  • at 2:50 it switches to the fast bass riff, before that it's in half time... he's right. but it does not matter. everyones has there own way of playing this song!! thats whats so fun about it!!! otherwise great job!!! i'll be posting my video of this song soon!! I'm working on that crazy bass slappin part towards the end!!

  • sorry to point this out but the song you are playing on the cd is called those days.

    not it's our world.

if it got mixed up somehow then i don't know. but on the one i have those days sounds like the one you are playing along to

  • The drum guide chart that goes with this tune has "It's Our World" on it, so seems odd that it is different on your CD. I just found (amazed I played something similar) the link to the CD from Bernhard Lackner (Bernie) and you will see that it is called "It's Our World" (can't seem to post the link but search CDBaby for Bernhard Lackner and check out the Those Days CD samples). Perhaps you should shoot Spence at DrumFun an email and ask him

  • what hi hats are those Zildjian K's?

  • i think you misunderstood the musical context at 2:53 , imo this should be played in halftime.

  • @KaffeekocheR1 Each to their own opinions I guess - Please upload your version so I can see how that sounds.

  • @KaffeekocheR1 Naaa mate, your wrong, how he is playing it is perfect he's following the fast bass riff, it sounds epic hows hes playing it

  • To the right of your ride, is that a 13" hat with a 13" china under it? It sounds nice

  • Wow!! great playing..really good!!

  • Thank you very much for the kind words.

Danish - I recorded this track using the Tascam 2488 I had at the time (changed now to PC/software based recording)

  • that is mad groovy man. you play like a true vet man.

  • That's some groovy shit! Very nicely played!

Great sound you have as well! How did you record it?

  • I have no idea, I have bought pieces here and there over a number of years.

  • Great sound! How much did your set cost all together?

  • To all Drummers; and to all of you who know Drummers. Everyone should Have at least one or two CD's from the "Turn it up and Lay it Down" series. Especially you Drummers who aren't finding time to Play in Bands. Remember why you started to play? It's Fun!!

  • you play like a seasond vet. great sound! What kind of snare is that? I have 13by 6 joey jordison signature that sounds like that.

  • Thanks for the comment. I wish I could have more time to practice to get into the session scene here in Denver.

The snare is a 12x5 Pork Pie called the Little Squealer. Was real cheap but sounds great.

  • Thank you everyone for the kind comments. Hoping to get some more clips up when work slows down a bit next month.

  • Great job man. I liked the way you set up the different sections. You inspired me to pick up that "burnin with bernie" disc....great stuff.

  • dam good job. god i cant wait to get my turn it up lay it down cd's.

  • Yeh. really nice, great job.

  • Great Job!! I love your interpretation of what should/could be laid down on that track! Great timing too.
