Just awesome guys.....just put 11,000kms on mine in 40 days.....this bike is all about eating up miles and having alot of fun doing it.....awesome power!!!!!
I have a new C14 and I used to ride a 2005 FJR1300. There is NO comparison. The C14 stomps the FJR in ALL aspects, period. First hand experience talking here.
FJR 1300 Is a cool ride too...but... I don't get it when FJR guys get in to C14 forums and try to prove something.. I'm glad there is a first hand unbiased comment..
Recommendations to prospective buyers except 2010 model. You might need to replace the windshield with a taller one although it is electrical and get rid of the stock Bridgestones immediately.. IMHO .....
I pretty much bought mine based on youtube vids. They convinced me not to spend $2000 more for the Honda ST1300. Picked it up todqay and love it. I was scared at first but it's really easy to ride and comfortable.
Yeah, like I couldn't tell that the C14 motor would be powerful, or that low-speed handling would not be the best ... tell us what it's like to tour on. Oh, and it's pronounced kon'-kour. A French word, the "S" on the end is silent.
I hate their ridiculously unsupported reviews.. Now, they are praising the connie, months later, comparing the sport touring bikes, they will put her down...
@jibiuro me too I just said something similar. They say the same thing for every motorcycle. Good bike, let's you get on it, goes when you twist the throttle (hah that's one they say the most lol imagine a car review, the car goes when you put your foot on the gas pedal lol noway really? haha)
This would be a great police bike, but I have only seen the FJR and ST1300 in that area. Harleys do hold up to the abuse, that is why most innercity cops ride them. Highway patrol would benefit from one of these.

SORRYOCIFFER,
MOTOR vs. ENGINE.
I so damned glad someone besides myself knows the differene between a motor and an engine. If you refer to an engine as a motor, you're either (1.) A fucking "red-neck-hill-billy-NASCAR-beer-bellied-incest-victim" ... or (2) you're a fagot. Wait ... I guess you could be both.
The term was coined at a point in American history when the lexicon was markedly different from today's. The way it is used today by "experts" is patently incorrect and done out of habit. Motorcycle does roll off the tongue easier than enginecycle though. ;)
Motorcycles don't have MOTORS! They have ENGINES. MOTORS use electricity, engines use combustible fuel. Just once I wish these "knowledgeable" people who write or review for various shows or magazines would get it right...
See my reply to Bratcher71...How many electric "engines" have you ever seen? Why in print (in the U.S.) are engines called engines and not motors and vise versa? If I use a Grainger catalog and look up "motor" they show ELECTRIC powerplants. If I look up engines, they show GAS powerplants. It seems only the media or the ignorant still use the terms incorrectly. They still do commonly use MOTOR in Europe, that is because many words are used or accepted differently do to their history or culture.
why attack the guy? he has a point dude.. ( I don't understand where he is trying to get though )calm down and write back if you have something smart to say, otherwise don't label people..
Sorry for the defenders, but these guys suck at reviews. Absolutely no REAL info whatsoever. IE.. the new 14 apparently has some bad heat issues near the feet. No rider height info vs how comfortable the bike is. A lot of stuff can be answered in a short amount of the time.
Just because someone isn't good with words doesn't mean they are stupid. Look at many engineers; incredibly knowledgeable in their respective fields, but not always good at putting things into words.
Naw, but shoot, that'd be an awesome job. Jee, maybe if I had the job I could explain everything in very technical terms so that people like you might understand, but much of the target audience for this clip, people who are looking to purchase one of these machines but aren't quite as technically knowledgeable, won't get the gist of what is being said and not get the information they want.
Most people just want to know things like....which is more powerful....which handles better...which is lighter. You know, the information they bring up in this video. I guess you wanted them to go into how well the front brake rotor's vent, or why the OEM tire on the Kawasaki might have 2.583% better grip than the one on the Honda ST1300.
2000 Kawasaki Concours and 2001 ZR7 S .I know , not as comfy as your '85 Suzuki Cavalcade , but us poor folks must do what we can ! P.S. If you ever watched the old Motorcyclist show on Speed Channel you would know what top notch video motojournalism was about. Too bad it's now the All Nascar ,All The Time channel.
that's why being an engineer does not mean you should do a review... There is a bunch of engineers who can THINK and EXPLAIN properly.. I didn't see him talking about the main issues that C14 has. I own a C14 as well and I have seen better reviews by high school kids...Sorry, motorcycleUSA just sucks...
@sporttourer1 I know it really annoys me how almost every crappy motorcycle vid says those same exact things. They don't talk about much specifics to the bike like what the gauges have for features and design, storage space, engine features and advances, etc. It's always the same thing, "rides nice, fast, turns good. DUH lol
cool

OMG, this thing looks like a slug. Sure, great motor but dynamics suck. I would run a Guzzie Norge against it on any curves and kick butt.

God these "reviews" are so superficial.
"Yeah...it's powerful."
"Uh...doesn't turn in good."
Awesome. Where the hell did you people get hired from, McDonalds?

Funny... right when the guy says "I fealt like the front end was really heavy..." at 1:34 the rider pops a wheelie.

Is this a good bike for riding all day, or long cruises? Is it extremely comfortable?
FindlaySucks 2 years ago
My question is to people that actually own one and ride it every day, not to someone that spent a few hours playing with it.
FindlaySucks 2 years ago
I am 6'3" and own this bike for 1.5 years.. put 22000 miles on it.
what I need for long day rides,
- an after market tall windshield
- probably a corbin seat ( the stock one is ok too )
- heated gloves or grips in case of very low degrees..
- cruise control or a simple cramp buster..
- rear trunk with a rest pad for my passenger.
It rides very smooth, powerful even at low rpm . comfortable as a sport touring could be..
handles perfect especially with michelin PR2s. ( I hated the bridgestones )

What's with putting the foot down in the corner after the short wheelie? That ain't dirt you're riding on, son!

I like how they synched a shot of the C-14 raising it's front wheel with the comment the bike's "front wheel felt very heavy"...
LOL.
I've owned one for 9 months now and have found the Concours-14 is definitely a "thrill ride"
