The worst part about the possibility of an actraiser 3 is that with it being Square-Enix now they'll probably make the master a fruity little girly boy instead of a fucking GOD OF MEN like we see here.
It was hard to come up with a truly great ending to this game...Why? Because the ending to this game would have been like Actraiser's ending, which they already did. This ending sort of reminds me of the ending of "Soul Blazer" because it talks about different people around the world. Just like the ending part with the sunset in "Soul Blazer." Are you there God? It' s me. This series needs a new game added to it. Just like the coming of the Son of Man only you know the time of it's arrival
I think the next installment ought to be counter-thematic. Picture the end times, all the good folks have been raptured, the first of the seal plagues are decending, and the anti-christ is quickly consolodating his power, but not without supernatural aid. You, the second-chiefest of fallen angels are responsible to fight his unseen enemies, maintain the fallenness of the world and help unite New Babylon against the 144,000 and those who watch over them, until the second coming...
@rat4cooler I really like your idea!!! At first when you talked about people being raptured, I was like...ehh, okay. But as I kept reading it got better and better! I heard the creator of Actraiser, who's now with Square Enix, is somewhat interested in reviving this series, but he doesn't have a lot of pull in the company now...so it might never happen. It's a bitch...
Yes, unfortunately it is all politics. I think a PSP or DS release would be good since it should retain its platformer style.
They should do something like they did with Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles for PSP, and make an all-new game that takes place where Satan terrorises the modern age.
I think it should be a game about preventing a premature fulfilling of the prophecy rather than of one of the actual end times.
I wish Square-Enix will revive Actraiser by either giving the Wii a prequel or sequel, but up the graphics while retaining the 2D gameplay. I would like to see The Master back in action!
Eh, tbh i like the ending. Although it is very simple and plain, it's really emotive how only a stone statue fading over the years was all that remained of the "master" that once descended from the heavens and walked among the mortals saving the world from the evil.
Great Game, hard as crap, beat it back on the original SNES in the 90s. Unfortunately theres not much of a payoff, coolest part is the statue aging over time...not really worth all that hardship. Actraiser 1 was amazing, play it if you haven't!
right before i warp down to the ground when it does that spiral thingy it freezes when im up in sky. i tried new rom, different emulator and it still does it.....why
Congrats on beating one of the SNES's toughest titles. I managed to beat this too, after many, many months of intense gaming till the late hours of the night, but it's Earthworm Jim's submarine level that will forever remain my undoing.
Yep. Great work dude, really. I also finished this game when i was very young ( i was 8 or 9 years old) I were playing whole my vacations (2 months). Now i am 19, and i can speak english, maybe not good but something i can, but when i were playing with act raiser 2 i didn`t anything :)
And yes, this game is ultra-uber-pro-super-hyper-deluxe difficult. As far as i remember for me the most hard level was the Palace, there was something like a labirynth or something and it was twice. Covered ice and not.
In some respects, the last boss fight is kind of like something you would see if you ever read Dante's Inferno. Satan (Tanzra) frozen in Ice:3 Hell must be really cold :S
Actraiser 3? No thank you. They would fuck it up. Bet me money.

I agree...the ending of Act Raiser really gave me something to think about...
Back then...it was just a "Congrats Champion" ending.

my brother beat this on hard back in the day, I remember watching him slam the controller down in frustration at times.

Yet it is not worth all the effort you spent playing the game, this ending is one of the most shocking video game endings ever

But a peaceful world that doesn't need the Master is exactly what you were fighting for.
I think Actraiser's morality was just higher than a lot of kids expected from a cool action game.

For the life of me, I could never even beat the first stage of Act Raisers 2. The first I could beat, but not the second. Good job, dude!
