@02TLtypes Vtec isn't some sort of safety net that helps your engine from being destroyed like a knock sensor dumbfuck. It's just electronic valve timing that allows for more power by allowing more air and fuel in the combustion chamber at high rpm while allowing great fuel economy at low rpm. the fact is that there's a pretty big difference between manual and automatic TL...i own a 04 TL a-spec 6 spd manaul, and no maxima or altima stands a chance, sorry but that's the true....VQ may be a good engine but it has no top end....sorry for the maxima guys but quite honestly the TL is a better car from absolutely evey aspect....

@sergeevspredator just got tired of it.. it's a pretty comfortable car and a blast to drive.. hell even my friends 08 automatic is fun not a type s though.. now my 350 was better on gas but thats mainly because it weighed a few hundred pounds less.. but honestly my maxima is the favorite outta all of them thats why i feel have it.. fits my girl and my baby perfectly and it's more family friendly but has more than enough power to make it fun on the weekends even before i got boosted :)

are you serious? I use to own a Maxima and I use to kill any Acura that wanted a piece of my beast.. Now I have a 96 Supra this is my baby. I wouldn't EVER give this car up for the world... I eat Acura's up with my Supra all that as well... The Integra's are the ones always pulling up next to me, same with the Civic Si's quick kill for me..

I didn't know the 03' Maxima can trap over 101 mph in the 1/4 mile stock? Because that's what the 6 speed Type-S does. I thought the 02-03' Maxima 6spd runs like 96-97 mph in the 1/4? I'm just going by the stupid magazine numbers, that's why I only listed the mph. They suck at driving most of the time, but the mph is a strong indicator of the cars power. Those maxima's are still very quick though... I test drove a couple of them back in 02' I was impressed.
the se-R has a 260 horsepower while the stock 04 maxima has 265, even the fastest altima can't touch the maxi, and camry will lose to a maxima..point blank

the 2009+ Maxima = 290HP, idk about 0-60 but I doubt it's much better than the Camry. But Camry and Maxima aren't even in the same class so not a completely fair comparison.

And Iron block has unlimited upgrades and that my friend is what the Supra has. that's pretty smart, putting a twin turbo in a civic thats not even worth1/20 of the Turbo's..You're under estimating the Supra.
So the TL is already a car length ahead at the start then cuts in front of the Max. In hindsight, I like TL's, fortunately since I'm boost I own them all day long... :-)

Tl's are easy kills.. No comparison with a Maxima. I use to kill Tl's with my 08 Maxima.. My cousin Chino use to get smoked all day when I lived in Ct with his BLack Tl.. We would hit the strip from Waterbury to Norwalk and i would fry the living life out of his TL he had to bleep me to see where I was LMfao. The cars I had trouble with were the WRX STI'S Cobra's, I got fried by a Z06 and Supras before I owned are just nuts in speed.. I got smoked by them too... Now i am Supra.

huh??!!! The 09 TL is one of the ugliest cars I ever seen, design doesnt flow at all...epic fail. Also the 09 Tl weighs over 4000lbs with the SH-AWD!!! The 0-60 time is well over 6 sec.....however the 09maxima does do 0-60 in 5.9sec

I think the 1998 maxima looked better! however, the 2009 maxima looks AMAZING. So yes, I do like the new maxima. the fact is that there's a pretty big difference between manual and automatic TL...i own a 04 TL a-spec 6 spd manaul, and no maxima or altima stands a chance, sorry but that's the true....VQ may be a good engine but it has no top end....sorry for the maxima guys but quite honestly the TL is a better car from absolutely evey aspect....

@sergeevspredator 3 gen type s, 6 speed. got it in 2007 when the type s released.. had mine on early order as a self b-day present.. 2005 fairlady z 6 speed.. and 2003 maxima se-r titanium edition <--won't ever see many of these around, i own one of 300 in the u.s.

@sergeevspredator just got tired of it.. it's a pretty comfortable car and a blast to drive.. hell even my friends 08 automatic is fun not a type s though.. now my 350 was better on gas but thats mainly because it weighed a few hundred pounds less.. but honestly my maxima is the favorite outta all of them thats why i feel have it.. fits my girl and my baby perfectly and it's more family friendly but has more than enough power to make it fun on the weekends even before i got boosted :)

I didn't know the 03' Maxima can trap over 101 mph in the 1/4 mile stock? Because that's what the 6 speed Type-S does. I thought the 02-03' Maxima 6spd runs like 96-97 mph in the 1/4? I'm just going by the stupid magazine numbers, that's why I only listed the mph. They suck at driving most of the time, but the mph is a strong indicator of the cars power. Those maxima's are still very quick though... I test drove a couple of them back in 02' I was impressed.

I own a 98 Supra adjusted to a single turbo with a greddy hook. and are you nuts comparing a Mr2 to a straight 6 3.0 liter animal like the Supra? you can build a Supra to kill anything.. The Mr2 has limits, just remember one thing amigo the Supra has an Iron block, built for stress. A Celica with more power then a Maxima? I really know you're crazy for that one... You have to put your whole lifes savings in a Celica to make it even get good quater times.

Tl's are easy kills.. No comparison with a Maxima. I use to kill Tl's with my 08 Maxima.. My cousin Chino use to get smoked all day when I lived in Ct with his BLack Tl.. We would hit the strip from Waterbury to Norwalk and i would fry the living life out of his TL he had to bleep me to see where I was LMfao. The cars I had trouble with were the WRX STI'S Cobra's, I got fried by a Z06 and Supras before I owned are just nuts in speed.. I got smoked by them too... Now i am Supra.

huh??!!! The 09 TL is one of the ugliest cars I ever seen, design doesnt flow at all...epic fail. Also the 09 Tl weighs over 4000lbs with the SH-AWD!!! The 0-60 time is well over 6 sec.....however the 09maxima does do 0-60 in 5.9sec

cvt-c, but that doesnt make the engine all out better. v-tec was ment to give engines more power at higher revs while still be very economical on gas at lower revs. if the v-tec engine still has less power then the cvt-c engine with the same displacement, it shows that v-tec isnt that great. so stop mentioning V-TEC every time you talk about a honda engine. BTW I love hondas and nissans.

I understand your point. Let's talk style though. let me be honest, it is the exterior styling of the maxima that bothers me more than anything. Particularly, the front. I think the 1998 maxima looked better! however, the 2009 maxima looks AMAZING. So yes, I do like the new maxima. I would probably have bought a 2005 Maxima instead of a TL because its cheaper...but only if the front wasnt so ugly.

i've seen numerous times TL beating Gs, Gs beating TL, but Gs and Tl is not meant for racing, it's sports sedan. if u want pure racing, get NSX or skyline. And for those of you who says NSX suck, it's not. compare lap time. Also wait for the new NSX, you'll see

what does honda have? lol. well...the best hp/liter output in a stock engine(s2000), the best and most expensive engineering facility (look it up-yes, engineering not manufacturing), ALL hondas have a 5 star crash test rating, original nsx set benchmarch for midengine layout and design (google it), first natural gas car in production, first hydrogen powered car in production...what else you need? if your looking for a hemi- go somewhere else. lol
