Like we really need another hardware recorder. FAIL....For the amount of cash you spend on this(maybe a little more),you could buy a computer and have 10x's the the power this toy has.
@cast390 and!? what's your point? why trying to compare mobile field recorder to desktop computer? I think you just don't know what are you talkin about...
@cast390 pc's designed for recording multitrack audio don't cost less than a thousand bucks. You can buy a cheap pc but then you'll have to upgrade the soundcard, one that has 6 inputs like this Tascam has, install an extra HDD add more RAM. Then you'll have to deal with the latency issues, driver/software problems and the other stuff that go with recording on a pc. Anyway this is primarily a field recorder which means you can put it in a bag and record stuff anywhere. Try that with a pc.
@cast390 a computer is a jack of all trades ,but the Tascam is a master of one,as for walking about with a laptop and an audio interface and making it work for 8 hours without recharging well you will need a bloody big battery.
