These weapons are designed for extended periods of firing. They have to be with the amount of ammo they go through.

But normaly a Minigun shouldnt have glowing Barrels,thats why it uses many Barrels,so each Barrel only has to fire so many Rounds that it doesnt starts to glow.

So this Minigun is build wrong.Perhaps the Barrels are not thick enough.Or the ROF is too high.

This video is night vision it works of low level light amplification and infrared red amplification. That barrel might be more than hot enough to throw off tons of lower frequency infrared light wavelengths but in normal light to the naked eye the barrel appears normal.

night vision requires noticeable infra red radiation or opther light to create an image - so it would still have to glow.

Noticeable IR radiation is exactly what those barrels would be "glowing" with! They could easily reach a couple hundred degrees Fahrenheit: below the threshold for incandescence but interpreted as visible light by the camera. Steel needs to hit about 1000 F before it attains what blacksmiths call "black-red" and 2000 F to reach a bright yellow.

That's not true. If it was, you could see the IR illuminator on night vision equipment with your naked eye (And you cannot. Neither can you see IR radiation from your remote control with your eye). The barrels were not that hot. (Bright) At best they were glowing dull read to the naked eye. There's a video of a standard camcorder taping the red-hot barrels of a mini gun here on youtube. They don't glow that bright, not even after extended use.

Just thought I'd mention: Since the video is being recorded at night the camera is definatly using a 'night vision' mode. In heat, IR light is present before visable light. When looking with the naked eye those barrels were likely just barely getting dark red. Since the camera picks up IR light, it shows up brilliant on the video.

Just point a camera at a TV remotes emmiter and press a button for an example of camera detecting what your eyes cant
