About concert sound you are quite wright (I own a pro audio company) imagine with four NEXO ALPHA S2 subs (they produce 140dB each) you cover 4000 people on a concert!

That is a total of 143dB per side or 146dB of total spl and 7200wrms of true power from 2300wrms amps consuming 14amps of current each (28Amp @220v) no way a cars electrical system can produce such power to drive similar massive amps!

I bought my 04 15L7 just to play with for a good deal, and was so surprised by its performance on 1200w I sold all my expensive subs. To have an spl (sound pressure level) of 142dB you need 16 of these subs. high spl above 150dB is quite hard to achieve. Car subs and audio in general are a joke!

square subs give more volume for less power, but make them less accurate at recreating sound, meaning less SQ. all in al square subs are just a cheap way to make loud subs. higher end company's use higher quality components and magnets to make their subs louder and better, hence better SPL and SQ.
