  • Another classic by Big Sid (not Catlett), thanks

  • Thank you for sharing this fabulous post, which I have added to my Bechet "Playlist".

    Much appreciated.

  • @Corrie121 Pleased you enjoyed the post and thanks for the look.

  • I am forever astounded by the greatness of these jazz musicians. It is absolutely stunning, especially when you realize many of them recorded in the days before our current hi-tech technology. Studio time was costly so they had to go in and get it right. And my, oh my, did they ever get it right!!! Thanks so much for posting!!!!

  • @amd77j

Indeed the "Golden Age Of Music" has been long past but, the recordings of their great works will live on.

  • One of the musicians who can make music to an religon

  • Great photos and some rare ones too. I think though that the band shown at 0.40 is Fletcher Henderson's and the close up is of a young Coleman Hawkins rather than Bechet.

  • It well may be, the photo selection is not mine.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • @jazzbowable

Yes, you have correctly identified Henderson and Hawkins.

  • Mine also, pleased you enjoyed it.

  • One of my favorite records! Thanks!!
