Pure non-computerized undoctored up TALENT. Back in the day it wasn't just about image. Like today. You had to have some natural fing vocal talent. True notes, no artificial flavoring. Accapella separates the men from boys and the girls from the ladies. Thats why Motown, Philly International, Stax and all those other great labels and their singers will never go out of style.
The singers to day! can't do this~ ask them to place their songs on youtube singing Accapella at least not without auto tune, them no! singing Asses! John legend not even his real name, A legend in his own mind!~Trey songz, Chris brown etc,. Motown and all the labels from that time , they had to have real singing talent ! Today's music! nothing but crack Baby Music!~ Fast, Cheap! all computerized melodies ,can't read one note of music. don't know scales~ what key means,it's truly SAD!~
Eddie had such a gift. His tenor was so angelic and his falsetto was undescriable and often imitated. Diana sounded great as well. By the way, these are my 2 favorite motown artist. I am a big motown fan and simply loved all of the artist.
In 1968, me and my friends were suppose to be the next Motown sensation. I sanged the high part (Eddie Kendiricks), 11 years later at the age of 22 yrs old, I missed the Motown exit and ended up at G.E. for the next 25 yrs. Now at 54 yrs old, maybe I should try and round up the guys and start all over again. Motown could use a new "OVER THE HILL OUTTA SHAPE ACT"....but I still, thank God, have my memories of a wonderful time in history for me.
Fuck David Ruffin! Eddie Kendricks was the best vocalist in The Temptations! I've always preferred his voice to Ruffin's. Ruffin was a conceited asshole who thought that he was bigger than the group.
@JandBMan312 that may be true about him thinking he was better then the group but he was a censation the group probably wouldnt live long without him!!!!
@095921141827 The group still had a lot of hits after Ruffin left. "I Can't Get Next To You", "Papa Was a Rolling Stone", "Just My Imagination", and "Ball of Confusion" to name a few.
Great post, But you can faintly hear the musical track in the background....Back in the day, they use to record the vocals and the music on seperate channels and "pan mix" them. ( My theory on how he got it)..The poster just seperated the channels....
Utterly brilliant!!!!Legends in the making...mind bending array of the 'it' factor (whatever 'it' actually IS) in SHED loads!!Dianes completely unique tonality and 'presence' and him...oh my LORD!!!!He floats and circles up and down the scales and register with breathtaking ease, complimenting Diane's vocal and she his...what a match!!Damn...i would've LOVED to be at THIS recording session...genius...all around!!
WOW!!! This is pure TALENT!!! Miss this music SO much!!!

This is kind of a rip off because the Temps and the Supremes were BLOWIN' on the backs.
