Kenneth Alfor--aka Mad Major , Major Ricketts,,,, was one of Canada's great composers and was Band Leader of The Argyle-Sutherland Highlanders of Hamilton, Ont.

@MrDanmeyers Alford didn't call the Mad Major such because of his exploits. The march was instead named after Mjr. Graham Seton Hutchinson. Alford was a Warrant Officer, First Class when The Mad Major was composed.
