  • She goes off-key a lot.

  • i watched this for the dress. I freakin want one.

  • this is kinda sucking up bc andrew lloyd webber wrote this song

  • @actastmatthews They didn't get to choose the songs they sang, I think. Until like the last show when they got to pick their best one to sing again.

  • @actastmatthews They dont have a chose what song they sing :)

  • @actastmatthews He didn't write Les Mis.

  • @actastmatthews Do your research-ALW didn't write Les Miserables. It was originally done by Cameron Mackintosh 26 years ago, on an adaptation of the Victor Hugo book of the same name! Danielle didn't choose this song to sing, it was given to her.

  • Really good! Shes the perfect Dorothy not the perfect Eponine though

  • @ChemicalRave I agree... she tried to get into the character... but I didn't feel any emotion...

  • I agree apart from the pretending bit near the end this was a really good performance from Danielle.

  • Shes gorgeous!!

  • 'pretending'....ouch!

  • Danielle is clearly a star - she is also a very good actress and good to look at so she could end up in the movies

  • whats this song called?? I wanna try to sing it!! xxx Thanks help me please guys xx

  • @charvics on my own from les miserables :)

  • @TheTomBales Thank u xxx

  • i don't think she realizes how bad that little 'pretending' was!

  • That "pretending" note is painful. Otherwise it's a good try.

  • @thejollyroger2008 its hard song to sing

  • i love her dress :]

  • alw IS the west end... (IMO)

  • The BBC is all about London, this show should be touring not just lining ALW's pocket., but if this is the best they can do glad I will never see it

  • Les Miserables Fail.

  • @MasterIsh91 It may not be the best interpretation of this, but as a singer myself, I know how difficult this song is to sing. It is incredibly difficult, some really hard notes. I recently saw Samantha Barks sing this in the 25th Anniversary showing of Les Miserables, she was struggling too, as did Lea Salonga in the 10th Anniversary viewing, and Lea Salonga is amazing at any role she takes on. Give Danielle a chance, she wasn't a professional, and I think she handled it pretty well!

  • @RoseTylerxx I don't think Lea Salonga struggled at all, the notes are only hard when you push them. Given some proper training this is technically a very easy song.

  • this really isn't great, what's the west end coming to

  • shes way to nazely she cant hit the noats not a good song choice she should of sang a alto not alot saprano

  • @bodboy106, ALW is destroying the west end

  • Comment removed

  • she is just stunning; i love everything she stands for - the perfect dorothy EVER! cant wait to go see her next year - i love her! WOOT DANIELLE! x

  • Hahahaha this makes me laugh :)

    Pre-ten-DAAAAAAAAAANG!!

She's so charming, i just adore this girl, i don't see how anyone can't :p

  • IMHO apart from the 'pretending' bit which was a bit shouty, i think she sang this song very well with all the emotion needed, and she acted the song by assuming the character. so i don't c y sum people say the performance was dreadful. 2 b honest i rather c a musical theatre performer b a brilliant actress but still sings very well (danielle), than a performer whos a brilliant singer but lacks on the acting side and doesn't put enough emotion in to songs.

  • @roseschocolate1 I think the objection a lot of people will have is that the emotion expressed appears to be, well, wrong. The song seems to be treated here as some kind of triumphal declaration of love as opposed to what it's supposed to be; a tragic realization of her (Eponine's) hopeless situation. To my ears, at least, there's none of that desperation in this performance, a fact made worse by the percussion-heavy backing. Rewatch 1:00 to 1:25 and tell me it's not totally wrong emotionally.

  • Not as good as the original

  • Eurgh the 'pretending' makes me cringe.. So shoutyy.. Thank goodness her acting makes up for it. She just needs to strengthen her voice!! :-(

  • lmao musical week on a musical theatre talent show? lmao

  • Pre-tan-dannng!!

What the hell? Can't believe the Judges didn't pick up on that!

  • she gives me goosebumps...amazing

  • I fall in love with Danielle in this performance

  • It was pretty good. Apart from pre den daaaaaing. She needs to work on the high notes a bit. Anyway she won't be singing this song in The wizard of Oz. She hasn't got the best voice in the world. But it's still very good, and she always puts 100 percent emotion into everything she sings. brilliant that she won.

  • Danielle is an amazing actress. I say give her a few more years to build her voice up and strengthen it and she will be an amazing west end star. As for Dorothy? Maybe not just yet. Lauren ftw.

  • Dan 4 dot!

    Xxxx

  • she has to win!!! perfect for dorothy

  • I have absoultely fallen in love with this song all over again since watchin her perform on the show. Yeh ok the vocals wernt 100%, one dodgy line, but the rest of it was beautiful. How you can say she has no emtion is ridiculous! The girl connects with the lyrics of every song she performs, especially this one! I could watch this again and again and again. She has got to win!

  • PRE-TEN-DANG!

  • Danielle is Dorothy! By far the best! :0)

  • Danielle doesn't have enough emotion to me... I think Lauren or Steph would be a good Dorothy. Danielle does have an amazing voice though!

  • You obviously dont know Lauren otherwise you wouldnt decry her - actually she always appears to me a very caring and sweet person and certainly not smarmy. Speak as you find and know - not by being so gulliable.

  • She has something about her and I could just watch her perform forever!! I have voted for her exactly 34 times since week 1. Danielle is dorophy for me!!!

  • OMG this is an amazing cover Danielle is my faveorite and i hope she wins. she is the only girl i could see playing dorothy. her voice is amazing and she is really pretty. Danielle to win <3 x

  • Does anybody know where the dress is from? It's stunning

  • I agree that Danielle is a good actress and dancer but if she sings like this in a West End show, she will not impress an audience no matter how good her acting and dancing is - it's the singing which leaves the biggest impression and if she doesn't get it right, ALW could live to regret it as she is obviously his favourite. lauren also has some problems with her singing which ALW and Charlotte pointed out. if i was ALW i'd be more worried about the singing. After all it is MUSICAL theatre.

  • @MrTobs009 Wow sounds like you really don't like Danielle. Well, I liked this performance except for the one shouty part, and that can easily be worked on. She has so much character to her voice and she adds to the songs with her acting. That's more important to me than pure vocals. I also think she has a great personality and is very likable. She's a little shy and reserved, but seems like a sweet girl who obviously loves to perform. Danielle to win!

  • @MrTobs009 Gees can you not give the girl a break, she is still young and with a small amount of vocal training she will get the strength and control needed. Personally I love her voice as it is and because her performance normally draws me in I normally dont recognise the tiny vocal mistakes until someone points them out. There is over 6 months between the end of this show and the start of the theatre show, she will have plenty of time to make the minor adjustments needed.

    Danielle FTW :)

  • Jenny was by far a better singer than Danielle and a more likeable person - that was rubbish about her not getting on with Toto. That can easily be overcome as was shown on Sunday night when jenny got on great with the beagle and sang 'over the rainbow' with him sitting beside her all the way through. it's much harder to teach an average singer like Danielle to become a great singer.

  • Don't think Danielle is a good enough singer. Also she is very serious at times and her eyes are cold. Think she is also very self centred on her VTs and when she is talking to the Graham Norton after each performance. She doesn't have the right personality for Dorothy. Steph and Sophie are better singers and have much nicer, open, kinder faces and lovely personalities. Steph is the strongest singer and performer left in the competition.

  • @MrTobs009 self centred in her VTs? The VTs are about the person performing, who do you want her to talk about? There's nothing wrong with Danielle's personality and I don't think her eyes are cold either. I enjoy her performances the most out of all the girls. - It's personal preference.

  • Danielle you rock!!

  • She has brilliant control over her voice. You can tell from how well she went into the quiet bit at the end.

  • come'on Danielle!!! As soon as I saw her, I had a good feeling about her - she is a natura!l Danielle to win! :D

(My name is Danielle too :P)

  • come'on Danielle!!! As soon as I saw her, I had a good feeling about her - she is a natural!! !!! Danielle to win!!! :D

(My name is Danielle too :P)

  • I thought Dan did a really good job. She's so perfect for Dorothy I can't imagine any other girl in the role.

  • everybody really needs to vote danielle! She deserves to win, why was she in the bottom 2!? VOTE DANIELLE, SHE IS DOROTHY

  • if sophie goes next ill be happy with whoever wins but my votes go to danielle shes so talented its like shes had lots of training and she just turned 18! danielle FTW vote danielle! <3 x

  • bbc can u please spell the musical right it is LES miserables

  • @dramageza1 haha the bbc makes a spelling error EVERY week, it's funny

  • WOW she sang that amazingly but I really wanted to see Lauren perform this song she would have been fantastic as well!

  • This was kinda dissapointing after last weeks performance :(

  • Great video!

  • Her not belting or at least mixing "Known" ruined it.

  • @TerribleGreenBlizzrd i know :/ if she would have made KNOWN loud and powerful she would have made the song much better.

  • Sorry fans, this was the worst of the night. Her voice is really nasal, no warmth, and I just don't like her that much at all. No idea why she's still in - should have left when in the sing-off with Dani.

  • This was an amzing performance and she should definitely be in the final!

  • Danielle & Jess are in the bottom two tonight, but Jess goes.

  • @Dtisfit How do you know??

  • @TeamRobsten8690 it was filmed last night it's true

  • @kteddy100 Oh, I see, I guess that makes sense, while they have all the audience there and stuff...I'm glad he saved Danielle! :D

  • You have to be tone deaf to enjoy this singing.

  • Danielle to win ;D

  • is anyone else getting a tad annoyed at Shelia always going on and on about interpretation? I know that it is important, but everyone would interpret it differently and she is never happy about how they choose to see it, and she hardly ever comments on the actual singing. tch.

  • Comment removed

  • Am I the only one who thinks that she has no face expression?

There is nothing in her eyes..

  • SHE'S THE BOTTOM TWO TONIGHT :( :( :(

  • @kteddy100 you cant know that, its not been announced. I think it should be Sophie to go tonight

  • @kirstyandrews93 It's Jessica and Danielle in the bottom two tonight, BUT she's safe!!!! DAN4DOT!!!!!

  • @kteddy100 how do you know who's in the bottom two? I thought it was announced tonight?

  • @kirstyandrews93 It's filmed last night once phone lines close, Jessica's already out, they just don't show us until tonight

  • @kteddy100 really? I thought that they did the show again on Sunday, live

  • @kteddy100 i guessed she would be in the bottum two with danielle then it has a pattern is this just a guess

  • @XxXiceclimberXxX No it's true; Danielle and Jess in bottom 2, Danielle save, thank god.

  • @kteddy100 thats weird its gone in a pattern

    steph-amy

    lauren-bronta?

    danielle-dani

    sophie-emilie

    steph(again)-stepanie

    lauren(again)-jenny

    danielle(again)-jessica

    thats real weird

  • @XxXiceclimberXxX That's weird!! I hadn't realised that! Everyone's been in the bottom two now! (Bronte lol)

  • @XxXiceclimberXxX Yeah they keep saving those who are proving to consistently be weak on votes. I think it's only with Lauren it's been fair. People vote for reasons other than on performance.

  • @kirstyandrews93 p.s. I agree Sophie should have gone!

  • aww was so good! I was welling up!

  • really gutted danielle lost it a bit on the big notes, but the reest was so beautiful and moving!

as ALW always says its about all the performances over the weeks andd this is her only weak performance, she is normally extremly consistant

    GO DANIELLE

  • Does anyone know what shop her dress is from ???

    =)

    xx

  • Danielle or Steph to win! :)

  • No it wasn't as good as last week but who do we want 4 Drothy, a gorgeous talented, elegant Danielle or an arrogant smarmy Lauren who pulls more hideous faces than Rio Ferdinand. The other 3 girls are irrelevant

  • she she has the look the acting, Dorthy don't really sing that much in the movie just a bit its more of the acting and controlling the dog.danielle to win vote

    09011 21 22 01

  • I don't think it was as bad as people were saying. It was that one line she lost it and unfortunately that was what they showed for all the recaps.

  • I wouldn't say she is the best singer in the competition, but Sheila Hancock and the Lord have praised her and will push her through to win it. The show last night lacked sparkle, probably because the best entertainer left last week.

  • @Brifederer Totally agree, the show was flat due to Stephanie not being in it. STEPHANIE WAS THE BEST!!!!

  • Awesome look, amazing voice, go Danielle!

  • Sure, the vocal wasn't perfect, but the acting was amazing and the vocal sounded wonderful for most of it. She can easily work on vocal control, but she is miles ahead of all the others in the way she acts and presents a song. Danielle to win!

  • Clearly the lord's favourite but she struggles in the higher register!

  • Danielle to win!!!

  • @ambernimbus hope danielle does win, shes brill

  • @ambernimbus so happy she own, she deserved it!

  • Comment removed

  • One of the best performances of the night!! She looked classy, elegant and she sang so BEAUTIFULLY ! xx

  • 1.37 isnt what i class as good vocals.showed some worrying weakness's tonight...

  • Go Danielle, soo much to live up to after last week and you did great.

    Danielle FTW

  • Her vocals do need working on but they can do that. If I go to see the show with her as Dorothy and its not up to scratch I'll ask for my money back.

  • @NDawn and they won't give it to you!

  • love it, very truthfull acting. she always conveys emotion so well but without over doing it

  • Oh dear ... she has totally butchered this song ... pre-ten-dang! what was all that about :-s her voice sounded very nasally on this too.

Still, I do think the last 'i love him but only on my own' was well acted though.

  • she has to win now that stephanies gone!!!!

  • she is amazing!
