This song is from the early 80s, like around 81. I remember our choir at Trinity Chapel Assembly of God in Compton, CA learning it. Alfonso Freeman, Morgan's son, was our Musical Director.

Oh LORD!!!! This si classic. i am blessed to know the family, and most of the choir. and what is so blessed about Brother David is this, when he gets a revelation from GOD, he really sits down and puts the revelation to music. A blessing to the body of Christ.
Dear Johnzoe777 can you please post this album on youtube.........D.R.Curry Memorial Choir "Lift Jesus Up" I'm looking for "LORD Take Control". Thanks
The one and only David Curry Jr. This album was no. 1 in Chicago with the song He'll make a way song by his brother Tim Curry. Father Hayes, Trinity and the Tommys gave way to this one. A church choir who was committed to Church and not travel was the a major reason they did not rise with Malaco.
This one of the greatest choirs of all times...before the MS Mass and all of the other major choirs...THEY SET THE STANDARD!!! Represent Jackson, MS!!!
This is David Curry Jr. and his wife Emma, Brother Tim Curry and sisters. One of the best kept secrets for years until the MS Mass and Frank Williams.
I've been a long time friend of some of the members of this choir for many years as a matter of fact they performed this song at my church back in the 80s and it's still a great song today I tell you gospel never wears out thanks and keep posting that good music
DR Curry did their version. Keith & PCC came out with their version a year later. I have Keith & PCC's version of Lift him up from the album Prayer & Faith on cd.
I've worked with several gospel artists such as Rev. Cleveland, Min. Pringle, and Dr. Clark. I've learned that many artists write songs that they do not record themselves. They may record it later. CNP, Daryl Coley arranged The Beattitudes recorded by Wilmington Chester MC, however, we were singing Coley's version in L.A. many years before WCMC recorded it. Thanks for the info.
i have this album...! listen to it everyday!

To hear D.R. Curry choir sing this in person, Sis Emma leading this, and Brother David playing this on the organ, makes one want to Lift Jesus Up.
