I believe that people dont like halo because Halo takes a lot more skill than CoD. Halo requires great percision while CoD is more of tactical game play. If you get shot at first and Halo you have an actual chance of surviving and killing the opponet. While in CoD it depends on who has the better gun (or higher level) or the better camping spot.

I play both games but CoD is ruined by things like camping and the "Noob Tubes." But both are great and fun games.

Basically it's a completely different game style. I alternate between the two and for the first couple of games I find it hard to adjust, simply because halo is a bit more run and gun with more open environments than CoD, which as you mentioned is more tactical. I don't believe Halo and CoD can really be a compared though just on the basis that in both you shoot a gun.

Halo takes much more control, precision, and consistency with aiming but because of this you don't really need to pay attention to tactics and can run around in the middle of the map but if you are good enough you can do well. in cod it isn't as much about aiming as it is about reaction times and tactical play. this tactical play isn't necessarily camping it could be flanking around a wall or knowing where your cover is. they both take skill tho

Halo 3 is more fair and balanced, and therefore better for skill-based competition (same weapons on spawn, power weapons are usually spaced out, every thing is constant), whereas COD is realistic, and personally, more fun... but COD being in MLG, seriously? that's retarded. COD has too many variables to make it a true competition of skill.

I agree with you to about how CoD has too many variables, but saying CoD is realistic is wrong. You should say MORE realistic than Halo :P

But CoD IS used for competitive gaming, it became more skill based after the PC community made promod for them. This eliminates some of the variables and levels the playing field. I can't say the same for consoles, where no mods are available.
