Interesting how we can't see any 'fatties' in the photo. If that was a palagi college I'm sure there would be a few 'guts' hanging over the belts...CHOOHOO! Back in the day Avele college was tough as nails. No mucking around and if you stepped over the line you would soon regret it! Awesome singing too from the all boys college back then. I wonder what it's like now?
Its probably not the same anymore, as the atmosphere and the environment now is quite different, outside influences are pretty much accepted into our shores..the last time I was there last year there was quite a big change in life styles and everything for that matter. Your dad was a champion 100m,200m and 400m sprinter for our school those days. He was fast......We used to camp and train together at the school for inter school athletics.He used to live on campus with his sister who was married to one of the teacher named Apelu.The school called him the Afro kid because of his Afro hair style.

Avataute, malo le fetufatufaa'i. My Dad (Polo Samani Pulepule) attended Avele 1945-1948 then went to Malua Fou. I believe that this begining is what made him the man that he is today. When I played this song for him I saw the expression on his face of all good memories as he shared them with us kids. God Bless you!!
