At 18, I went to a southern version in August 1974 at the Charlotte Speedway. Overall, a bad experience. I ended up standing for 12 hours, no room to sit, you could not piss, no way to get to bathrooms, humid as only the southeast can be. Plus NO SEALS & CROFTS! By the time the headliners played, the Eagles, I was gone. I did get to see ELP and the Allman Brothers, though, along with less memorable acts like Foghat and Black Oak Arkansas. I wanted to escape to California then and should have.
I went to this concert and the people i was with got me waisted on LSD- with i would didn't taken LSD that they gave me in my soda (i was only 14) and would have actually enjoyed the concert!
Like a lot of you, i remember watching this live with i think WPLJFM and ABC TV combined to broadcast it...great performance by a very overlooked Hame of Fame worthy of a band..IMO
I wonder if that is Jeff Porcaro on drums, he played on S&C 1974 album Unborn Child - the year is right & even though you never quite see the face the drumming sounds good. He would have been 20 then & the guy looks youngish. Wishful thinking maybe. Love seeing JP clips. Does anyone else think it could be?
I love the mandolin at the end

I saw Seals & Crofts in July 1978 at the Carowinds Amusement Park Paladium near Charlotte, NC on the NC/SC border.

A few more years and this clip will be 40 years old. Frighting. Still, the perfect years in so many ways..
