i think the film maker had a weak interpretation of GG the "phenomenon". To connect him to a "directionless minority of alienated youths" captures it in the most trite of ways. He was pure expression, authenticity, the visceral screaming to enter the world of the facade that we all live in. And on "the stage" - the place where we perform our roles he tore away the fabric of the common reality. THAT is what GG was - a great artistic phenomenon beyond hating and beyond the notion of "alienation"
