wow ! good video. do u have a video on how the economy got this way. I bet it had some to do with that dame bush. all this shit happen when he was in office.
Obama is the man. Nobody knows wtf is going on. It's all nothing but oppinions. I am just glad Bush is gone. Now we have to clean up after that moron for decades to come. Make that more if Palin somehow fucks her way to the top.
I can't stand Obama bashers who think they have it figured out. Grow up and support ur president dipshit.
Grow a brain you loon. We're tired of your liberal junior-high trash on how you understand Obama and how great he is and how he will save you, and how everything Obama can't do is because of Bush. You are the first person to be screwed by Obama. So shut that stupid mouth of yours, get a job, move out of the house, and start paying taxes. We'll see how generous you will be with your money. Scumbag.
do you really believe people in fucking caves were behind 9/11, no it was your own government.
Wake up, it's all an illusion, Obama is just a piece of it, as he has revealed himself to be.
He said he would stop the war, he said he would go after Osama (who can't be found by the CIA, but can be found by some CNN journalist with a camera crew to record the interview), if he has such a problem delivering he shouldn't be in politics.
people in caves causing mass destruction? no, i cant belie,......oh wait, Vietnam ring and bells? "behind 9/11"? what do caves have anything to do with it, If they lived in houses does that make them inept? your ignorance is like fucking power bars to me. nomnomnom ill keep eating.
the whole point is this is just as bullshit as the gulf of tonkin incident which the US used as an excuse to go to war, and had 68,000 people die for it.
You don't realize, Afghanistan's living conditions are like the 12th century, with cell phones.
You're telling me, people who were hiding in caves and mud huts masterminded a complex attach that the FBI and CIA couldn't counter act?
No, it's a fucking lie. And speaking of eating, you lapped that bullshit up and asked for seconds.
part two...OCCY13, obama is a fucking lie, he's a new bush, he's coke zero, and i like the original more. Because at least everyone knew that was a fake.
Worse then Bush? Are you crazy? Nobody can be worse then that guy. I'm sad to see that after only 10 months you are already throwing OUR president under the bus. That's very white of you. Sorry to say but it will take decades to undo Bush's mistakes.
Really white??? You asshole, I'm hardly white! What's white is all the fuckers calling me a sand nigger because I have funny name! What's white is you assuming anyone who has a harsh criticism of a black person to be a racist.
I have found poor black people who feel the exact same way I do about Obama.
ASSHOLES LIKE YOU ARE THE REASON NOBODY TALKS ABOUT PEOPLE HONESTLY, LET ALONE HAVE DISCUSSIONS ABOUT RACE, BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS PLAY THE RACE CARD. I HOPE YOUR LOVED ONES DIE OF CANCER, ASSHOLE
What a piece of shit you are. Way to take my puns way out of hand. I actually just came back from my uncle's funeral who died from cancer. You are an asshole and if you were here i would slap you around like the bitch you are.
@occy13 God bless you and give you peace. I know how many times I cried for I had worked so hard and hateful can never make sense to me when ya try to figure the mess out it just depresses one. You have to see we do have might fighting evil leaders and bcs they are the fewer.
I would totally agree with you! Except... "That's very white of you." I could decide to say, "That's very black of you to say that," but I try not to act like the person I'm critisizing. Jeez, I'm white, and I think Obama has in no way done worse than Bush. Don't bring race into this. Please.
Fine. Every has an oppinion and you have yours. But to wish death and sickness to my family??? You are an evil child for wishing something like that on someone. You should feel ashammed of urself.
Now who is the coke zero now? You are! You're a dried up cunt. Grow the fuck up and get a life.
@occy13 Don't mean to sound preachy but I came on youtube to address the harms these corrupt bad leaders in MI did endangering ppls welfare& lives. Bush?
If I ever get to I'll spit in his face for I learned he is also a child hater as MI government has been! That was why he did not answer my distressed letter for help over corrupt & getting my kids from Michigan. He stole years & financial from us. Get jesus it tells in the bible. Me shocked more on youtube? YES for check the favorites.
I wouldn't think that BORROWING (What was it? 3 BILLION) would be considered new money in the economy. It would be considered new DEBT.
Nothing has changed with the way business is done, do you think these people could all afford this new debt? I sure hope so, because if not, that's just inflating another bubble. And guess who gets left holding the bag?
This is the irony of it all. We really needed a fiscal conservative and people got duped into electing another liberal into office like Bush. Really we need a Libertarian in Office for Fiscal conservative responsibility and private liberalism. The problem is the public in large is stupid and uneducated. So everyone votes for their own demise. People don't have a clue!
Yes, it is a dismal end to the summer & i blame Obummer Tighten your purse strings & spend no more than you can afford The dark overlord is using change as a sword No, he is not as friendly as he may seem He is here to slay any hopes you may dream Mandatory health care is coming your way & no he does not care what you say Yesterday we had joy today there is a growing sorrow Will your speech be free tomorrow? Time will tell If the people can wake up from Obummer's spell.
We need a 24/7 watch dog. Sometimes we go to sleep, and wake up with a new bill/law passed and no one ever knew about the bill/law in the first place!!!!!!1
Earnings are up, YES. BUT, Revenue's are down. Weird huh? all the rich guys went - "ehhh they want to punish me after I feed them and their families? Screw EM - i don't need half of these idiot workers."
Yes...the low rent struggling Obama voters, the people who he owes it to - are the people first to be screwed.
Deflation is one of the negative results of a shrinking economy. Cash for clunkers and all of these other programs you're upset about are designed to put new money into the economy. creating new money to put into the economy is what you want to do if you want to counteract deflation. I agree with you that its a little disingenuous to not take those programs into account when the data was put together, but I'm not convinced the two programs you mentioned were designed solely to trick us.
the federal reserve and the big banks conspired to create this mess and reposses billion of dollars and assets from the middle class its called the carrot and stick method, all the government is trying to do is soften the blow and cushion the landing thats all they can do until they audit the fed and we see exactly what went on .i smell a rat and only history will tell, federal reserve and the big banks but you can bet if the people really knew as henry ford put it we would revolt by morning
Great video, once again. Thankfully, I took proper care of my own financial situation in time. But I feel sorry for the ones who respond to your videos negatively and clearly do NOT have a frigging clue. Vision Victory, Karl Denninger, yes folks: those are the ones who bring you the real deal. And if you don't understand what they're telling you, then get yourself informed before it's too late. It's a shame that we have to watch youtube to hear what's really going on.
I completely agree, my dad owns a small used car dealership and usually gets his cars from larger dealerships (that they take in on trade) and he's having a hard time finding cars right now, and he could have bought the ones that were trashed during cash for clunkers, I'm sure plenty of people would have loved to have a running car. Oh well, whaddya gonna do!
not that i agree with the clunkers program but i wasnt intended to stimulate the auto industry it was supposed to reduce gas guzzling emmision polutting older cars which was a big failure also lol but anyway i like my 86 chevy 4x4 and to hell with saving a 4000 on a new one i wouldnt trade her for 10000 credit and car payment shes been paid for since 1991 and i like it that way and it did take jobs away from junk haulers, mechs, auto parts dismantlers, hardly worth the 4000 credit they offered
some of the cars that they scrapped were perfectly good, and not even that old. A couple friends were telling me that they traded in their vehicles (newer than 00), now you can't tell me the gas mileage is THAT bad on those cars, I doubt a lot of muscle cars or hummers were taken off the road for this program ;o) I just think it was a waste that perfectly good running cars could not even be re-sold or at least donated, but I suppose I should just stop expecting common sense from washington.
true liberal style tax tax then give give give to someone else rob peter to pay paul its endless im so sick of these clowns on both side, the repubs want cheap slaves of us all and the dems want u to make good money so they can tax the hell out of that check,we need a revolution ron paul in 2012 and for christ sakes get out of the u.n. already
Ron Paul is a douche. I used to support him until he started lionizing terrorists, bad mouthing his own country and advocating an insane isolationist ideology. He's turned right wingers into America hating liberals but with lower taxes.
and your choice would be/? there arent any i dont even know about ron either but who else it always comes down to lesser evil i hate this shit anyways i wondr why he voted against the latest unemployment extension knowing how many people need help and also question wether hes a freemason or not but havent found any answers .i hope we get a good candidate soon though if not ill go with ron paul
Someone like Gingrich or Romney would make a great presidental candidate in 2012 in my opinion. And Free Masons are cool. I know quite a few and they're great people. Don't believe the bullshit conspiracy theories about them.
nah they are too conservative we need a radical change not the same ol same ol as for freemasons, the lower degrees have no idea what the top leadership is up to which are the ones in question since they are usually high ranking members of are government 33 degreers but even if there was a hint of conspiracy our government should investigate them just like any other group i.e.hells angels that they try to infiltrate but that doesnt happen with the secret society ....why?
There were rules applied to what could and couldn't be accepted with the program. Either your friends' cars were within the rules, someone fudged the details, or your friends are just liars.
Hay, if the redistribution of wealth is a socialist practice, what would the redistribution of the American Middleclasses wealth to the third world be? :Global Socialism

Where's the money? Its sitting there waiting on the interest rates to go up. The bankers I've talked to say that they have no motivation to loan money out in this risky economy at 5%. They're waiting until the rates go back up to 10% or 15% before they feel good about loaning money again.
Natural forces will bring housing prices down in ways no one can imagine.
2010 will be a real killer on home debters
People who believe jobs are plentiful are either dumb, clueless or just don't give a damn about the millions (and millions more) who will never find a good job again.
Well said theroilsoil, housing will return the prices in the 1950s. Right again: our economy will never recover, because this is a carefull contrived plan to bankrput the conunty. Outsource our manufacturing, open our borders, to cheap labor, 40% of Americans are not native born, 20 million are here illegally. Free Trade agreement makes the country nothing but, a dumping ground for every kind of over manufactured goods and farm products.
The point of C4C was to pump money into the economy and remove gas guzzlers from the roads, and with that it succeeded. Certain people with different agendas like to twist the results around, saying that because the program ran out of money quicker meant it failed, which is like saying Nintendo failed because it sold out of Wii units faster than expected.
people don't understand what is GDP and the meaning of it. the original idea is GDP is used to measure how much an economic produced. and the idea is people consume what they produced. therefore GDP is really measure the consumption if export minus import is negative. especially this export minus import value is very very large.
Don't forget about the people who depend on charity organizations for free vehicles!! Many charity organizations are feeling the pinch because of C4C!!
Cash 4 Clunkers isn't doing car places any good right now is it?!
and noone is really talking about how the people that went in for cash for clunkers got screwed on the prices. So they ended up spending $2K-$4K more than they had to just cuz of the $8000. A lot of them also had cars that were worth something, so in the end if their car was worth a few thousand and they over paid, they made nothing except for a loan they couldnt afford for a car they didnt need. STUPID GOV PROGRAMS
Just to let you guys know, CIT Group has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. I can't say I'm surprised, because I called this in July. Meanwhile the propaganda still continues; recovery my ass.
Hey! I have an idea for your next video. How's this sound? you and your fat friend George4title looking for a job.
First thing you need to do is pick up a newspaper. then circle the jobs that fit your skills. How about Bullshit artists? or maybe Douche' bags? Bring a resume'.
I know this comment will not be novel. If a large percentage of people begins to hoard their wealth, then the out come is predictable. If collective wealth is taken out of circulation, then one can expect a decline in the growth of the economy. Who benefits from the hysteria created by the money changers? To be honest I am a fiscal conservative and have my share of metals. That said, I believe it is important to keep our economy going by spending -- spending wisely -- but spending. ... mtc
How do you get GDP growth in a recession? Just ask the folks in Wiemar Germany or modern Zimbabwe; start the presses. Want to do it without being obvious? Sell Treasuries to a third party, who sells them to the Fed 10 days later. Oh no, not us, we're not monetizing the debt!
Yes Vision, but you support outsourcing, and outsourcing agreements. You support, and encourage investing offshore instead of your own country. Then you get on your channel and tell everyone how bad it is. Don't you consider that to be hypocritic. If you tell everyone not to buy chevys and then complain about the condition of G.M. isn't that doubletongued. Is this your country, or are you sitting in some global vantage point making all these judgements.
What would suggest we invest in?Companies being manipulated by the government and it's charity programs?I think I can speak for alot of people when I say that I will never buy a GM product until our government gets out of the car business.
Outsourcing is not the cause of economic problems, it's the effect of economic problems. In the US we have a system of laws that comes as close to possible to banning manufacturing without actually banning it. Why shouldn't a company move overseas? If our regulatory burden is not going to improve, then outsourcing is a better result than having protectionist policies.
We are getting exactly what we deserve: we've nearly banned business and business has moved overseas to survive.
So you are saying american industry was poor an beggerly when they operated in the U.S. Our Appliance, Automotive, Auto. Parts, Glass, Ceramic, Textile, Shoe, lighting, Radio, T.V., Computer, machine tool, ect. all were going bankrupt. If you believe that I have a bridge I would like to sell you.
The fact is that that these multinationals looked at .20/hr labor in the third world and decided they liked that. Than they convinced folks link you that tariffs were sinful. This is the result.
No, I am saying what I wrote: that government has nearly regulated manufacturing out of business. Our manufacturing even managed to do well even when caving to unions in the decades prior to the popularization of outsourcing.
I've both worked for a multinational that outsourced and have been an employer so I know something about this.
First off, outsourcing is nowhere near as easy as comparing wages and regulations. My tech company outsourced to China and it was constantly flying people out for 2-week trips to that office. Likewise, employees from that office had to take trips to the US offices.
Second, while the regulations are reduced, they still exist and you still need to employ someone who understands the laws specific to that country in order to operate. Then remember that you have to hire someone who can handle the language barrier and can be trusted.
Third, while those wages look great you get what you paid for. Our Chinese employees were notorious for producing sloppy, halfassed work even though some were incredibly skilled. We've all heard the stories of chinese drywall, lead paint in toys, toxic pet food and others coming from these people. Lawsuits, additional product repairs, wasted QA time, and having the Chinese guy design something twice needs taken into account.
Time zones also screwed things up. They'd send something to me, wait hours for me to respond, then I'd have to wait hours for them to respond back. Meetings were a pain because they had to be held at a weird hour.
While outsourcing is a pain, it's still often required because doing that and working within a communist nation like China is still easier than doing things in the "capitalist" USA!
As an employer, I avoid employment because of the regulations & paperwork. I use labor services to handle those issues, but that adds about 50% to my hourly wages. Paying someone $12 costs $17.70 due to the overhead and profit of the labor company. This causes me to try to do as much of the labor myself as possible.
I have been in business also and I know the hassle, I considered it overhead, and part of the cost of the product. I have always felt a strong loyalty to my country and my countrymen. I don't trust your motives for outsourcing, those cheap labor costs, maximizes profits and completes the race to the bottom. I don't mean to offend you, but you outsource because you can outsource, destroying the very market you want to sell in. A tariff is needed at our border to rain multinationals in.
louie - The G20 and WTO are specially DESIGNED to THWART "PROTECTIONISM" (Tariffs are exactly what they work against!) Every time ratify yet another "Trade Agreement" we LOSE another bit of our SOVEREIGNTY! Congress can NOT overrule or RESCIND whatever our "trade ambassadors" agree upon. How's THAT for TREASON??
Its just scary isn't it? Don't you wish that the system would just go ahead and crash? That way, we can wait till the dust settle, look around, see what is worth keeping and just start rebuilding.
They Reward the Banks that are Failures, and encourage them to Grow until they are "Too Big to Fail" while Punishing the responsible Banks by giving the Losers an unfair advantage.
I notice Gold was going down along the mass sell off early on Friday. Then by noon it not only took a stand but also started to rebound and nearly recovered all the loss for the day.
It could signal that more and more investors have realize that gold, instead of these overvalued S&P stocks, is the real dependable asset to own during a time of crisis so they move money into it. I could be wrong but we will see.
i've been following you for a few months, and i must say i'm always looking forward to your videos. always backing up what you say with FACTS. thanks for doing what you are doing, and i will continue you to support vision victory.
As long as people get endless unemployment benefits making it not worth looking for a job, the sheeple are not going to wake up. That is the reality. End all safety nets or watch our economy coninually head downward.
Never talk like this to anyone you know though. They thing your a jerk if your against safety nets like welfare, extended unemployment benefits.
Im ok with social security and even medicare, and even for mentally disabled because most of those people paid into the system to begin with. But thats where I draw the line.
I really hope your baby gets here before the ship sinks. I REALLY don't think it will be long. I emailed you a vid about martial law from a border patrol agent.
Actaully there are plenty of jobs available. What is fundamentally different however is they are not the career types people have gone to college for and or lost recently.
Keep up the great work. Thanks to listening to you and KittenKatten, we're out of credit card debt, mortgage paid off, downsized to one car with no payments. Stocked on food and buying G&S. The best free advice that I've ever had. Wake up people!!!
I agree vision, crazyness. I couldn't believe the Dow went up Thursday then Friday came around and reality hit them.. SAVE THE DOLLAR , not ruin it Congress/Obama/Supreme
Court!!! If they save the dollar that would be great, yea well have a very bad recession but the country can walk it off in the long run. You see they invited small business owners to the White House?? Hopefully they opened some eyes there, needs to happen!!
I heard on a recent financial podcast that corporations. are drasticly cutting back their R&D staff and budgets. That means no new innovations for awhile. Plus a lot top notch people out of work.
I think Elliot Wave is expecting the next long downturn to have either have started or to be starting soon! I was a day early with the popcorn comment on the last vid. But a 200+pt. drop hasn't happened in a while.
V.V.- Do you think that the Stock Market will have any of the violent point swings that it had last fall and earlier this year anytime soon?? Appreciate you analysis!
hey margie, its a good q. a pullback is inevitable but how much is hard to predict. i had a think about it. if it drops 25% is it enough to justify another bailout? or maybe it has to reach the lows of march 2009 or even worse to 'justify' another bailout?
obama, bush, clinton, anyone who is a.one in a"power position" R just mind-controled puppets! they dont even know that they are be'g mind-controlled by the very elitists that are run'g this awful show! they are follow'g a hierarchy of control & that means exactly how it sounds! this is the most mind-controlled planet ever from hollywd to state legislature.theyre all related by genealogy,R covert agents for elitists & must be controlled COMPLETELY. this is not obamas plan,he's just follow'g ORDERS!
Happy Halloween! People should TP the White House... if they could afford the toilet paper, that is.
Advice: be sure to borrow as much as you can now while the gettin's good! These stimulus plans don't come from nowhere, you know... it's just the money that comes from nowhere.
It shows the "govts"--ELITISTS are show'g their CORRUPTION--RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR EYES!!! & all we CAN do is wait & see how they crash into a wall, pick themselves up& carry on like noth'g happened & pat themselves on the back for transform'g OUR Consensus Reality into a mess that they dreamed of for so long for themselves! numbers dont mean a thing. they just want to drive a huge portion of the world pop into the ground. their plans are right in front of us. they want this world for themselves.
I'm in California and it sounds like Florida is under water at the rise of it all California average medium house was crazy $615,000.00 and California has extended unemployment benefits @ a cost of 3billion dollars, this coming year state tax rape!!!
there are jobs out there. problem is ue benefits prevent people from wanting to work. the other problem is that too many wont work jobs traditionally worked by immigrants. just check on craigslist in any city. you will see plenty of job postings. you may not be making 60K anymore, but how about 30K?
wake up monte! my dad raised six of us on 24K for years and we all had happy childhoods and learned a lot. instead of nikes, we had pro wings. instead of my own room, i shared with my brothers. instead of nintendo, we played outside. problem is everyone is an entitled baby thanks to the nanny state. quit bitchin and make somehting happen monte. its not that bad. you are just paralyzed
vloggercentral1 - ditto, I grew up in large family (one of 10). My father earned 26k & my mom stayed at home. We didn't have the latest fashions, expensive toys/electronics or pricey vacations - we played outside, wore hand-me-downs & went camping on vacation. Most US kids today are spoiled - they don't appreciate anything and expect the world when they graduate from college. I heard a CEO of a co. say that her 20 somethings expect to earn 6 figures within 3 years after graduating from college!
a bunch of scumbags running a muck in america. negativity everywhere everyone wants to bullshit you fuckem game the gamers. now thats some urban survival daniel and they'll get it from johnny ! lol
Excellent video. I like the way you point out (and many people forget) about the mechanics and used car dealers etc whose businesses have suffered as a result of cash for clunkers.
This new claim running amuck on CNBC on government stimulus creating and/or saving jobs is just a pillow to soften the impact of the jobs report due out the end of next week that will most likely put the US in "offical" double digit unemployment.
I read on UBS yesterday that the Dow losses were mostly attributed to Wall Street beginning to believe that the economic recovery may not be sustainable. DUH - Do you think?
all your videos are good, but i dont see you comming up with another way to help the economy? what do u think we should do besides let the economy fall to the dirt on your feet, give me some ways you will help the economy? I think we should look at how we can help or at least what u think its the best move towards a recovery instead of constant bashing as if the people dont know jobs are lost
Cut taxes. Cut regulations that are stifling small businesses. Stop the wall street and banker scams instead of handing tax payer dollars over to them.
Get the US out of trade agreements like NAFTA and GATT.
In short. Do just about everything OPPOSITE of what we have been doing.
A 'viable' 3rd party will be allowed influence when the controllers (who control the present 2 parties) are convinced that the 3rd party is 'owned'. Recruits for 3rd party office(s) gotta have kinks and perversions for which they can be blackmailed and controlled, easier so far to find democrats and republicans for this....
This is a problem that can easily be fixed. We have been here before and know how to deal with it all you need to do is deficit neutral fiscal stimulus that can be sustained, for example tax goldman sachs executive bonuses (goldman pays 1% tax) then permanently increase teachers pay they will spend it at a higher rate than goldman and therefore will permanently boost demand. You do this extensively combined with regulatory reform and other methods. You do not run up the deficit.
A woman named Nomi (first name) has a good book out on Wall Street's shenanigans. I recall during the huge recession in NYC around 1990, half the small to medium sized businesses failed, and people who sold in shops couldn't get jobs -- fewer stores, and fewer buyers. Cautious optimism here in France, and slow, slow recovery. Ugh.
Will we get jobs with a stimulus package included? Yipee! a job plus food stamps. Hardly a time to be optimistic. There is a marked contractiion and sharp changes in economic activities. If you hang them all upside down they'll still say everyting is looking up.
The sad thing is that before our very eyes our money, homes, investments, education, science & technology, infrastructure, manufacturing are all crumbling and yet the mainstream seem to be ignorant of all this.
I guess that the idea of living in a democracy and a "free" society and years of dominance has led us into complacency and that all problems will resolve itself. The only way to recover is to recognize the problems that we are in. Yet fake GDP #s are nothing but denial.
My husband and everyone at their heating and ac business are laid off. Half last week and the rest this week. About 17 people all together. Sad day for us!

OK, I mostly agree with your assessment of the negative situation we are in. The question is, what would you be doing? What is the answer?
Hopeful71 2 years ago
Deflation is one of the negative results of a shrinking economy. Cash for clunkers and all of these other programs you're upset about are designed to put new money into the economy. creating new money to put into the economy is what you want to do if you want to counteract deflation. I agree with you that its a little disingenuous to not take those programs into account when the data was put together, but I'm not convinced the two programs you mentioned were designed solely to trick us.
icthus560 2 years ago 2
"creating new money to put into the economy is what you want to do if you want to counteract deflation"
yes, but that is the most short sighted and ultimately destructive approach-the government cannot create real wealth, it can only re-distribute it.

Oh well, whaddya gonna do!
mtwood992211 2 years ago
not that i agree with the clunkers program but i wasnt intended to stimulate the auto industry it was supposed to reduce gas guzzling emmision polutting older cars which was a big failure also lol but anyway i like my 86 chevy 4x4 and to hell with saving a 4000 on a new one i wouldnt trade her for 10000 credit and car payment shes been paid for since 1991 and i like it that way and it did take jobs away from junk haulers, mechs, auto parts dismantlers, hardly worth the 4000 credit they offered
procuts69 2 years ago
some of the cars that they scrapped were perfectly good, and not even that old. A couple friends were telling me that they traded in their vehicles (newer than 00), now you can't tell me the gas mileage is THAT bad on those cars, I doubt a lot of muscle cars or hummers were taken off the road for this program ;o) I just think it was a waste that perfectly good running cars could not even be re-sold or at least donated, but I suppose I should just stop expecting common sense from washington.

theroilsoil 2 years ago
Well said theroilsoil, housing will return the prices in the 1950s. Right again: our economy will never recover, because this is a carefull contrived plan to bankrput the conunty. Outsource our manufacturing, open our borders, to cheap labor, 40% of Americans are not native born, 20 million are here illegally. Free Trade agreement makes the country nothing but, a dumping ground for every kind of over manufactured goods and farm products.
louiethegreater 2 years ago
I will tell you why C4C didn't work. In order to qualify you still needed good credit so if you had bad credit you lost out.
RedFlameEnt 2 years ago
The point of C4C was to pump money into the economy and remove gas guzzlers from the roads, and with that it succeeded. Certain people with different agendas like to twist the results around, saying that because the program ran out of money quicker meant it failed, which is like saying Nintendo failed because it sold out of Wii units faster than expected.
throwingchicken 2 years ago
people don't understand what is GDP and the meaning of it. the original idea is GDP is used to measure how much an economic produced. and the idea is people consume what they produced. therefore GDP is really measure the consumption if export minus import is negative. especially this export minus import value is very very large.

That said, I believe it is important to keep our economy going by spending -- spending wisely -- but spending. ... mtc

Is this your country, or are you sitting in some global vantage point making all these judgements.
louiethegreater 2 years ago
What would suggest we invest in?Companies being manipulated by the government and it's charity programs?I think I can speak for alot of people when I say that I will never buy a GM product until our government gets out of the car business.
mcap52 2 years ago
Then my friend you are about to get exactly what you deserve.
louiethegreater 2 years ago
Outsourcing is not the cause of economic problems, it's the effect of economic problems. In the US we have a system of laws that comes as close to possible to banning manufacturing without actually banning it. Why shouldn't a company move overseas? If our regulatory burden is not going to improve, then outsourcing is a better result than having protectionist policies.
We are getting exactly what we deserve: we've nearly banned business and business has moved overseas to survive.
ScubaSteve1974 2 years ago
So you are saying american industry was poor an beggerly when they operated in the U.S. Our Appliance, Automotive, Auto. Parts, Glass, Ceramic, Textile, Shoe, lighting, Radio, T.V., Computer, machine tool, ect. all were going bankrupt. If you believe that I have a bridge I would like to sell you.
The fact is that that these multinationals looked at .20/hr labor in the third world and decided they liked that. Than they convinced folks link you that tariffs were sinful. This is the result.
louiethegreater 2 years ago
No, I am saying what I wrote: that government has nearly regulated manufacturing out of business. Our manufacturing even managed to do well even when caving to unions in the decades prior to the popularization of outsourcing.
ScubaSteve1974 2 years ago
I've both worked for a multinational that outsourced and have been an employer so I know something about this.
First off, outsourcing is nowhere near as easy as comparing wages and regulations. My tech company outsourced to China and it was constantly flying people out for 2-week trips to that office. Likewise, employees from that office had to take trips to the US offices.
ScubaSteve1974 2 years ago
Second, while the regulations are reduced, they still exist and you still need to employ someone who understands the laws specific to that country in order to operate. Then remember that you have to hire someone who can handle the language barrier and can be trusted.
ScubaSteve1974 2 years ago
Third, while those wages look great you get what you paid for. Our Chinese employees were notorious for producing sloppy, halfassed work even though some were incredibly skilled. We've all heard the stories of chinese drywall, lead paint in toys, toxic pet food and others coming from these people. Lawsuits, additional product repairs, wasted QA time, and having the Chinese guy design something twice needs taken into account.
Timezones screw things up too
ScubaSteve1974 2 years ago
Time zones also screwed things up. They'd send something to me, wait hours for me to respond, then I'd have to wait hours for them to respond back. Meetings were a pain because they had to be held at a weird hour.
ScubaSteve1974 2 years ago
While outsourcing is a pain, it's still often required because doing that and working within a communist nation like China is still easier than doing things in the "capitalist" USA!
As an employer, I avoid employment because of the regulations & paperwork. I use labor services to handle those issues, but that adds about 50% to my hourly wages. Paying someone $12 costs $17.70 due to the overhead and profit of the labor company. This causes me to try to do as much of the labor myself as possible.
ScubaSteve1974 2 years ago 4
I have been in business also and I know the hassle, I considered it overhead, and part of the cost of the product. I have always felt a strong loyalty to my country and my countrymen. I don't trust your motives for outsourcing, those cheap labor costs, maximizes profits and completes the race to the bottom. I don't mean to offend you, but you outsource because you can outsource, destroying the very market you want to sell in. A tariff is needed at our border to rain multinationals in.
louiethegreater 2 years ago
louie - The G20 and WTO are specially DESIGNED to THWART "PROTECTIONISM" (Tariffs are exactly what they work against!) This new claim running amuck on CNBC on government stimulus creating and/or saving jobs is just a pillow to soften the impact of the jobs report due out the end of next week that will most likely put the US in "offical" double digit unemployment.

First step is for the public to WAKE UP and vote in a 3rd party - Republicans & Democrats are the same thing ..
jamaulbrown 2 years ago 10
A 'viable' 3rd party will be allowed influence when the controllers (who control the present 2 parties) are convinced that the 3rd party is 'owned'. Recruits for 3rd party office(s) gotta have kinks and perversions for which they can be blackmailed and controlled, easier so far to find democrats and republicans for this....

there is NO easy way to fix this ..
US consumer over spent for 25 years - might take them 25 years to get on their feet again..
The Government (just like a normal household that's in debt), needs to stop spending and start paying off it's debts ..
jamaulbrown 2 years ago
This is a problem that can easily be fixed. We have been here before and know how to deal with it all you need to do is deficit neutral fiscal stimulus that can be sustained, for example tax goldman sachs executive bonuses (goldman pays 1% tax) then permanently increase teachers pay they will spend it at a higher rate than goldman and therefore will permanently boost demand. You do this extensively combined with regulatory reform and other methods. You do not run up the deficit.

Letting it fall is the solution, we have to clear out all the fraud. We don't have a real economy, there is nothing to fix. Let it burn.

Ugh.
slobomotion 2 years ago
