Freeview is an absolute joke. The HD channels are a dumping ground for old movies and repeats of old sitcoms with very little HD content.

The same is true of HD, but the missing info is undetectable. Then there's the annoying channel logos, even on HD channels... (cont).

Freeview in Australia is a joke.

I sell tv's at an electronic retailer and i feel sorry for people who buy $3-4000 tele's thinking they're future-proofed.

Sure they'll get the 15 channels now, but give it a couple of years and Freeview will undoubtedly change the broadcast format from MPEG2 to MPEG4, meaning they'll still have to buy a new set top box to receive any extra channels.

Freeview and what the government is doing is fucked.

This is so true. Esp about 9 starting shows late. All of the free to air channels start their shows late to overlap the other channels. Hoping that you'll miss the start of a show on another channel and decide to stay watching them. It's not smart, it's annoying. I never watch FTA if I can help it.
