

  • That video makes the music fun to listen to!!

  • Heyyyy! This vid aint half bad once you hit mute!

  • Why did you rip a few vids and layer stupid music on them....get a life

  • @tonyr1973 right like u lol ok

  • haha it blew up!

  • Heavy lifter - yes...certainly wouldn't set any records in getting anywhere in a hurry. (which is the point of a heavy military transport)

  • Doesn't look dangerous or unsafe to me .

  • flying building...lol

  • Your Osprey V 22 was a f?ck!ng death trap,

this helo can lift a couple of Osprays inside and was safe.

The sovjet airforce had just no use for it because Mi-26 was already planned and constructed. Mi-26 was faster and had a overall better characteristics.

    f?ck u-r english.

  • death trap? where? why?

  • i would agree 'flying death trap' it looks very unsafe

  • flying deathtraps? I was waiting for a crash

  • damn that thing is huge, and cool, the russians are really good at building hug crap... just look a the absoulutly enourmous An 225. i wish this had gone into production

  • @mongorians22 An 225 wasnt russian ; ukrainian

  • @bluenail90 USSR was what I meant

  • i think the title this helicoptor should be given is 'Would largest Prototype helicopter' Because it never into production. There are loads of people say the MI-12 is the largest helo in the world, the thing never went into production so in my eyes at the moment the MI-26 Halo still holds the title of largest helicopter in the world, and untill intill something else gets built and put into production in my eyes it we maintain that title !!

  • @whitewingsrich People from the WGBOR think otherwise, that's why it's the biggest in the books.

  • If any1 plays cod the pavelow is also one of the biggest in the world

  • biggest helicopter in the world is this 1, the biggest plane is the AN-225, is fucking huge, but honestly this helicopter isn't even like a helicopter, looks just like a big plane with rotors, similar to the osprey, I think that these should be put under their on category

  • @Nazizombies97 The V-22 Osprey is a tilt-rotor aircraft where as this is just a helicopter

  • It slices, it dices, it chops, juliennes and makes perfect French fries and cole slaw. Only $19.95! But wait, there's more! Order NOW and get a MiG-21, absolutely FREE! Operators are standing by!

  • The germans built someting like that (of course a lot smaller) back in the 40's, din't work, project abandoned. The Russians made this one pretty nice but the idea wasn't good, project abandoned.

Now the US made the V-22 osprey the thing is still a bad idea, keeps crashing, setting itself on fire, a complete mantineance burden but still funded and built and they say its a revolutionary idea of an aircraft, so did the germans with the dragonfly (the name of their heli) back in the 40's.

  • The military in Russian can't rely on their crappy roads so they have to have these heavy lift aircraft.

  • It was as big as the USSR :D Imagine how the chief designer convinced the politburo to fund this project...

  • @blqkvo

Easily. It can take a nuclear ballistic missile anywhere.

  • SURPRISEEEEE!

  • humongous. Looks like it would dwarf a chinook.

  • @LaughatNAZIs

    natomission. ru/ multimedia/ foto/ 17/ show/ 1/

Mi-26 Halo (which is smaller than Mi-12) carrying a damaged Chinook away from the battlefield somewhere near Kandahar

  • so fucking big dude

  • Who else thinks this can mount a howitzer and a couple of cannons like the AC-130?

  • :/ this is not an airplane

  • Why Deathtrap!!!

There is another clip of this on youtube and gives safety specs

    Sounded pretty advanded to me

    Ugly nah, just mean looking

  • THE BEST!!!

  • Actually, as funny as it looks, it's actually of the same design as the original German helicopters of WW2. Interesting fact about that, the original demonstrator was flown by a woman test pilot as men were too heavy for the new 'flying machine'.

  • Yeah had me thinging of that two rotor german craft. Actually a successful load lifter but few were produced.

  • I wonder what sort of autorotation characteristics this thing would have had?

  • Wow..what a beast

  • watch?v=kKsWTdjnXiw

Death trap? I don't know where you got that from but it certainly wasn't, if anything Sovyet helicopters are renowned for their safety.

  • @WouterJ Isn't there a soviet helicopter that is known for chopping off it's own tail rotor? ;D

  • @WouterJ-Um, no they're not. The russian hind was known to chop it's own tail fin off. "Renowned for their safety" my ass.

  • YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS!!!

  • MI-12

    First flight 10 July 1968

Max takeoff weight: 105,000 kg (231,500 lb)

  • That thing is damn ugly...

  • to (coldbassplayer)

yeah :) do you have one in Mexico??

    I guess not :)

well you have some cactus vodka :)

  • Pfff, why would we need something like that?

  • we need it to transport big things from onre point to thie other!!! This isnt komply

  • It was designed to carry supplies to the oil field in the Ural where there were no airfields big enough for cargo aircraft to land were situated.

Mexico DOES have the second biggest chopper in service though, the MIL 26 "Halo"

  • The No.1 flying deathtrap? the lockheed sterfighter. Asf the luftwaffe!.

  • stupid fucking stolen meaningless video - what do you mean flying deathtrap??? Idiot

  • I'll bet that thing was a handful.

  • BI BI BIGG HELI

  • Did this thing ever crash? I don't think so since there was only one and it's on display in a aircraft museum. The flying death trap designation would go to an American aircraft-the V-22 Osprey hands down in terms of lives lost.

  • I agree, such a description sounds more like CIA cold war anti-Soviet propaganda than truth. In fact it sounds like something from the mind of a wing-nut. They only ever built two of these and neither crashed. It is one ugly bird though.

And you could not pay me enough to climb into an Osprey.

  • Actually they made two prototypes and they both survive, the one in the museum is the second Prototype and the first is kept at the Mil Factory as a Gate watch.

  • Horrible music.

  • uve just taken another video added some chav music and done about 3 seconds of nothing at the end
