  • love it

  • I love tammy but apparently he was a drunken violent asshole and i got that from a few sources one being a tv documentary.

  • when george dies we should make it a national holiday !!!!! Damn i need another beer

  • Some stars can never be replaced......Tammy Wynette was one of a kind and never the likes of which will ever be seen or heard again.

  • My golden ring's turned 2 " Tarnish " !!

  • i love this song:)

  • Love George and Tammy they sure loved each other.

  • classic George and Tammy!

  • I am rock, hip hop..sorta modern stuff fan... but I LOVE this song!!

  • look at his face fake love he never loved her they was both afraid look at the video pay attention to facial expressions

  • @moneyzia wow,,, i guess you got all of us figured out,,,,, you probably should be hired to pass judgement on all of us,, because you are so gifted in seeing through it all,, after all you understood those facial expressions

  • @moneyzia Beautiful, The song ,the voices and the lirics combine to paint a portrait of a life of poverty. Especially the last line tells of the next couple repeating the actions and following in a virtually pedetermined rythem of mental and financial poverty.

  • i hit my ex with the ring he gave me over this song

  • As they fight their final round, beautiful song writing.

  • with this ring i thee wed,.. so few words to say, to start a lifes journey together.

  • number 1 duet of all time

  • two of best voices to ever be heard

  • makes me cry

  • When I call my baby's phone...this is her ring tone!

  • You can tell he feels uncomfortable singing this with her.

  • Best country duo ever - miss Tammy - still love George !

  • Long Black Veil?

  • Though the Queen of country was taken from us too soon, the King still rules the world of music they shared. Long live the King!

  • These 2 are incredible! Wow!

  • Bless their hearts.

  • PURE MAGIC THE GREATEST.

  • We're they not both crying at the end? It was great to watch the beautiful singing, but the personal side of George did show with some affection and Tammy did show that she can do the performance regardless, yet with the sadness of a relationship gone wrong.

  • @rfish54 Not crying, wiping off his spit..lol

  • Even after all these decades, this song is pure country at its finest. We have this album on vinyl... now I'm looking for it on CD!

  • this song must have been hard to sing after they were divorced

  • Oh, how I miss you tonight (Tammy!), miss you when lights are low...

  • George jones ! Should become the King of Country , hes the best of all time!. not one well ever sing like george jones

  • Who's Ralph talking to at the beginning?

  • @FacesSmiling Larry Gatlin.

  • @FacesSmiling LOOKS LIKE LARRY GATLIN TO ME

  • They're crying!

  • 2 morons don't know great country music

  • buttery smooth!

  • Lol,he spit on her twice on TV! Real nice...Awesome song by 2 of the all time greats!!!

  • It's all in the eyes and body language.

  • Tammy's voice was truly sent from God.

  • I am glad that several years after the divorce they became good friends. He had a good thing with her, but the alcohol and drug use killed their relationship. I believe that his near-fatal car wreck, which took place a year after she died, may have finally broke him.

  • This is one great video. If only a handful of country singers were this good today! Thanks for posting

  • Tammy Wynette was married to George Jones and in a interview she said " That when ever George would get drunk he would beat the hell of her Tammy Wynette." George always had a drinking problem. She passed way a couple of years ago. Poor Tammy

  • I love this song and Tammy & George!!

    5 stars to you for sharing: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

  • everybody has been through this

  • This is a great song! I love it! Although to me it's worth a like and not a favorite.

  • i was visting my grandfather in south carolina and this song plays on the radio all the time :) i love this song

  • @123szd 94.3 Country Legends in Columbia, SC is where its at

  • Ralph Emery? Miss him.

  • Too painful to watch...

  • The King and Queen. Now that's Country.

  • @XOkie

I was heart broken when they broke up. Still great music.

  • @XOkie the queen should be named first :-)

  • they are the best. next to conway and loretta..

  • You know damn well Tammy loved George till her end, the way she always looked at him, it was LOVE !!!! BUT there is nothing worse than loving someone so much and still not be able to help them, I've been there and done that , BUT I still love the guy to this very day and had hoped one day Larry and I could of finally got it together, but it still hasn't happened yet !!!

  • Priceless.

  • i wish my hair looked like tammys lol

  • Thanks for sharing!!!!!

  • Their harmony is impeccable. Like Vern Gosdin, Tammy said he was the only singer to hold a candle to George Jones.

I've given up on people who say they dislike something like this.

  • How do the lyrics go?.......between love and hate, there's a little thin line; and I'm trying to hate you, right out of my mind.

This song fits them so well.......what a tear jerker. What a loss it was when Tammy passed away. I'd love to see them on stage singing today.

  • George could never be an actor. he wears his heart on his sleeve. i always like to see the way that he lovingly gazes at Tammy-even during their reunion in the 90s.

  • It was awkward but goddamn did it sound good. They had such chemistry onstage.

  • I love this song. My grandma turned me on to George and Tammy, and I'm passing him on to my daughter. God bless country music!

  • That's awesome, they can make light of their divorce and part as friends....he put his arm around her and she didn't pull back.

  • I don't think people should talk about the way it was with George and Tammy. Leave it alone.

  • One of my favorite songs.

  • My all time favorite duet singers. Even after the divorce, there's so much chemistry. Reminds me of my ex and me <3

  • their lives are theirs,I just love watching them sing

  • I know she is a better woman than I am. No way would I even consider standing that close to my ex, much less sing a song w/ him. This is a wonderful song they do a wonderful job together!

  • I love this song more than anything. When students ask me about harmony.....oddly I think this one of the rare times when Tammy is a little more "on" than GJ... who is always the best ever even here...but she seems like she has something to prove and he just holds it down and lets her prove it.... sly like

  • this was mom and dads song i grew up hearing it dad is gone now and it hurts every time i hear it but can never turn it off thank rip dad

  • Amen............and then some.

  • it kills me when he sings her name in the last verse.

  • Did anyone else cry at the end or am I just a pansy?

  • So wonderful!! :)

  • you can clearly see the hurt in her eyes and in her voice.

  • Such a great video - Thanks for this post!

  • Magic,, pure and simple...

  • Together, they sure made beautiful music!!!

  • @redwing46901 I agree but you can see why, he used to put her on the spot, on stage by saying tammy says one things for certain and in other performeces at the end of this song he would say 'Tammy can i ask you something, do you still love me. It was passive agressive, but he did his share of griping about tammy. They only became friends again when she nearly died in 1994 and then they did that album together and he stopped doing that. Nancy his has been a good influence on George.

  • @redwing46901

    so true!

  • @redwing46901 Both Tammy & George were excellent musicians & singers; hwr, George Jones was an out and out drunk & substance abuser. Don't ask me how he survived it. I'm still trying to figure out how my birth father's still alive after yrs, 55+yrs of abuse & he's still alive only he's burned every bridge he's ever had b/c he's a mean drunk who beat the shit out of his children, me esp as the oldest daughter & our Mother when she made appearances @ home; I left & took lil' bro w/hope of normalcy

  • @redwing46901 yea and together they where the best

  • @MyJustified if u havent watched another live version of this song he says it in everyone even when they were married

  • You can tell they are still in love with each other, she crys and he gives her a comforting hug!

  • ohhhhh That was some tension! She looked like she wanted to slap the daylights out of him. SMILES for the camera.

  • 2:42 I think maybe he spit on her when he sang "at a PAWN shop in Chicago" lol. then again before the end...you can hear the annoyance in her voice...lol

  • @sarahstewart82

it's true, he did spit on her during this particular performance twice. Tammy always said the way that Jones sang just drove her up the wall because he would sing through clenched teeth. It took ages during sessions with Billy Sherrill to finally get him to lower his pitch and to loosen up his jaw. Pure magic nonetheless.

  • a magical paring of voices

  • who cares about what happened - just enjoy the music

  • Wow! You can see the tension between them. Great song though.

  • @keith904A I don't see any tension at all. I just see regret, from both of them. With divorce, there is always regret, always (take it from me!). I agree with you, though, it is truly a great song.

  • lol every video ive seen with them two singing ith eachother , george always accidently spits at tammy lol =P she must of been use to it .. But its cute how they still kiss eachother on the lips even in other videos when they are married to others!

  • It's the possum, he's not that smart, it's a song about a ring

  • @Fugly58 fuck off and listen song and dont bicth about it

  • This song is older than I am...but I love it! :D

  • All I can say is, that was awkward!

  • great vid, must have been awkward for a divorced couple to sing a love song, lol

  • watch George at the end he spits on Tammy

  • Damn, if I could only get a girl to look at me the way Tammy looks at George in this clip. Two greats at the top of their game, great great video.

  • @maxfrost68 RIP TAMMY YOUR MUSIC IS SADLY MISSED

  • @maxfrost68 Well, you'd have to rescue a woman and her child from an abusive husband, and then marry her, and give her hell, and then divorce her...And THEN you could sing with her and get THAT LOOK. Lol!

  • @maxfrost68 no shit. instead they look at you with their hand out waiting for you to put some money in it
