  • tbh reloading takes a few seconds, not much longer than firing really

after all, only noobs spray full auto like sullivan said

  • @TheJGCSRT8 Same way, into magazine well.

  • it can store 33 rounds of .458 SOCOM btw ...

  • where to get the cover?

  • It seems any problems solved by a 90 round magazine, it creates several more. Plus most retailers put the disclaimer that it should only be stored with 80 rounds :(

Nice attempt and kudos for making it more reliable than the C-Mag but why not clip two mags parallel together as that has been demonstrated to be very rapid to reload.

Rifles - unlike machine guns - are designed for accuracy and manoeuvrability over firepower. 80-90 rounds would be great but not if it's as cumbersome as an M249.

  • Clipping mags works but there's a time gap during reloading where there's no firing. The open end of the clipped mag could get dirty and jam the weapon when inserted. I don't think the 90 drum is anywhere near as clumbsy as the M249 LMG with 100 round pouch, why don't you TRY IT?

  • sir, with all do respect, how are you suppose to reload the 9 stripper clips while your on the move in close combat?

and how long does its take to reload it fully?

  • That's why we propose you START a mission with the drum and then go to smaller and easier to load magazines.

  • The M16 is an old design. The mwg90 is an aftermarket/afterthought magazine design to use with the M16. Until somebody design a weapon that comes with a high volume magazine, there would be no end to the critics.

  • And critics don't get the job done; reformers that see problems and enact SOLUTIONS do.

  • At least the Beta C has a good centre of gravity unlike this 90 round drum. It is to the side so my guess using it at full load would be awkward. By the way, I've loaded 100rd drums before, I was using the Ultimax 100 squad auto weapon while in the army

  • If the BETA mags JAM then there is no point in using them. Better a lop-sided 90-rounder drum THAT WORKS than a symmetrical BETA mag that is COMPLICATED and JAMS. 90 rounds that FIRE beats 100 rounds that don't even load.

  • Whose army? Singapore? The Ultimax is a seriously nice piece of kit.

  • i dunno what you guys think but if i was gonna use that in battle id use the "pouchet" to hold an extra mag.(i don't think youd want to reload mags during a fire fight)

when the nintey rounds are emptied you would open the pouch (while its upside down) and slip the mag out. then drop the drum to be caught by the dummy cord and slap in the new mag. with a little practice it could be a pretty fast movement. anybody got an opinion?

  • Are these more reliable then the C-mags?

  • Yes. They are simpler and less moving parts to go wrong.

  • are you preparing for WW3 with these?

  • If at the small-unit level, we can dominate the beginnings of firefights and we can smother sub-national conflicts with walls and border fences then there doesn't have to be a WW3 caused by internal violence that got out of control.

  • whats the difference between this and the C-Mag?

  • The C-MAG splits the ammo supply into two drums adding complexity and the MWG sticks to one drum and a larger size in exchange for simplicity...

  • Oh, thanks. I'd rather have a "Shrike" though, you can youtube it if you want. It fires magzines, C-MAG, 100 round soft pouches for the SAW, 200 round box magazines for the SAW. Me, you and BlackTailFA (Mabe nomorenarrsism) should be Generals in the Military, and I'm only 14! We would the greatest!

  • the army lets you guys use thos? awesome, lol!

  • No, we want RIFLEMEN to have 90 rounds of firepower to start a firepower and not have to change mags for this initial, win/lose/draw time. The U.S. military doesn't have a LMG that fires a drum in service; the Jim Sullivan Ultimax should replace the M249 ASAP and a reliable drum for it and the M16/M4s determined and fielded.

  • Where did you get the Masada music? Haven't heard it in years, but I knew it the second I heard it. Don't know why it never came to DVD. Anyway, the MWG drum is a nice device, but the reciver is plastic, which means it won't have a great lifespan. Looks like a nice tool.

  • I'm not too keen on the idea of switching entirely over to drum magazines, but one drum per rifleman would be a damn useful force multiplier.

  • Concur that has been the justified sticking point even with a working drum and why we went with the one-drum-to-start-the-firefight-then-clip-to-your-LBE concept.
