Alright so I was looking at these comments and you people need to relax about simon. Queer as Folk is a show, not every gay guy has a six pack abs and a perfect boyfriend and a life full of drama and excitement. It's a show, the character justin doesn't exist, and so what if Randy is dating some guy that doesn't have the six pack and the perfect face.. It's reality, looks aren't everything for everyone.. Yes it can be for many of us, but love can be more then just looks.

My guess is when Randy first met Simon, he was still young and inexperienced, maybe he was attracted by some intelligence or wit from Simon. Randy at that time was not that confident enough for his own artistic talent and potential, so that's natural he was infatuated by someone who is older and sophisticated than him.

@monaemiyoko Gay actor portraying a gay role, and having to act opposite Gale Harold? Of course you would develop a crush. On a deeper level, I think with as many as intimate and emotional moving scenes as Justin and Brian have throughout the years on the show, I think that translates somehow to a closeness in real life. That chemistry on camera often translates to chemistry off camera, maybe not in a sexual way, but certainly a bond of friendship and trust.

@monaemiyoko Well it probably DID happen because (what i have always been taught is that) in order to act well you have to have SOME connection or chemistry with your acting partner, and a lot of movies the lead characters end up dating in real life, or have fallen a little in love with the person they are acting with in order to make it believable... at least that is the way I feel. he probably didn't WANT the crush.. it just sort of happend due to close proximity. cause i wonderd the same lol
