Billy the Awesome has even taken to introducing this song in concerts as "completely, historically, totally inaccurate", suggesting we're not the first ones to notice this...

the greatest part of this song is it showing Billy's expanding musical talent by incorporating the use of symphony instruments unlike his other songs. it almost has the classic "big band" sound to it with the horn section.
