I have the acoustic version on my iPod, so I was shocked to hear this polished version. I understand it makes the song more radio friendly, but the beat is too busy and overpowers Dawn's voice. Not to mention; it takes away from the emotion of the song. The music doesn't mesh well with the vocals i.m.o. I love Dawn and these lyrics, but SMFU won't get far sounding like this. Everybody arguing needs to have several seats. And the Brandy comparisons are getting old. Dawn & B-rocka do have the similar tones but Dawn can't help that. She's sounded like this from the beginning! It's only noticeable now bc she's solo. Brandy has never had an Alternative/Rock/Pop sound, like Dawn does. Brandy's style is very smooth R&B, while Dawn's is edgy & raw. Two different artists - BOTH AMAZING. Chill the fuck out, lol!

Listen to Perfect Love and Stand Back, both tracks have a heavy "country" influence. Torn Down and Camouflage from her Human album are purely POP. As for edgy the first half of her Full Moon album is a mix of pop, R&B, electro and experimental sounds i.e What About Us, Apart, All In Me (has dubstep elements). Brandy's voice is very versatile and can sound "raw & edgy."
