Exiled Tibetan are yelling "China out of Tibet". So, it means that they will have an ethnic cleaning on any non-tibetan ethnic as well as Tibet ethnic who do not support Dalai (the so called red tiebtan), if Tibet is really independent. It will defintely cause a bloody ethnic war, just like what happended in Georigia. Chinese are fully aware about it, therefore they support CCP on this issue even they may dislike CCP. Nazi Germany had an international Peace Conference planned for 1939. The Olympics and the propaganda didn't change Hitler's plans.

If you watch the movie Obessession, there's someone who mentions that Winston Churchill had failed. Churchill thought he had failed because for years, he'd been warning everyone against Hitler. And when war broke out, Churchill became Prime Minister and he though it was too late. Millions of lives could have been saved if only he had gotten his message across.

Who are we to act as infallible moral authorities? If we can challenge China's fitness to host the games, can we challenge its fitness to engage in trade with us? Is it not extremely probably that our economically symbiotic ties with China also contribute to and confer our indifference to the systemic human rights abuses? I think such criticisms are propelled by our effective use of "sheer political power" to feed a supremacist view of ourselves.

We are not infallible moral authorities. Rather, we are human beings with a sensitivity to the conditions of other human beings. The Chinese people are suffering from a blatant abuse of human rights brought about by a totalitarian gov't. I agree with you that trading with China while criticizing their human rights is hypocritical. However, we must learn from our mistakes and draw the line. Our message to China must be clear: give the Chinese people the human rights that are long overdue.

No, China is not civilized enough to host the Olympics, due to human rights abuses, bad treatment of people in Tibet, lack of freedom of speech, and a barbaric 1-child policy they probably let Western contraceptive imperilists push upon them to set precedent to later impose global draconian depopulation agenda.

We aren't aren't civilized for not boycotting the Olypics. Besides, gasoline prices are too high, so boycott unnecessary driving/sports.

How do you figure, americas is guilty of numerous war crimes and human rights violations against the world and its own people, invades countrys with missinformation and igonres the very requests they force on others. during the start of the war in iraq usa called china part of the "axis of evil" only to make them a free trade partner a year later. The Chinese gov't jails dissidents without trial. Chinese labor is inhumanely cheap...an average wage of 46 cents an hour. The Chinese gov't pours its money into supporting other tyrannical regimes such as those in Burma and Darfur, has thousands of missiles aimed at Taiwan, oppresses the rightful cry of Tibetans to be given human rights, among many other atrocities. The U.S. is far from perfect. However, what the Chinese gov't is forcing upon its people must not be overlooked.

Ok let me show you the connection here. USA holds "enemy combatants" with no trial. USA has one of the lowest minimum wages in the wolrd starting at $5 an hour. The USA sells weapons to its enemys, its allies, the enemys of its allies and everyone else not to mention funding radical groups to commit coup in south america, afganistan, europe and asia. Well, I agree that the U.S. gov't is far from perfect. However, it is high time that China improves the living conditions of the Chinese ppl. I regard the Chinese ppl as fellow human beings that deserve to be treated better, to be given a chance. They are not tools for the Chinese gov't to flaunt, saying "we have 1.1 billion ppl so we are great etc." Human beings are not to be used as threats. Esp. when the Chinese gov't treats them so inhumanely.

As for missiles, China has 1000 missiles aimed at Taiwan, a democratic, human rights respecting country that has done nothing wrong except seek independence from a totalitarian, biased society controlled by a select few.

I agree with your points, however its a matter of simply, the pot calling the kettle black. Again im repeating what you say with names changed, the US also needs to improve its living conditions, its international relations and the treatment of its own people and those of other nations. Your own experts have said that its possible 90% of detainees at X_ray are not likely terrorists.

As for the missles, USA has missles aimed at "ALL" major citys, allied, enemy, democratic, communist ALL of them.

last off my friend you probly dont realise that the majority of chinese people love thier country and have no problem with its rule. USA also has wrongly convicted activists, have killed protestors and civil rights leaders , shot students at a peacefull rally, underhandedly created an image of terrorism from the religion of islam, and turned an intire country into rubble for the sake of petrol. all im saying is clean up your own yard before telling your neighbour how to maintain thier lawns.
