Keith was a wild boy, I loved his music, but it is just the truth. Maybe his momma and brother didn't know it, but he was drinking before he ever went on the road with Ralph. But growing up in a bluegrass music family, I too can attest that at bluegrass festivals there is always a bunch drinking and partying, so it's not hard to find.
not sure where else you can by it but i have it somewhere i got this video from renfro valley here in kentucky its on vhs tape renfro valley is a place here where they have concerts they also have a music store and im sure they have a web site its in mt vernon ky
I like how they blame bluegrass with Ralph, for the drinking, Ralph stanley is a Christain Man. I can't believe all the drinking started playing with Ralph,I believe more with Keith when he left Bluegrass annd went to country, Thats where all the drinking is mostly
this is an awesome video of Keith Whitley!! Was wondering if you would be able to continue it here on youtube? I too did not know that he was on the road at that early of an age. Nice rare footage of Keith though. He is missed terribly!!
faye is a good lady she is not in the greatest shape now keith was a good guy or from wat i here from my mom keith is my moms second cousin so im proud to their family
thanks for the post, I am from KY and I enjoyed this very much....being up north now I miss the KY people. My dad was a huge fan of Ralph Stanley, he died this past summer and anytime I hear Bluegrass music I think of him, sitting on the front porch in KY with his radio on listening to his music. He was a wonderful man that never learned to read or write but was one of the smartest men I have ever met, and most importantly the kindest man. He loved Keith Whitley and Ricky Scaggs!
The Whitley family are really the best folks you can find! It seems so unfair that this family seems to always have to deal with tragedies! I am proud to call Dwight Whitley and his lovely wife Flo good friends and they mean the world to me! Enjoyed seeing this video! Thanks for sharing!

If you're a Keith Whitley fan... you should check out the youtube video "Keith how many" by Ernie Thacker. I'm sure you'll be amazed.

A successful career, a beautiful wife and child, and like so many others threw it all away for booze and died from it at 34

keith was the greatest singer of all time. i live only 50 miles from sandy hook ky. i will always listen to his great voice.

50 miles? Cool. I live closer and have realatives in the same county as Sandy Hook.
Not meaning to be a bragger, but it was said by some people our band leader knows that I sound like a young Keith Whitley. Can't say I really agree.
