  • Has Bear McCreary done anything other than BSG? He has created some of the best music of all time in this show and I can't imagine he would stop here.

  • @CJEJTHEDJ He's also done the soundtrack for Eureka

  • what is peperwindu em armenian?

O que é peperwindu em Armeno ? a letra diz tudo com o que acontece com a 3 temporada

  • It's Armenian. Translation is:

A distant and familiar sadness call to us, as if carried on the wind, like burning sand.

    Brothers and Sisters, away.

You endure, stranded on our own land,

A memory etched into soul and skin, leaves a scar that never heals.

Out family is strong, but scattered across the stars and fields.

    We will not abandon you.

    We will not forget you.

    We will return for you.

    Pepperwindu

  • whats the language? anyone recognize?

  • I love how they include lyrics in different languages for several different songs. It's beautiful, and it makes it seem more far-reaching.

  • only 3 dislikes, good

  • @JolineRedmana battlestar galactica online

  • I frakkin' love this theme! Works better than goozfraba when I'm pissed. (That's a good show, too)

  • I AM HAVING A BSG WITHDRAWAL!!!!! I MISS THIS SO MUCH!

  • This music is physic... i had goosebumps.. i don't even know how from this music..

  • They play this in Occupation?! Didn't realise it was first heard that early on.....

  • @Gaiaquke yes it was played when the insurgents plan suicide bombs and the camera zooms out to show the tents in the desert that looks like a scene taken straight out of Iraq

  • 3 Cavils didn't like this music

  • does anyone know then name of the song in the last series where the chick find that shooting star(which turns out to be a cylon ship)?

  • @sam23696

That is the Kara/Leoben theme or "Destiny" theme. That particular cue was never released, but you can find that theme (in similar instrumentation even) in the following tracks:

    Deathbed and Malestrom

Among the Ruins <<< The most complete expansion of the theme

    Starbuck Disappears

    Starbuck's Destiny

    Kendra and the Hybrid

    Precipice (only briefly)

  • after wathing the seiries 1.5 time..... this song gives me cold chills

  • 3 people need to be trown onto the nearest airlock NOW!

    (Frakkin' Amazing)

  • @mserra109 So Say We All ! (season 3 opening rocked)

  • fuckin amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who are those fracking 3 people? how one might not like this beautiful peace?

  • @HVGInvestment Anti-Armenian's perhaps? Anti-BSG people? Or just 3 mistakes. It's not exactly like that's never happened before, either that or people who think nothing bad ever happens.

  • - We´ve been infiltrated

    - By music?

  • I remember this from S2, Tigh in detention, Tyrol and Anders blowing shit up

  • Hell yeah random Armenian lyrics.

I heard this in the show and was like..."wait a minute...I recognize this language..."

    LOL

  • @sstrunks5555 these lyrics are everything but random. A distant and familiar sadness calls to us As if carried on the wind, like burning sand Brothers and sisters, away, you endure Stranded on our own land A memory etched into soul and skin Leaves a scar that never heals Our family is strong, but scattered Across the stars and fields We will not abandon you We will not forget you We will return for you
  • @PeopleOfAr Do not waste your time explaining something to a troll. It's obvious the lyrics are not random. Trolls say otherwise so they can get attention. Let them die ignorant.

  • Beautiful!

  • Sadness breeds creativeness

  • Yah Know Saul Tigh had some of the very, very best quotes in this entire show =P Right up there with Bill Adama himself! "...it's in the frrrrrakkin' ship!!"

  • I love the AATW motif at the start, foreshadowing the song's significance in the series. Excellent.

  • A distant and familiar sadness calls to us As if carried on the wind, like burning sand Brothers and Sisters, away, you endure Stranded on our own land A memory etched into soul and skin Leaves a scar that never heals Our family is strong, but scattered Across the stars and fields We will not abandon you We will not forget you We will return for you
  • So wonderful it makes me shiver.

  • "It's in da FRAKKING ship grml" hehe x)

  • FRAK YEAH :D

  • "CAN SOMEBODY TURN OFF THAT FRAKKING MUSIC" gotta love Sol xD very beautiful music

  • Sol is the name of our star..

    Saul is Tigh.

    :P

  • xD I thought it was Sol, thanks

  • Haha, no problem, I just had the mental image of the sun like yelling it... somehow. XD

  • @Gunderson002

I would of thought you wouldn't have to understand the words to find music beautiful or touching.

Sometimes, it doesn't matter what is said.

  • Yeah it doesn't matter until you find out that it's insulting you lol

  • @Gunderson002 :

Since McCreary has Armenian blood, this is partly about the Armenian Genocide.

  • She sings in Armenian

    "...Tkhrutiunov mez k`kanchesss....", etc.

    "...You call us with sadness...

  • Comment removed

  • Sadness pools in my heart.

  • So what are the translated lyrics?

  • please watch (info) on .... A distant sadness 1915

  • They should be here, not having to go to another place to get them. But whatever.

  • A distant and familiar sadness calls to us As if carried on the wind, like burning sand Brothers and Sisters, away, you endure Stranded on our own land A memory etched into soul and skin Leaves a scar that never heals Our family is strong, but scattered Across the stars and fields We will not abandon you We will not forget you We will return for you *it is sung in Armenian

  • @Pepperwindu Thanks for the translation. Do you by any chance have the transliteration of the lyrics? I've only seen them in the original alphabet.

  • @Pepperwindu considering the history, it's very poignant.

  • @Pepperwindu: Thanks a lot for providing this translation - it's melancholic and so beautiful... one of the few texts that really touch the heart.

  • i am a self a armenian but the first tijme a can´t understand it but when you listen and listen you can hear ot some words

  • ITS IN THE FRAKKING SHIP!!!

  • lol.........WHAT........THE......FRAKK!!!!!!

  • @jimmybloodyjimmy I'm sorry for replying to such an old comment, but I just want to know if that's a reference to the episode that this is from, because I don't remember this in any episodes.

  • So what part is this song played in?

  • The part with lyrics is played in the opening scenes of Season 3, the instrumental part before it is used in the first episode of Season 4.

  • She sings in Armenian with accompanying duduk (instrument) music, amazing....

  • I can't get no relief...

  • theres too much confusion here

  • There must be some way out of here....

  • Said the Joker to the Thief...

  • There's too much confusion

  • I can't get no relief...

  • This track really makes me want to cry.

B Mac did a great job with the whole Soundtrack, but this song really speaks to me.

  • The beginning of this is very powerful, reminds me of sadness and helplessness in some parts of the Universe.....

  • Which parts?

  • this rocks

  • this is what she sings in Armenian! (think of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and then read the lyrics) A distant and familiar sadness calls to us As if carried on the wind, like burning sand Brothers and Sisters, away, you endure Stranded on our own land A memory etched into soul and skin Leaves a scar that never heals Our family is strong, but scattered Across the stars and fields We will not abandon you We will not forget you We will return for you
  • Think of The Cylon War on Earth and the lost brothers and sisters of Cylon

    Not armenia

  • You can think of your lost pet for all I care, I was just pointing out the different levels of meaning. These are Bears words not mine: "Raya Yarbrough, who performed last seasons Lords of Kobol, delivers her most beautiful vocal yet, sung in Armenian. The text is an original work I composed for the piece, though it has multiple levels of meaning." Being Armenian himself I assume that is what he meant.

  • Think of both. It's cyclical.

  • Knowing these lyrics makes this song that much more powerful and painful. We have a tendancy to forget that artists use their stories, pictures, music, or what ever to show us not distant worlds, but the world around us in a different light.

  • There must be some kind of way out of here!

  • said the joker to the thief!

  • there's too much confusion!

  • I can't get no relief.

  • I can't get no releif!

  • There must be some kind of way out of here

  • Said the joker to the thief.

  • theres too much confusion

  • I can't get no relief

  • The ghostly singing at the end is simply chilling.

  • "There must be someway out of here said the joker to the thief".

  • OMG... This song is neat.

  • so say we all :p

  • has anyone found the missing trailer I would love to see it

  • The ending almost sounds like it's leading into the middle of "Prelude to War".

  • Have anyone seen this preview for season 4 that was out for maybe a week, then it misteriously disappered, anyway.. It started with galactica starting up again after it lost power in the nebula (at the end of season 3) only to find three baseships, the camera shifts and you see a battlestar of unknown design, looks like a blend of the battlestar from the original series and the new one, the camera shifts again,

  • ... and you see three battlestars; two that look like pegasus and one that looked like a fusion of galactica and valkyrie. The camera shifts again and you see a battle between a number of battlestars and baseships, but what caught my eye was that all the ships looked a lot more advanced, more sleek in design.

  • And all through the trailer, this song was playing in the backround

  • Yeah I saw that trailer a while back, but I cant find it anymore.

  • you sure you guys arent talking about trailers from the razor movie ?

  • Nah there was another really extended trailer with more battlestars (including one called "Titan" floating in space and various clips/scenes from season 4. It seemed to just dissapear when season 4 actually started. My friend heard it was fan made but the graphics looked really good on the battlestars. (I wish I could remember the name of the user who posted it up here....)

  • Sounds cool. But the chances of another battlestar are next to nothings at this point in the series. But I bet we're seeing a new kind of cylon ships in these last 2 eps. It looked like an eight pointed basestar with curved arms, kind of. That's all I really saw from friday's episode of it.

  • Yeah I see your point but you never know, anythings possible. I almost forgot that there is only 2 eps left. How are they gonna wrap it all up? it hasnt been very optimistic so far, I wonder if the ending will be any different.

  • it would've been cool if they included the full version of this in the opening of season 3. like alittle musical foreshadow

  • hell yeah like the beginning of kingdom of heaven

  • The lyrics in it fit so well to the series i think . I wonder if they are ancient or if they were made for the series

  • i think they are ancient...some of the songs are done in ancient sanskrit and this one is in armenian

  • good song

  • I really like the end of the song that originally aired in Occupation/Precipice, but not so much about that beginning part that they threw in in All Along The Watchtower.

  • Listen to 0:15-0:45 and then listen to All Along The Watchtower. The season ending song in season starting song...

  • Perhaps an allusion to the familiar 'All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again' topic

  • I get some of the most seriously awesome goosebumps from nearly ALL of the Battlestar Galactica music by Bear McCreary...Fantastic post!

  • It is in Armenian. Appropiate lyrics. A distant and familiar sadness calls to us As if carried on the wind, like burning sand Brothers and sisters, away, you endure Stranded on our own land A memory etched into soul and skin Leaves a scar that never heals Our family is strong, but scattered Across the stars and fields We will not abandon you We will not forget you We will return for you
  • does any1 understand the words but apart from that a good song
