hey who did the wires cause they did a very good job and could a regular person put green or amber lights on their car like that or would that be illegal? thanks and nice vid
@jrpianosongs You need to apply for a state-issued permit to put those kinds of lights on your vehicle. To my knowledge, only people working in public service sectors are allowed to have them at all. I know that in Connecticut, firefighters can apply for a blue-light permit, and EMTs for a green-light permit. It varies from state to state.
wicked set up i would love to get a set up like that as a fellow Firefighter we can have green and amber lights right now i have a single dash mounted 6 led set up but i find its not quite enough any pointers on a good company to support with buying lights
It always makes me laugh when I see people argue over the proper color of emergency lights xD. We don't use green lights in PA for EMTs; they get blue just like volunteer firefighters. I know that there are green lights used here as command lights, but there's also a county in Delaware, a short distance from here, that has EMTs with green lights. Every city is different.
@Nschoendorf If you are going to be complaining about volunteer firefighters and their green lights, you better start ragging even harder on funeral homes for using purple... Cause Green isn't too bad
In CT you are legally responsible for pulling over when some is displaying red or blue flashing lights ( Blue for Fire Personal vehicles) (red for Fire apparatus) and (red and blue for the police)
Here in Santa Fe County New Mexico where I'm from, green lights are prohibited to be used as emergency lights, all emergency pov's MUST run code 3, meaning have red lights and siren, also needs permission from county chiefs to get EVO Permitted. Green lights may only be used as command light's, notifying personnel where to report when getting on scene
5. Green light. One green light may be affixed to any motor vehicle owned by a member of a volunteer ambulance service, or on a motor vehicle owned by a member of such person's family, or by a business enterprise in which such person has a proprietary interest or by which he is employed, provided such member has been authorized in writing to so affix a green light by the chief officer of such service as designated by the members thereof.
I am one that is an Emergency Medical Service Volunteer. That is EMS Stormchasing. I chase storms to save lives. Cops and Firefighters no matter the state recognize green. It is Universal.
I get flagged down a lot by cops and firefighters if I am not first on the scene.
As a member of EMS (volunteer firefighter) I had red and white lights and siren for emergency response.
My fire department has a green light which identifies the vehicle as Incident Command.
I saw a private ambulance with a green filter in the light bar. I asked if it was some kind of IC. "No, just for a variety of colors to attract the eye.", they answered.
The human eye is actually most sensitive to blue light. LED blues arexcellent.
I usually never get in trouble if I have my green lights on when it comes to Natural Disaster.
Incident Command or Emergency Managment. VAHP were going to have a field day with me. But, since I have Emergency Managment credentials I could have green lights.
You ever see my team down in Florida you would think we are Disney's Main Street Parade.
We will get a video made when my whole team is back from Iraq and Afghanistan.
@farmer864 To bad you have poor grammar and cannot spell. Poor grammar make you look real stupid. And, you do know I am a Priest? So repent sinner. For only TWO ENTITIES can judge and that is GOD, HIMSELF and Priests. And, your not a Priest.
@TheStormchaser1 its makes not make!! actually im southern baptist and our pastors dont walk around with a 666 tat anywhere on their body. Only God can judge me, not some overeducated virgin that thinks he can judge me. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. you cannot save me priest man, only God can
@farmer864 That 666 happens to be my badge number. Nothing satanic at all. I had a vision my arm was going to be severed off when I am rescuing someone. It would be easy to tattoo my badge number on my hand so if someone found my arm or hand it could be re-attached. You cannot judge a book by it's cover.
And, I do not think your baptist priests goes on in life threatening storms saving people nor carry a badge with their number on their hand. My hand is an easy identifier in storms.
@jwhitten93 I am sorry but I disagree with you. Why should a volunteer responding in his own vehicle not be able to use every bit of resources to protect himself/herself as well as their property? Why is it, by your implication, ok for a "professional" and not a "volunteer" to light the vehicle to the point this person has?
Now, I do believe wholeheartedly that if you are going to light up, you MUST show proficiency and have passed an EVOC or like course.
Here in Colorado green lights are only for Incident Commander and can only be used on scene. So to respond I think you still have to have red and white. Awsome light setup too!! Music fits it too. But like qlancer said I hate when people dont pull over for volenteer responders. Seconds count sometimes. And in my town theres people that dont even pull over for an ambulance. What state are you from? I need to post my POV on youtube. ITs not as good as yours is though lol
I believe lights should be accompanied by sirens - its safer. But always yield to every colour except amber. ALWAYS. If I see someone NOT yielding to a volly, I will FIND a reason to cite them. Because tomorrow, as you said, they will be complaining the firetrucks didnt arrive fast enough.
But - that said, I do not like green. It is a good setup however.
Then why even run green lights? Why run lights on your POV at all. In Oregon it is up to the Fire District Chief weather or not you can run a dash light or POV lighting as everyone calls it. the light has to be issued by the fire chief and you are required to carry a permit as long as you have it. We are not allowed to run them and we do fine without them. Too much of a liability...
@coolsax64 - the lights in oregon are distributed by the emergency agency, which distributes the lights to the fire company's them selves for firetrucks and such, they are not handed out by the chief.2nd pov lighting works fine to get to station or the scene, you dont need to go 100mph! just do 5 over the speed limit and people usually move unless there completly brain dead.
you can just run straigh thru a red light. u can pull up to a red with ur lights on. if the people in the opposite direction give you the right of way meaning every1 stops. you can go
so if ur not allowed to run past red lights, whats the point of having all the green lights? isnt it wierd when ur responding to a call, and u get stuck behind a red light, and ur just siting there waiting for it to turn green...with all your lights flashing
In our department we are taught if you are coming to a red light, turn your blues/greens off so not to confuse traffic. but otherwise we run them because of how far most of us have to make it to a station
@jigglydunlap I have never understood that sort of policy. They should either allow you to run emergency or you don't do it at all. Most of the volly departments around us run hot with red/white lights and you use a siren with them. Some departments don't allow lights/siren at all unless of course on department owned vehicles.
I think we need a national standard on this including color and siren use.
@n4ems My department in Jefferson Oregon is no lights or use of 4 way flasher's in POV's. The station I respond from alow's up to 5 minutes for people to respond unless we have a crew at the station then the incoming volunteer's either take the rescue, engine , tender or grass rig depending on the call. Lighting in POV's is becoming to risky and most departments wont carry the insurance for it...
this is seriously over done....if you were to drive that in most towns, you would get fined big time, cops would write down ur licence plate numbers and call up the ems corps you belong to....the department of highway safety hold strict values on how bright and how powerful the green lights in your car are. but i must say, your car does look very cool =)
DO you also have a siren?? I thought you HAD to have a siren in-order to be a TRUE emergency vehicle..? I'm a vol firefighter, so I would move anyway, but if you don't have a siren, I don't see how its required for people to move.
In NY state EMS volunteers use GREEN lights with NO SIREN. They're considered "courtesy light" and as such drivers are NOT legally obligated to yield right of way. HOWEVER, if you don't yield, I hope the next call they respond to is for YOU. STAY SAFE!
@mattntam law should state as he previously mentioned, they do not have to yield right of way unless it is accompanied with a siren on an ACTUAL emergency vehicle, they may get pulled by pd but wont stand up in court. It is retarded that way lol, makes me glad i dont have to run greens though, looks odd, illinois runs blue/white/amber
@MettaFireRescue We used to run Green lights, dash only , in our dept in Stayton Oregon back in the early 90's. Now they are not allowed any lights at all. Even your 4 way flashers are a no no. Why is this? I just finished 20 years of service both paid and volunteer...
@MettaFireRescue some agencies in nys allow red and white lights with sirens and cars are required to yield. also, if youre with a fire deprtment youre allowed to use blue and some also allow sirens
Wacker. Why not save a portion of the money you spent on the lights to get a better car. Light bar, grille lights, side mirror lights AND a front windshield light?
Washington state we can run green only as volunteer firefighters.2 max on the front only and they can alternate.Red and blue are for police and fire.Personal vehicles are not used to go to scene except if you;r close.Used to station only and we have to obey all traffic laws.Green means you;r a volunteer responding to station only..
In the UK green lights can only be used by medical doctors on emergency calls, but most of them use a single roof beacon. They respond at the request of the ambulance service when a doctor is needed at the scence.
It is green for EMS here as well. I have to say, I have never seen so many green lights! Usually it is only a single dash or two grills, that looks FANTASTIC. I do have one question though, DO PEOPLE MOVE FOR YOU?
thats cool, im glad the green is getting respect in other states as well, i believe a matter of fact, somewhere in texas i think they use green on their fire trucks in some parts. and a side note. in texas the tow trucks uses amber and blue. how bout that. and thats the only state i seen texas to do that.
when it comes to green lights in only security vehicles (and amber)"yes". ems??..lmao "no". the l.e.d.'s is setup is nice. take off the damn overhead, there no respect their for that. matter of fact, take the whole damn thing off and use yourself a tiny red light. your setting yourself a liability with that shit in your own p.o.v.. don't be a hero chaser, be smart.
in my town ems is green only, the fire and police are the only ones allowed to run blue and red. im not a chaser i am an emt. this is for ticonderoga ny.
This doesn't even make any sense. It's not my fault the OP's lights are illegal. I didn't make the law. Pull your head out of your ass and act like an adult for a change.
Your light setup is illegal. Per NY V&T Law Sec. 375, you may only have ONE green light.
Also, per 15 NYCRR 44.4, you may only have ONE green light, limited to 32 candlepower, and strobes are specifically prohibited. Alternate-flashing grille lights are also specifically prohibited.
Lassa, I hear that they now have ways to remove that pole that is shoved up your ass. You may want to remove it in a timely fashon. I don't care if your a FF, or EMT. You wana talk shit to a brother then your gona take some back, get off the computer and get a life.
code3chase91: Get a life? Dude, I'm not the one defending the whacker who decks his car out like a Christmas tree with strobes and LEDs. I'm gonna take some shit back? From who? You? Yeah right. Don't make me laugh...
Whoa, you best be carful or your maturity might show! Stop acting like a 3 year old. Your not the cops as far as I know, and your sure as hell not the "super omega firefighter chairperson of the world." If he wants to run green lights let him. Give him a break. Don't make you laugh? What you think im going to let some jackass who has the maturity level of a 12year old firefighter wanabee talk shit on fellow EMS/Fire personal, there bustin theres, no need to talk down to them.
With a name like "code3chase91" it's obvious that you're the type of whacker who thinks flashing lights are super-k00l, and who thinks that the law doesn't apply to him. I'll bet you jump calls in neighboring districts too. You, my friend, represent the very worst in the fire and EMS services. I'll tell you what, I'll pull the pole out of my ass when you figure out how to pull your head out of your ass.
I don't run blue lights, and I never plan on doing so. Your the one that gets off to the blue strobe on your bike. My name has to do with my ride along activity with law enforcement (I am not a cop) not with the fire dept. Please explain to me how I "represent" the worst of the EMS/Fire services? Because I know a jackass when I see one? My heads not in my ass, therefore you can remove the pole at your own discression.
In some States one of which is Indiana Green is the only light they are suppose to Use if they are a EMT, etc. Look it up and learn someting for a change. Funny how people think they know everything and come to find out they dont know a thing.
No because your a piece of shit try-hard muzza faggot that thinks his something that he isn't, who gets pulled over for doing 5 over the limit, tries to be a smartass to the cop then gets his lisence taken off him.
not sure what your problem is but i am something that i think i am and i have been pulled over for doing 10 over and let go because i am somthing.(EMT) and get it right you f---!
Why in hell do you have all these green lights on your car? If I saw green lights flashing on a motor vehicle I would point and laugh.

It is non-emergency lights for EMS Personnel.
In some states they do not recognize green as EMS. But, if you travel and you are on duty you will need green. Mainly EMS Stormchasers.
TheStormchaser1 1 year ago
I am a storm chaser.
They need only four-way flashers already on their vehicles.
Some add yellow beacons to lessen chance of being hit since most of us are distracted by meteorological events.

Because it is state law.

chechnya 2 years ago
Wacker. Why not save a portion of the money you spent on the lights to get a better car. Light bar, grille lights, side mirror lights AND a front windshield light?
chechnya 2 years ago
because i like my car. and i like lights.
mattntam 2 years ago
Washington state we can run green only as volunteer firefighters.2 max on the front only and they can alternate.Red and blue are for police and fire.Personal vehicles are not used to go to scene except if you;r close.Used to station only and we have to obey all traffic laws.Green means you;r a volunteer responding to station only..
johnguz76 2 years ago
yah i mostly respond to station but i can also respond to sceen due to having a jump bag being an emt-b.
mattntam 2 years ago

I was about to ask where you are from but you said UK. Never seen green lights before but it looks awesome!!
monkeydude3 3 years ago
In the UK green lights can only be used by medical doctors on emergency calls, but most of them use a single roof beacon. They respond at the request of the ambulance service when a doctor is needed at the scence.

It is green for EMS here as well. I have to say, I have never seen so many green lights! Usually it is only a single dash or two grills, that looks FANTASTIC. I do have one question though, DO PEOPLE MOVE FOR YOU?
person1375 3 years ago
If not they deserve to be run off the road with that many lights!
lmvfr80 3 years ago 2
wow. if you came to california with green lights you wouldnt have anyone move for you, they'd think you were just telling them to speed up... lol
joshuastylor2 3 years ago
to be totally honest.....it looks like way too much. Some of them should be amber to balance out the look a bit. Its a bit of overkill.

Nice set up. I wish we had had green lights. But we have standered issue red and white for both fire and ems.

OEMs in AR are the only ones who can use green lights
legsbluetrain 3 years ago
What are the rules about running lights in your car in AR?
VolunteerFireEMS 3 years ago
Red for EMS and fire, constables blue, but constables' cars have to be marked also.Green is for Office of Emergency Management.
legsbluetrain 3 years ago
thats cool, im glad the green is getting respect in other states as well, i believe a matter of fact, somewhere in texas i think they use green on their fire trucks in some parts. and a side note. in texas the tow trucks uses amber and blue. how bout that. and thats the only state i seen texas to do that.
sylent6 3 years ago
when it comes to green lights in only security vehicles (and amber)"yes". ems??..lmao "no". the l.e.d.'s is setup is nice. take off the damn overhead, there no respect their for that. matter of fact, take the whole damn thing off and use yourself a tiny red light. your setting yourself a liability with that shit in your own p.o.v.. don't be a hero chaser, be smart.
sylent6 3 years ago
in my town ems is green only, the fire and police are the only ones allowed to run blue and red. im not a chaser i am an emt. this is for ticonderoga ny.

Im sorry but Lassa100 you sound like a dick stop been a wanna-be you just seem you want to make everyones life hell. Back off
iranordstrom 3 years ago
This doesn't even make any sense. It's not my fault the OP's lights are illegal. I didn't make the law. Pull your head out of your ass and act like an adult for a change.
lassa100 3 years ago
Your light setup is illegal. Per NY V&T Law Sec. 375, you may only have ONE green light.
Also, per 15 NYCRR 44.4, you may only have ONE green light, limited to 32 candlepower, and strobes are specifically prohibited. Alternate-flashing grille lights are also specifically prohibited.
lassa100 3 years ago
ive talked to the pd and its all ok they have no issues
mattntam 3 years ago
Get over yourself lassa, jesus christ.
bullzisnipr3 3 years ago
Lassa, I hear that they now have ways to remove that pole that is shoved up your ass. You may want to remove it in a timely fashon. I don't care if your a FF, or EMT. You wana talk shit to a brother then your gona take some back, get off the computer and get a life.
code3chase91 3 years ago
code3chase91: Get a life? Dude, I'm not the one defending the whacker who decks his car out like a Christmas tree with strobes and LEDs. I'm gonna take some shit back? From who? You? Yeah right. Don't make me laugh...
lassa100 3 years ago
Whoa, you best be carful or your maturity might show! Stop acting like a 3 year old. Your not the cops as far as I know, and your sure as hell not the "super omega firefighter chairperson of the world." If he wants to run green lights let him. Give him a break. Don't make you laugh? What you think im going to let some jackass who has the maturity level of a 12year old firefighter wanabee talk shit on fellow EMS/Fire personal, there bustin theres, no need to talk down to them.
code3chase91 3 years ago
^- This was directe towards lassa100
code3chase91 3 years ago
wow chill dude ho says he what to act like a cop or a firefighter this is for car schow,s and the men only shows it what is the problem omg
norwayfinland 3 years ago
With a name like "code3chase91" it's obvious that you're the type of whacker who thinks flashing lights are super-k00l, and who thinks that the law doesn't apply to him. I'll bet you jump calls in neighboring districts too. You, my friend, represent the very worst in the fire and EMS services. I'll tell you what, I'll pull the pole out of my ass when you figure out how to pull your head out of your ass.
lassa100 3 years ago
I don't run blue lights, and I never plan on doing so. Your the one that gets off to the blue strobe on your bike. My name has to do with my ride along activity with law enforcement (I am not a cop) not with the fire dept. Please explain to me how I "represent" the worst of the EMS/Fire services? Because I know a jackass when I see one? My heads not in my ass, therefore you can remove the pole at your own discression.
code3chase91 3 years ago
In some States one of which is Indiana Green is the only light they are suppose to Use if they are a EMT, etc. Look it up and learn someting for a change. Funny how people think they know everything and come to find out they dont know a thing.
