I have italian roots and I can't put two words together in italian. Who cares? It doesn't mean I can't enjoy it. If she studied and released an album in spanish to celebrate her roots, why do you guys blame her?? Is she supposed to become bilingual to be allowed to release an album in spanish?! Plus, the only reason why she had problems is because her earphone wasn't working, she was supposed to have a translator.

I know plenty of songs in Spanish, but I'm in no way fluent either. I don't see the problem. She's catering to a market who obviously likes her, so they (the audience/consumers) and she both get what they want. It's a win-win.
Why is it that bad? because anyone can learn any language when they apply themselves, she is pretty arrogant and rud to not even try. If i go to another place i would attempt to learn their speech, it's respectful. She was already on my so-so list, now she's on the dislike roster.

Since then she only made 2 or 3 other songs in Spanish at the most...She has Latin American origins and she doesn't try to hide it but she is first and foremost American and she's probably aware of it and identifies herself as such. and the fact she was not taught Spanish when she was a child probably makes it hard for her to consider herself as Latin American as JLo for instance...

Embarrassing. I am half Ecuadorean & just because your parents don't teach you the language doesn't mean you can't learn it later in life. It is considered normal in most parts of the world to learn another language/s. I am currently learning Spanish, (it takes a lot of time and motivation) and I guess she doesn't have the motivation to learn Spanish. It's a shame because she is rich and could afford to hire a private tutor. It is never to late to learn another language. Don't give up.

She couldn't get her ear piece in her hair to hear the lady translate in English so that's why she kept saying hello so that the lady would speak through the speaker, I believe Christina understood some of what the presenter was saying and was able to respond in English but when an equipment malfunctions or an artist is struggling to put their ear piece in an assistant needs to be ready to help..But she got through this interview well enough :)

I've born in a Catalan place and don't know its language, though my father knows it but not my mother (and I'm still living in Barcelona). They never taught me the language, so I don't speak it at all. Also, she didn't need Spanish being in NYC or Pittsburg, so why learn it?

She couldn't get her ear piece in her hair to hear the lady translate in English so that's why she kept saying hello so that the lady would speak through the speaker, I believe Christina understood some of what the presenter was saying and was able to respond in English but when an equipment malfunctions or an artist is struggling to put their ear piece in an assistant needs to be ready to help..But she got through this interview well enough :)
