Thank god for the vocalist. I'm so used to screaming banshees and pre-teen-boy-sound-alikes that I've simply become accustomed to searching for instrumentals when I dig around for new metal bands. Welcome change of pace.

@FaceDownDagon I'm with you on that one man, given screaming is present in a lot of metal I tend to avoid bands that use it a lot, though it's pretty much impossible to avoid completely.

Even though Haken uses some harsh vocals on some tracks, it's totally over-ridden by their sheer excellence!

The new album is a breath of fresh air as far as vocals go, but that's just like my opinion, man.

The second album is always the most difficult: Haken have just blown that myth well and truly away. His voice continues to entrance, and makes my heart flutter. One word= unbeatable.
