  • You can find many coilgun tutorials with google.

  • No they explane it not that well, i am kinda new in this stuff, I want you to make a nother one and show how you did it on youtube. a totorial all the process needed.

  • If you are new to electricity, you must learn the basics. The coilgun have a pretty complex math, and this is a hard work, to make a tutorial for it.

  • You might want to consider a multi-stage one to ramp the velocit without dramatically overheating or needing too much more power.

  • The schematic has a little mistake, the variometer graphic is not right in this form. Variac was used, this is a name mistake.

  • Well, it is an electro magnet with impulse operation.

  • Man I need to make one of these. Though I figure a rail gun is easier. Since with a coil gun you can shoot yourself in the foot if the waveform isn't regulated.

  • Wow Thats a lot of firepower for 300J Caps. With such a low voltage/high RC-time you can only fire pretty long and "heavy" projectiles.

    I switched from 9,4mF@300V to 2,4mF@600V to shoot at higher speeds dramaticly decreasing the amount of impulse. Did you measure/calculate any speeds because I'm realy curious about the effectness in %.

  • Sorry i have no information about the effectness. But i will make a new one with 960J (0,3F @ 80V, or 0,075F @ 160V)
