  • Yeah, real fucking professional, some of the shittiest and most dangerous winching I've seen...

  • cool video,

  • what kind of bumper is on the blue disco at 3:59?

  • Comment removed

  • Vraiment un couillon ce type c'est pas la première fois que je vois des vidéo de lui un c'est un putain d’innocent...

  • @MrPontpont33 incroyable

  • Tow balls aren't really designed for recovery.. hence the recovery points

  • Look at that, it's like jelly i'nt it. JUST LIKE YOUR FUCKING BRAINS

  • Professional????????????????

  • LOL I love how the camera just cuts away @ 4:08

  • The mind boggles!!!

  • What a bunch of retards... Where to start with what you did wrong, shackles on a kinetic line, hooking a kinetic line up to a tow strap, not clearing the area of people, trying to pull uphill, using a line connected to a trailer hitch and not mounted tow hooks, no dampener on the line in case if breaks (which it did), you're luck you didn't kill someone. Way to go europe, you're disappointing as always...

  • #America

  • @DjHeath84 alas stupidity demonstrated by some of my countrymen..... I was under the impression you joined straps loop to loop with something soft in the middle to stop the loop getting too tight? but as for recovering uphill, they had no choice, sure would be even more stupid to try and recover forwards deeper into the mud. having said that we aren't all like that, just as all americans aren't all fat and ignorant, just a few that spoil it for the majority

  • Your famous! You get a mention in the February 2012 edition of land rover owner, page 141!!!

    Great work chaps!!

  • Very smart poms. Great way to weed out the gene pool

  • best part is my f250 powerstoke would pull that out with one pull in 4low and a my log chain no yanking .America!!

  • @250beast hmmmm, I think even that oversized pickup would struggle......

  • @250beast Lots of brawn and no brains. Just think how much traction there would be on that loose gravel and then consider the extreeme suction that the flat floor of the stuck car would have. You really did not think before typing.

  • How did no one end up in the hospital?

  • @ericminh Or dead!

  • Dumb

  • 5:17 ...uh apparently not. Your a accident waiting for something to happen. That is just not funny, not impressive, and not cool at all. Dude, dont ACT like you know what your doing if you dont actually know. Next time you might hurt somebody very badly.Knowledge makes you the opposite of KNUCKLEHEAD.......Knucklehead.

  • whats the point of using two straps rated at 20-4000 lbs when your gonna connect them with a piece of crap horseshoe clasp not big enough to withstand much more than 10-15000 ??? you should have ran the second strap through the loop of the other strap. and pulled it back through its own loop to cinch it down.

  • i think some of this lads should go on a propper ran whinch and recovery course

  • Good way to lose a friend... real effin smart! I've had a chain break, come all the way around and go through my front windshield.

  • fuck sake guys. its called a shovel!!!

  • What a bunch of loonies!

  • Keep on the good job guys...

  • "Here lies Bob.... there was no hope,he was killed by a kinetic rope." Idiots.

  • makes me embarrassed to be a Brit.... jesus guys.....

  • very professional filming too...

  • this how some brits make us look fools should be in the description.... forfuggggssss sakes.

  • dig the wheels out for fuck sake!!!

  • Its like the bull and the china shop... all over again!!

  • 10 seconds in a ford. 9 min in the uk.

  • @thetrojanman23 jes but here we drive in expensiv cars not ugly redneck cars

  • lucky none was killed, multiple times over... Should have stayed in the vehicle and used its own power while first using a snatch block to double the line pull of the winch, if that failed then use MULTIPLE vehicles to pull out at the same time. Why use one when there were many available.

  • Comment removed

  • The adventures of Frank and Tommy. Subscribed!

  • My god It makes me sick to know there are people this stupid out there...

  • Thick as shit Northerners

  • Standing around a winch pulling on a heavy load is not smart.

Then, putting a shackle between the tow straps? I was waiting for someone to be killed.

Amazing, two fatal mistakes and know body dies!

  • @icicicles

Three, never EVER tow/winch from a tow ball, if it slips of you have a deadly flying projectile!

  • dick are available in other nationalities.....understatement and use of irony ..lost on many folk on here

  • well done

  • ever heard of digging?

  • @Posseser9997 Ill buy the shovel, you dig.......twonk!!!

  • I hope you dont take this the wrong way... But this is one stupid group of people...

  • Even worse, Youtube's captioning decided the lads were talking in Japanese! Oops!

  • wow.......

  • What a bunch of dicks

  • You guys are a bunch of idiots. You're asking for someone to get killed or seriously injured.

  • Do britts not know what a tandem pull is?

    \

  • @masey22 Or even a bloody snatch block lol.

  • Also, NEVER put a heavy STEEL SHACKLE on it, because when the rope snaps, it's like a HUGE POWERFUL CATAPULT with a steel projectile! You would be fucked if that came through your back window!

  • get a thicker steel cable, or a safety chain, one that has a label that it's tested! You have those for years! Things they use to pull out tractors or trucks! Did you see that bleu rope?! Did you see what a tiny hook or shackle that's on there!? lol! hahaha!!

  • WTF?! NEVER EVER stand that close to a cable with that much tension on it!!!

You guys have no idea what a power is on that cable when it snaps!! You wouldn't be the first one that lost a limb, or even dies when it snaps! Suicide amateurs!!

  • Except the shoulda used chain

  • They did fine

  • Fucking idiots

  • there lucky it snapped at the winch

  • there is nothing, nothing that those guys did right except pulling in the right direction.

  • that is some crazy mud

  • can anyone tell me what size this landrover discoverys axles are ? how strong are they ??

  • You wanna see professional recovery? Search BSF Recovery

  • I wouldve pulled that shitbox easily in my American 4x4 Chevy 2500HD.

  • @PeteB3r and probably busted your tie rods in the process, hillbilly.

  • scary

  • Americans please take the title of this video in the spirit it was meant. With a small degree of irony. These Gentlemen in the aforementioned video are Northern Monkeys, look them up, educate yourselves in there culture. They are humorous folk, and the title reflects this. Chill me old muckers!

  • Just leave this shit to us Americans.

  • i cannot believe that a group of grown men can be so fricken stupid. the list of things wrong with this is huge

There was a guy on Moreton Island many years ago who snatched a car off the tow ball, the tow ball was rusty, broke and went through the back of his head, killed him instantly. snatch straps a awesome pieces of gear when used right, but get it wrong and it WILL be fatal.

  • @TheAndy2612 there was a guy who was having a shit and a swarm of wasps killed him......!! So what does it me!! Dont shit??

  • @TheBigrodger LOL!! Good one mate!

  • The kinetic rope seems as elastic as their accent. This highly trained and extremely lucky (un)professionals, are they speaking Esperanto? I really feel that understanding them doesn't actually come overnight.

  • u know what after watching this video i am truly proud to be an american.

  • AWFUL!!!

    1) Don't use shackles to connect straps!

    2) Don't use tow-hook exept traction!

    3) Don't stand in area of reaching!

  • These guys are dumb as all hell. There isn't much else they can do wrong.

    1. Start the vehicle that is using the winch instead of using a battery booster

    2. Get in the stuck vehicle and put it in reverse from the BEGINNING

    3. Don't hit it with a running start, GET A CAPABLE VEHICLE to pull it out

    4. GET AWAY FROM THE CABLE YOU MORONS

  • @dizturbedone you have manage to list 4 things that shows uve never been off road!!

    1. No winch will pull that out with, extra an battery or engine screaming

    2. That vehicle is stuck, real stuck reversing would do nothing to help at all!!!

    3. The kinetic snatch rope is designed to be hit with a running start!! No vehicle there is capable of pulling it out with out a snatch, i doubts there is one within a hundred miles. Ur looking tanks and helicopters to pull that out!

  • @TheBigrodger

You've simply shown YOU have never been off-road sir.

If they would have put it in reverse, with the winch vehicle started instead of the winch suffering from the horrible current draw that it was (you can hear it in the video), and pulled with the winch properly... They probably could have gotten it out. Also, THAT IS NOT A KINETIC ROPE. My 76 GMC Jimmy with a 400 sbc, th350, np205, 35" M/T's and a 5" lift would've pulled that out EASILY. It's a pretty average build out here.

  • @dizturbedone

HAHAHA the only thing u got right in that paragraph of shite is that you called me sir!!!

I can assure I have been off road. I dont tootle round on a grass covered field at 15mph in some shitty jimmy, i smash the hell out of heavily modified landrover defender (send e-mail and ill pass on pictures), on quarries, in forests doing jumps at high speed.I know with with absolute certainty your ltttle jimmy would not pull that out!! Not it in a 10000000 years!! You sir have no idea!!

  • @TheBigrodger Your ignorance of vehicles and this hobby is astounding. My Jimmy is FAR from "little". Your Land Rover is little actually, and weak in comparison. This isn't a tiny Jimmy that you are used to seeing in the U.K. (the home of tiny vehicles). It is a 4500 lb, 1-ton axle machine with a 400 cubic inch motor and an NP205 T-case commonly found in military Hummers (not a street Hummer). It sits on 35 inch Mud Terrains, and would pull your Land Rover around like a stick in the mud.

  • Ever heard of a "no people" zone? You're so lucky the winch line didn't snap or you'd be getting through life on wheels instead of legs. Thank god for natural selection.

  • You have got to shittin me. What is this, death wish camp? Incidentally, if you're going to film this stupidity, at least do it like you've used a camera before. My 10 year old could do better camera work.

  • If this had happened at our off-road site you would be thrown off and banned for life. You are a disgrace to real off-roaders and you have the nerve to post it on the web.

  • and this is a grade A example of why mud ridin is left to americans, preferably southerners, but americans only. fuckin british are plain out retarded lol.

  • I GOT MY SJ STUCK IN THE SAME PLACE YEARS AGO 2 DEFENDERS AND 1 DISCOVERY TO GET IT OUT LOL

  • Fucking idiots.

  • OMG NooB skills

  • these guys are total GOOFS!!!!!!!!

  • well idk about yall but we have these things there call SHOVELS if ya cant get it with a couple tugs start diggin and we have chains they are one hell of alot harder to snap and the recoil is way less if they do, come on now stop giving offroaders the dumb redneck name

  • ..... nice:

Double batteries to exceed the winch pull limit

    Standing directly next to winch

doing more than 2-3 pulls in a row with a kinetic rope

wrapped the rope around the tow ball...

All I can say is everyone is freaking lucky

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU RATHER HAVE MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACK

  • Nice ... flying shackle genius idea

  • sorry boys but every thing you guys did was done the wrong way.... very dangerous and you are VERY LUCKY someone wan't killed or very badly hurt during this

  • I hope to God not everyone in the U.K. is like this.. These kids are just plain stupid..

  • All that kit - and no snatch block ? Oh dear.

  • This cant be just a alcohol related problem , somebody's parents must have had the same last name BEFORE they married

  • @anchordrift1 straight over the top of your head. Shame really, just let it go! Chill ya beans!

  • I don't want to sound judgemental or as ignorant as some of the comments but your description says "This is how we recover our stuck 4x4s here in the UK" Well do me a favour and change the wording cos that's how NOT to do it and I don't know anyone else in the UK who does it that way either

  • crazy??

  • I somehow doubt these lads have learned from their mistakes.

  • Lots of well seasoned off roaders leaving comments. Agreed it may have been dangerous but think what your writing before you write it! Do you have to swear like retards yourself or are you all just thick?and don't know many words. Guess I will find out soon!

  • fucking idiots

  • fucking dumb asses if u dont no how to mud bog dont fucking do it and if u dont no how to pull it out then dont fucking do it bc u could kill someone

  • if you had used the 2 discovery on tandem, job done in 10 minutes.

  • What a bunch of fucking retarded wankers. Go fuck yourselves you stupid fucking twats.

  • i don't think it is funny when you put so many peoples lives in danger and also over stress your chassis

  • this is not professional at all, no blanket to cover the energy of the rope, somebody will get hurt or killed with you goons

  • KUDOS! to the guy willing to help a stranger out!!!

  • where was that

  • Comment removed

  • That defender is proper stuck!! Thats basically sinking sand, you can tell by its rubber like properties. Its down to its axles and under carriage. No text book half arsed winching, gentle be careful dont scratch my paint work on my landy tow roping would of moved it an inch. All these nonces that wright stupid comments on here like ur going to damage ur car,or stupid driver doesnt know how to drive, have never been off road or they go to a club were some 16yo boy tells u off if u go over 5mph

  • clowns

  • you bunch of absolute retards you dickheads have no idea on 4WD'n ABSOLUTE BUNCH OF IDIOTS!

  • @d0wnundagunja how would you of got it out?? expert!

  • @TheBigrodger Ive got a 17,000lb winch on my GQ patrol. Would of tied off my patrol to another car at the top of that hill and winched the sunken mess out. common sence goes ALONG way when it comes to 4WD'n.

  • @d0wnundagunja Conmen sense, good idea, ill fly over a 5ton GQ from the states, fit a 17000lb winch on it and try that next time some one gets stuck. Barring in mind that kinetic snatch was probably exceeding ten 10 ton of pull in a hammer action. The 17000lb winch would pull the GQ in the mud what u going to do bury it. Common sense idea that would actually work, get a Chinook helicopter and pull it out the mud. Common sense go a long way in 4x4 doesnt it. Not very realistic though is it.

  • Darwins theory in practice

  • He was about 3 more pulls away from having a towball fly through his back window and possibly his head.

  • WOOOOW.....that was one of the most dangerous displays of off road recovery I've ever seen

  • Kinetic rope my arse, these were plain recovery straps, and the one that snapped was clearly not man enough for the job, they are not designed for snatch recovery, you want to invest in some proper kit, before you injure someone.

  • @MrHarleyoldfart yeh u can tell its NOT a kinetic rope because of the way it bounces cant you, because thats what normal tow ropes do. You would know because u always but the proper kit, except ur obviously into flower ranging not 4x4in because u dont know what ur talking about

  • Holy crap that was the biggest bunch of wrong moves

I love the cheap chinease tow strap, when people offer me those I just snap em to save them the agony, then I use a real strap, 50000 no less for this type of recovery

plus the disco just lost 10Kmiles off its tranny

    what a bunch of I. D. I. O. T. S.

you guys should stick to little toys like tonkas

  • Erm.... I'm assuming that you are being sarcastic with your blurb and title??

Those guys have got to be the biggest load of idiots I have ever seen.

If the winch had snapped at the other end, the bloke standing near the disco would have lost his legs. And yet, the idiots are still standing too close during a snatch recovery. MORONS!

  • @gingaloon86 I think it's safe to say that he is being sarcastic.

  • What can I say. There was NO KINETIC ROPE in use there. A nylon strop is NOT kinetic. I think the Darwin award will not be long in being awarded to you thick, ignorant twats.

It's people like you that make me ashamed to be a Land Rover owner and off road driver.

Hope you've got good life insurance and a will written out.

  • @eatcs01 So your saying the recovery at the end wasnt with a kinetic snatch rope. Darwin award goes to the nob head who doesnt know what hes talking about me thinks.

The kinetic snatch was designed by the army to recovery seriously stuck vehicles in battle field situations. Let me sum that up, thats recovering tanks when bullets are zipping past ur head. Just as the landrover was designed for seriese off road applications not for taking the kids to school which is what u prob use it for.

  • @eatcs01 Dude are you blind but thats not a nylon strap!!!

  • @eatcs01

THE WHITE STRAP IS A KINETIC STRAP BUT I AGREE BEDLY USED

  • @eatcs01 You sir Haven't a clue! It is a type of Kinetic Rope or Snatch Strap!

If it was a pure nylon strap like those of winch extentions it would not stretch!

Just kills me 22 people agreed showing they dont know anything!

    Lol

  • This is absolutely the dumbest thing i have seen in a while. wow. you guys are all lucky

  • Amateurs, why not connect 2 cars

  • Amateurs

  • The blurb for this video reads...

"This is how we recover our stuck 4x4's here in the U.K.

These highly trained professionals are experts in the field of vehicle recovery, their knowledge and equipment is second to none... blah blah blah

    You are kidding right?

You clearly have NO idea of what you are doing...... how about joining a proper 4WD club, or at least get some accredited training before you kill someone!

  • @sLowBrian I bet ur selling accreditation arnt you. Go on brian how would you have recovered that car, or would i have to pay for 10 lessons in bullshit first!

  • @TheBigrodger No... I don't sell accreditation, but I do belong to a 4WD club and I know enough to NOT put peoples lives at risk. People have died doing recoveries like this video.... died! That... BigRodger... is a fact! An UNDENIABLE fact! No car, no matter how fast is sinking, is worth someones life. If you think it is, then you are as big a fool as your comments suggest. If you don't agree, too bad, I don't listen to idiots. Have a read of all the other replies.... is everyone wrong???

  • @sLowBrian granted this recovery was a bit dangerous. Too many people were involved. The camera man did tell um to move back, they chose not too, thats there choice, its dangours but so is offroading.Look at motocross bikes flying through the skys u dont say, "wow how stupid he doesnt know what hes doing he should keep his wheels on the ground" To limit the dangour u have to get marshals, put speed limits, stop free movement and charge people to use it,pretty much like using the road, not fun!!

  • fuck for dumb ai mate!!!!!!

  • where is the professionals?

  • Fucking Wankers... They didnt have a clue what they were doing. The whole recovery was wrong.

  • Stupid Wankers...lol

  • scary as hell

  • every. single. thing. about. this. video. is. wrong.

  • It must have been Naturday!

  • I dont even know where to start... there is so much wrong with this it's not even funny...

I cant believe that you folks havent killed someone yet. First off, never pull from a tow ball. Two, that winch cable had no dampener, three, never use cheap straps, four, never add a clevis between to straps.

Lastly, NEVER EVER let anyone stand inside the radius of your cable or strap. 20ft strap means a safe radius of NO LESS than 20ft. You're all lucky to be alive, I guess Darwin was off a bit...

  • Guy behind the camera is a fucking asshole.

  • @Znitso But that's not you behind the camera...I'm confused.

  • Comment removed

  • Very disappointed... When I read "very professional" I thought that it was real, but, these guys are not experts at all. First thing is how the put together two recovery straps, then you never use the ball from the hitch for recovery. And, "their knowledge and equipment is second to none" well, I am not so sure about it..

  • What a bunch of idiots. its amazing nobody got hurt. How can 4WDriving be legal in the UK when u idiots do things like that. I'm glad that most Aussies have decent 4Wdrives with decent recovery techniques and safety procedures. There is nothing funny about a recovery, until its over, because the dangers to both spectators and anybody involved is to high!

kinggoldfish68 its scary to watch, to think that idiots somewhere are doing that.

  • You guys are stupid, recovery on toe ball's. You got to give them snatch straps a 5 min break between pull's to allow them to contract a bit before pulling again you dicks. pomp's eh.

  • holy crap, you guys are total wankers

there were so many mistakes made here it was more like a lesson in what not to do!

youre right, you dont acquire these skills overnight. it takes years to become completely stupid

  • Still good to watch

  • Great video Guys! Those ropes are scary!

  • That's no experts!

Using a towball as recovery point?

    You guys are crazy...

  • get some better tires or something. that Rangie was loosing traction bad.

  • English versions of the lesser redneck.

  • Comment removed

  • This is the WRONG way to do it.

  • ever heard of a winch blanket?? luckey noone was killed

  • Get a decent length snatch strap, connect it to a load rated recovery hook(not the towball) and have a good distance of run up with the recovery vehicle.

    Sheesh.

  • buy a dodge=problem solved

  • Christ my head hurts, hold the camera still lol

  • Comment removed

  • Those arent kinetic ropes, and even if they were you cant use 2 connected together.

  • On a hitchball no less why aren't you lot all dead!

  • *facepalm*

  • Idiots

  • @cuda2266 You sure you're not just ridiculous folk? Cause you sound like you hail from ridiculous-shire.

  • So they connected a snatch and tow strap together? genius.

  • VERY DANGEROUS Clowns.

    Never Snatch off a towball.

Never connect two straps with hardware.

    Idiots

  • next time two part the cable obviously your over loading the wench

  • I would have left the hunk of junk in the mud

  • So much for proffesionals: 1, You Never use a snatch strap on a tow ball. 2, You never use a shackle to join straps. 3, You dont attempt recovery with bystanders around the vehicles. 4 The recovered vehicle should have his wheels spinning just to mention a few!!!

  • I could barely watch. I was expecting to see someones head taken clean off. And all the while these guys are laughing and not realising how fucking dangerous that was.

  • Where were the 'professionals'?

  • <
