  • Hi I Have found a FREE Utility named DVD Patcher! It's Patch our videos (first we must rename video to .mpeg) giving them original aspect ratio!

I have also upload a video on my channel where you can see the process!

  • where can i download it? without viruses and trojans and shit... also the camcorder i got is a JVC Everio ms90

  • squared5 . com

  • thanks due! nice to hear from a brit once in a while

  • I agree!

  • I recently purchased a Panasonic SDR-H60 (great cam) and I have converted a couple of the .MOD files to .dv with streamclip. Works great and imports to my Avid and looks/edits great. Props on this vid because I was wondering if there was a batch convert feature! Also.. when I choose export as .dv the file ends up about twice the size. (35mb .MOD to 70mb .dv) is this a waste? Know how I should tweak my settings? Thanks!

  • nice to know you're another one who uses Mpeg Streamclip. It really is a great piece of software isn't it? Well as I work on a Mac I convert it to Quicktime .mov

however if you are using windows this wouldn't be great for compatibility. I would stick with DV as long as the quality stays as good. If you are converting in Movie maker you could convert straight to wmv which would help compatibility.

  • lurker here.... first off wanna say thanks to dazz -- i can't STAND the software on my JVC, it's terribly slow (the program and the conversion). gonna try to batch convert some MOD files tomorrow with this program.

The size likely doubles because the .MOD file is joined with an audio file (try importing a .MOD file as an MPEG into Premiere-- you get video, but no sound). As dazz said, stick to DV for max quality.
