yes but there are being retire in the next 5 years or so because most of them are 42 years old.

@muz469 My first visit to Chicago, I was so surprised at how much the subways looked like NYC's. Even the metrocard machines, and the cards themselves. I don't know exactly when NYC tore down or began tearing down the elevated subways within Manhattan.
