  • it was kinda funny, but not really, the same joke was repeated over and over. funny the first time but lame the second

  • I love Bob Dylan

<3 but Hugh does do it right when Dylan trails off.

Half the time i can't hear the last words to Dylan's verses.

  • Sounds nothing like him.

  • The music is right, but the voice is off.

  • oh i forgot that you're of course the dylan expert. i'm not gonna hold this conversation with you any longer beacause i don't want to get down to your anal humour. good bye

  • it's not the sounding you moron! it's the way he always mumbles the "answer". i guess you are too dumb for this kind of humor.

  • wow he can sing

  • I know "House" is supposed to be a great show...Im sure it is. However I cant enjoy Hugh playing it straight. To me he will always be best as a comedian as in these old clips or the stupid Prince Regent from Blackadder!

  • Other good/funny impressions:

    "Weird Al" Yankovic:

    v=Nej4xJe4Tdg

John C. Reilly (from the movie Walk Hard):

    v=9u5x9pdInTU

    Dear Mr. President

    v=wMPmimxDTsQ

Let me hold you little man

  • best impression ever xD hugh laurie rocks!!!

  • such great comic timing with those facial expressions!!!

  • Is good. Love Laurie, and Dylan. Good mix :)

  • lol.... you know that show "house"..... that's hugh laurie :) this is a comedy impression.... go diss on Berny Mac or something

  • holy hell Hugh is crazy! In the best possible way, Ive always said...lol

    :-P

  • Hes talking about doin' the naughty..

  • omg....he's charming,,

  • Dr.House does dylan....

  • take a load off it hugh

  • talented guy :D

  • Its simple xxxxxxxxxxxx

  • He sings even better here than on Jeeves and Wooster!

Seriously, Hugh's got some serious talent.

  • Hey I LOVE Boy Dylan too, but he never once made me laugh. Very funny, Hugh.

  • if you are in front of him when he's singing, you may laugh......sometimes!!!! (memories of a show in Dijon- France)

  • this is not funny at all. bob dylan is class, why is this the 2nd thing that comes up when you type in bob dylan into youtube???

  • House! ;>

  • but he sings so much better than dylan...lol

  • Haha..this is funny! Good music, funny lyrics, hilarious singing and well acted!

  • Palhaço.

  • it WAS funny as much as dylan is a massive artist, i dont think you see by stumbling those specific lines i think hes trying to say dylan always goes on about how people are poor and the government is rich etc and people should do something about it. but it isnt jsut a flippant as that hense he has no answer either

  • The part that gets me is how much better his singing is.

  • it was a funny spoof, but he needs to be more nasal and talk instead of sing to be dylan.

it was a good protest song spoof tho, dont get me wrong

  • Hugh Laurie is soooooo musically talented then & now pre- and post-House. This impression/"protest song" cracks me up (and i love Bob Dylan and now his son Jakob Dylan). Just sooooo funny for the times. Jeeves & Wooster live on forever.

  • i guess this is called a bob dylan spoof because he has a guitar and a harmonica?

  • Not a very good impression of Dylan because you can hear what he's singing and he's occasionally in tune.

  • I can see where he is coming from -= but I love Bob Dylan's music.

  • lol 1,000xs

  • i wish i could mock the greatest artist in the world.....

  • good news, you can!

just grow a sense of humour and stop putting people on fucking pedestals.

  • yeah but its like hes trying to make fun of that and the lyrics what is wrong with his lyrics ..i just dident find it funny

  • A cantankerous doctor impersonating a cantankerous singer....lol

  • Or an "actor", as they're known in the trade.

  • this was long before house

  • Mr. Little... hahahhaha...

  • Wasn't funny but he did a great job.

  • sounds like lilian gish to me.

  • HOUSE!!!!

  • LRC in the hay-ows!

  • Actually in America the poor keep getting fatter.

  • yeah cuz there's a mcdonalds and kfc at every corner in the low income places

  • Yes, because the rich can afford Lypo.

  • Who came here from lewrockwell-dot-com?

  • guilty

  • That's how I got here.

  • I have.

  • I wasn't getting upset about it! In fact, knowing Fry & Laurie, they would deliberately make a 'nod' in the direction of Dylan/The Band - that's why it is funny on a number of levels.

You can't beat the original - especially the collaboration with the Staples Singers!

  • At the risk of turning this into a pantomime: oh yes it did - look at some of the earlier comments by British contributors.

  • so cute expression!!!kawai!!!XD

  • It's totally identical to The Weight.

  • Hugh is Just ONE BRILLIANT GUY,HUMORIST,LINGUIST,ACTOR,.ETC..what else does he do well??? wow

  • it's not a bob dylan impression it's just a funny skit

  • are u a rhhhhutard

ofcourse its a bob dylan impersonation

  • nah not a rhhhhutard bud. he's makin fun of the types of music and bands that dylan inspired. dont mind disagreeing with you. take care.

  • u obviously have never seen him perform like that live then?

oh and i doubt the bbc is wrong

  • " ...all we gotta do is... eanomljedlasdhuecmo"

    puahahahaha... fackin awwsome

  • hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • all we gotta do is ..ehermnsa...

  • Thanks for telling us it's hilarious. I would never have known otherwise.

Anyway, sounds more like Neil Young to me.

  • LOL

    Thx

  • i have the same guitar! Yamaha RULEZ!

  • lol all the yanks think he's american :P lol

  • I thought that until is became addicted to Black Adder :P

  • it's because his accent is so ridiculously accurate

  • I was never a Hugh Laurie fan untill I saw "House". And to be honest for 5 years I ignored the show House because I thought it was gonna be stupid. Well sitting home one night I caught the show on syndication and I've been hooked ever since. Now it is one of my favs. I remember seeing the commercials for House and thinking his Name House was some play on words like he was an hotel doctor so I said "this is dumb". I will never judge a show before watching it again.

  • the same :-)

  • haaaaa i love it when americans find out Hugh Laurie is english

thats how great of a actor he really is

  • an*

  • fully agree, his american accent is flawless, and his english comedy is absolutely hilarious, thanks for sharing his talents!

  • SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE PAL ..... love you sweetheart pig sweat on my body

  • Hey what?? He's been at Black Adder? And like whom did he play??

  • he was in the 3rd and 4th series

  • He was the prince in... I think the third series of Black Adder

  • And luitenant George in Black Adder Goes Forth

  • Aha.... :D Thank you, I knew Black Adder much sooner than Dr.House (which of course made him famous much more) was released. And I really do not understand, why I got "thumb down" for this.

  • Comment removed

  • Lol, Im a huge "house" fan so when I see this I imagine a cranky old man singing.

  • You should see him in Black Adder.

  • Have you seen what bob is doing next a christmas album, of him singing christmas carols it's four times as funny as this and it's ment to be serious /watch?v=gundu1yLjWY.

  • Hilarious

  • i think bob is great but this vid is funny!!!!

  • ószom. :D:D:D

  • Nice try, Dylan was for people with depth, with it's obvious you don't have.

Beatles rock, though, I'll give you that.

  • 009jono: don't be silly, you're soul is all the richer and deeper for a large dolloping of humour. Oh come on now, and give us a smile.... :0)

  • Man he is such an accomplished musician and actor.

  • Now that was a good impression- and good instrumental skills from Mr Laurie. I preferred him before American TV turned him all serious.

  • I really want to show some Americans Blackadder or Jeeves and Wooster etc

  • Ooooh yes please. That would show some ignorant Yanks that he is one of us!

  • ha haaaah ha! lol!

  • Wow, so inspirational! And he's right.. that's just so easy, everyone can do it! :D

  • hilarious!!!!!

  • this just delivered

  • People are always looking to artists for the answers. When Hugh mumbled, thats where you insert your own answer. Really, only your own answer is perfect for you. He doesnt know how to cure the ills of the world anymore than anyone else. Im American and I LUV BRITIAN. Thank you crazy bastards for ALL the great entertainment over the years. Couldnt live without ya!

  • This whole thing seems to have become a Britain V US thing.

When will Americans understand we adore them? Though we may ask questions at times!

"Britain is punching above its weight"!

We have, always! The best of the world is shaped that way because of this nation.

America, is America because of that.

Visit my hostelry in the cotswold and find out!

  • Anyone who has seen Bob Dylan live will know just how true to life this impression is.

  • This wasn't made as an impression of Bob Dylan, rather of American college activist rock.

  • ROFL

  • What song?

  • Laurie is so Fing talented I love him.

    I'd go gay for him

  • All we got to do is... jkasdjfklasjfdalkdjfq... Perfect!

  • best actor ever

  • not to be pedantic but actually jeeves and wooster

  • This is great! When was this show on the BBC? He looks like a kid... heh

  • It was on air from 1987 - 1995.

  • 1980

  • immense talent. see him singin, see him as a doctor or in fry and laurie . evrywhere he's a gr8 entertainer

  • lmfaoooo LOVE IT!

  • The multi-talented Hugh Laurie is greatness

    .

I am Canadian by the way, and I have followed his career since his " Blackadder" and "Blackadder goes Forth" days. I enjoy "House" and " A bit of Fry and Laurie", but I think my favorite Hugh Laurie program was another series he did with Stephen Fry, in the early 90's it was called "Wooster and Jeeves"

  • I liked the voiceovers he did for those Pampers adverts.

    Sexy.

  • This must be from quite awhile ago he is so young!

  • Hugh would have been a fantastic Dr Who but maybe he was too talented for that

  • so sad to think that here in America they think he's just Dr. House...wow, I am ashamed of my preconceptions and of having missed so much of Hugh Laurie..Oh well, best catch up eh?

  • I live in England mate and only became familiar with him through House.

So we're in the same boat!

  • Not as ashamed as I am as a Briton of the fact that the bastard had to go to America to showcase his talents as a fully-fledged dramatic actor on House M.D..

We took him for granted as Bertie Wooster and The Bloody Prince Regent, when the guy is so much more than a comedian - and now we'll probably not get him back again.

I just hope Hollywood doesn't chew him up and spit him out again, but lets him do more than House, because he's starting to show signs of tedium on his interviews.

  • His roles in British comedy did seem somewhat one-dimentional- basically rich, naive and stupid.

  • This man is quite outrageously talented.

  • it sounds like the night they drove old dixie down by the band

  • Ooooh...

This man was born to be a comedian.

    ... and a rock-star!!

    XD

  • who has this song's lyrics ?

  • Hugh rocks in every role, whether musical, british or american tv !

  • Yea, how tragic for Hugh. To play a complex character in a well written drama with humor and depth. I see the youtube know-it-alls are alive and well. Yawn.

  • I was just thinking of something quite similar to post when I saw this, thanks for saving me the trouble. It always amazes me how someone "sells out" as soon as they are a success and watched by millions of people. The merit or quality of that show has NOTHING to do with it, if a lot of people watch it they sold out.

  • Yep everything I've see the man in has been gold.

  • British humor!

  • I .. don't...get..it......

  • Becuase...you're...not bright.

  • If you don't get this watch "open university blooper reel" by the same people.

  • MORON

  • i know you are, you said you are, but what am i?

  • So adorable!

Funny, but I wish they put a bit more effort into having more than one joke -.-

  • I don't think I ever knew he existed until "House". Guys got serious talent.

  • mate....you should check him out in Blackadder....season 3....it's on BBC DVD...one of the funniest shows ever made

  • hugh laurie = pure awesomeness

  • Ya,he is House :)

  • isnt he house

  • he sure is! XD

  • Love the yay he tosseled his hair! If it was longer... just maybe. He even kinda sounds like a real folk singer. Love Hugh Love Bob this is funny as anything!

What makes it funny is that earlier Bob sometimes didn't make it close enough to the mic and kinda muttered a little bit.

  • Hilarious!

  • Funny as Hell......we go to...ummmmmhmmm

  • robinson , Laurie, atkinson , best british comedians..!

  • How about Cleese, Palin, Chapman and Idle?

  • i just wrote my opinion friend

  • did i actually just watch an AD on youtube? fuck this.

  • tell us the answer !! :D

  • What song is this?

  • these guys are my favourites xD lol

  • I think it was supposed to be sarcastic

  • Come on lad don't go drrrrr......drrrrrrr.....tell us the answer...lol

  • lol funny

  • I like the song

  • wow he's realy good singer!!

  • At 0:47 you can see Hugh Laurie is having trouble stifling his smile. hahaha
