  • Hey Jake! Sound great, just got to work on your face expression, We used to sit and was jamming in my apartment in queens in Sunnyside where used to Joe Pass was visiting me quite often, if you remember me and like to get in touch my email michael3158030@yahoo.com my best regards. Michael.

  • I also hear some Ed Bickert in there. Great playing!

  • Epic playin but i don't think i'v seen anyone so upset lol

  • One of the best guitar solos from this tune I've ever heard. I could get some of it stuck in my head all day. Especially the 2nd chorus... congratulations :)

  • felizidades!! buena tecnic!! Dont you break a lot your fingernails with the steel strings?' I try but keep ruining mime!!! any advice por favor!! mercy!1

  • this is good, he is a good player, I like the way he plays, I wish I could play like that, I admire all the hard work and practise that has gone in to get this good, I too would like to be a good player, I play well too, this guy plays well, his style is one that I wish to emulate, i like it

  • the "Eh..." in the end is cool

  • ahh man! your alterations on the dominants are really hip! This is one of my favorite tunes, and you do it and joe pass justice

  • Hey Jake, congrats, man. You don't see many jazz players using up+down strokes with all plectrum fingers to get the 16th notes, especially in the chord licks. Wow! Sign me up, if I can get your email from the little box above. It flashes on and off a bit too fast. You're a major talent!

  • its amazing you are making all orquestration of a path metheny version including the piano frases awsome

  • I love your playing! I jam with you often!! :)))

  • He's like... Have I left the cooker on? Cheers up for fuck sake man! Your playing sweet tunage.

  • GREAT,,,beatiful music,,,you have nails on fingers?

  • Man you really make that guitar talk.

  • Great!!!!!

  • great, man! You can hear the changes in your lines. Perfect time, great swing, great taste....just a problem: if I was a bass player or a drumer, I would hate you, cause with guitar players like that, the rythm section is not necesary at all !!!...lol

  • i can definitely hear joe pass in your playing. well done!

  • Witch GUITAR is that black thing? It got a very good sound

    Thank you

  • Thanks! This an Ibanez AG75.

  • @jreichbart

Reason for removing the bridge PUP? How does it sound acousticly, is it loud enough for practice?

    Love your playing and arrangements.

  • @jreichbart Had one in blue-burst, didn;t give myself enough time to "bond" with the 75, then foolishly sold it. using an Ibanez as 73. Thanks for an inspiring vid

  • @pjrow it says Ibanez on it!

  • In the lingo of today's Jazz students...."I just got piped." Great as always Jake.

    Brian Jett

  • I know that you have said this in some place. But it is very peculiar your expresion in your face, you are playing incredible virtuoso things, and you look like you are thinking in other things.

    :-O

    ;-)

  • Wow men i have not words.

I think you are a genius of the guitar, every video i see from you,is incredible. You have to do records with your special versions,a lot of records, ones with jazz tunes, other with pop tunes, other with trio, you are really amazing and inspiring.

  • Truly outstanding version. You're depressingly good - depressing insofar as I think I should give up & take up macramé...

  • Your so good it's phucked up. Really. I want to light a match to my balls now.

  • i lol'd hard @ this

  • Bravo, Jake - nice job! You really have done a nice tribute to Joe here. I think I first heard Joe in the early '60s - definitely one of the all time greats. What I really like is that you captured the feel of Joe's music but still made it your own. I'll definitely watch for other stuff you post.

  • WOW

    this is just amazing!

I found this video very inspiring.

  • Ur a monster player guy! I stumbled onto ur stuff my mistake ..... wow what a great mistake it has been... really enjoy listening 2 u.... Where u from.. do u play out alot?.....KEEPON STRUMMIN.............Dallas

  • Thanks! Yes, I play out a lot (economy permitting), I'm very active in the southeast Michigan region which includes Detroit. About 60% of my gigs are solo and the rest are with various groups, ranging from folk, jazz, Latin, church (and Temple) to rock, funk and even some metal - whatever gig I can get. I am first (or second) call for many music contractors so I play shows, accompany artists from out of town, etc. I have some trio videos as well, please check 'em out. Thanks again!

  • wow!!

  • I´m also your subscriber now, Jake !

Keep doing this great solo guitar !

    Regards

    Julio

  • fantastico! all the things are good.

    thnks for posting

  • I like this because you aren't trying to be "Hip" and out there like every other guitarist now a days. 5 stars...

  • Nice job, Jake! Seamless and smooth as always. Joe would be honored.

  • What strings and amp do you use?

  • Hi. Please don't forget to subscribe. I go direct using a Yamaha DG Stomp and I use standard 12-52 string gauge which I buy bulk. Thanks for watching!

  • I am using a DG stomp too, but all the settings I use for jazz guitar sounded too compressed.

How do you set your stomp?

  • That's my "trick"! On the Stomp, as well as my other DG amps (I have 3) I don't use the clean settings. Instead, I use Crunch 2 with the gain set pretty low, maybe 2 or 3, and I use the other controls to find my tone. Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for your tip.

  • Great song,fine job.*****

  • dude, awesome version, loving the groove !

  • How do you do it Jake? Awesome.

  • Hey Paul, nice to hear from you, one of my very first commenters, I'm always grateful. I just uploaded the other day a tune by a fellow countryman of yours, Joe Jackson, check it out.

  • i love it iv always wanted a guitar like that 5/5 u should come check out my vid its not as good but still ok ...5/5 tho sweet
