I came here because of Missglamorazzi. I am also a former Chicagoan, born and raised (grew up near DePaul University, graduated from Lane Tech and UIC). I moved out to Colorado back in 1996. I miss parts of living in Chicago, but not enough to ever move back. I am loving my life in Colorado. Good luck in Nashville!

@Kleineganz I went to DePaul! Chicago is a wonderful city, but it isn't where I belong. Nashville is much smaller and less intimidating, so even though I am away from all of my family, I still feel at home here. I've been to Colorado once- it was so pretty. We drove out to Glenwood Springs, and checked out Vail and a few other places on the way back to Denver. I can't wait to go visit again! I hate to say it, but I miss snow!

@ebee228 Very cool. What did you study at DePaul, if I may ask? I went to UIC and got my BA in Elementary Education but I'm not teaching anymore. I live in a town called Fort Collins which has about 130,000 people. Way smaller than Chicago, but still with tons of amenities (the big thing I miss are the museums in Chicago).

@Kleineganz I studied Business Management. I ended up getting a degree in Intelligence Operations through the Army as well. When I went to DePaul I lived at home (Brookfield) and commuted every day, while working full-time to support myself! It was EXHAUSTING. I ended up switching to online classes because it was easier with my schedule. I miss Chicago museums too! And Navy Pier!

@ebee228 I hear you on that being exhausting. I worked 3 part-time jobs throughout undergrad and I had a full-time job while going to grad school in Colorado. Unfortunately at the time I left Chicago, the new Navy Pier (well not that new anymore) hadn't opened yet. I've only visited it once since it has opened. Another thing I miss is the Taste of Chicago!
