Respectfully disagree- I just don't like the fussiness of any 1970s designs. The turbos cleaned up aesthetics a lot. Modern ones look odd to me, I reckon the best looking bodies were between 1985-1995. The '60s machines were pretty little deathtraps!

Fittipaldi's Lotus 72 FROM 1972 (the '73 enlarged the air box and wings) is hands down the all-time best. Niki Lauda's Ferrari's from 75 and 76 a close second. So many cars you left out that are hands down better than these: Jim Clark's Lotus 49C? And so many other from the late 60's/early 70's. The Williams in which Villenuve and Hill won their titles was the best of that mark. Like the Shadow, but number one?

@giuliettomane Strongly support your opinion. The Euroracing Alfa of 1984, driven by Cheever and Patrese with the green and red Benetton design and the nice shape was one of the nicest cars ever. It wasn´t much succesful, but great looking. A few years ago, I saw an offer of this car in the web. They where willing to sale it on an auktion.

I saw nice posters of this cars in the Benetton shops in 1984 when I was a boy. Sadly there are no models of this car expect on of Tameo in the 1:43 scale.

Yeah, I loved the Black JPS Lotus '79 (had a toy car of one as a kid); the '87 Williams was pretty nice; but my all-time favourite probably has to be Senna's '89 McLaren..

Last year's Ferrari and McLaren's were pretty easy on the eye, too.

Agree that the new regulations for 2009 haven't made for the most attractive new cars; but then again, 1998 wasn't a good year - took a while for things to turn around!

I'd put more modern stuff on my list. Some of these look good, but the Tyrell, for example, looks like a joke! The FW16 is the best looking Williams; and the MP4/6 the best looking McLaren IMO. A lot of the earlier stuff looks odd to me, and far too dated.
