Aaron, I've been enjoying these tutorials, just because I always loved your robots and am having a great time just keeping up with what you're up to nowadays. Keep 'em coming!
excellent stuff, looking forward to placing order next week (i work offshore). is there a private channel to post our designs & finished kits? do you become a member when a order is placed-for tech support, advice etc. can't wait to get started.
I plan to post the best videos you send me right here on this channel. I will establish a second channel to post shows on for the runner up shows. A runner up show might be one that could use better editing, or lighting. So keep in mind the "watchability" of your production and it will be published right here for thousands of subscribers to enjoy.
Yes, you become a member for all services just by purchasing a kit.
In our "follow along with Kerry" video, you just install the socket with the keyway facing the same direction as she installs it. It doesn't hurt anything if you put it in the other way around, but it is better just to put it in the same position as we do so that when you are wiring it up (Chapter 5 of the DVD) you can count the pins the same way we do to connect your components.
Looks great... plan on ordering one for me soon! But I'm curious. How in-depth are you going to discuss more advanced controls like eyes and such. Are you going to touch on these at all, or will I be able to take what you go over in these first steps and be able to easily apply it to other applications?
I'm going to delve into all kinds of concepts, ideas and such in new videos and additional released information for a long time to come. The buyers of the kit will be getting this information. For example, drawings of head frames with eye mechanisms will be made available to kit owners. We will have discussions about increasing the control capabilities, show ideas, mechanisims, and, eventually, discuss and experiment with servos and other devices. This kit is a good starting point.
