I have one also , but im wondering if there is anything I can do about how jumpy the video is . I actually want to return it today. The video quality is great but when moving around you notice how jumpy the video gets.. and the video format thing , is another problem to deal with when trying to save the files and play back on a PC.
Honestly, I know exactly what you had to deal with and yet, I have been figuring out what works and what doesn't and I think that it is one of the best camcorders for the price I have seen in a while. It honestly depends on what video player you are using and then again on how you render it. It may take a little longer to render the file but it is worth it cause the quality is superb. It even works excellent in auto mode and from experience other camcorders out there don't work well in manual.
This camera saves it as a native .mts file. which i believe you can rename and it's a .mod file but renaming it, i hear, takes out aspect ratio information (haven't confirmed this). Sony Vegas imports .mts files and i don't have to do anything to them. The manual says it's MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, UXP mode is VBR @ 24Mbps which is pretty amazing. Audio is 48 kHz, 256 kbps. Hope that helps.
can you play .mts videos in media player classic or another media player without editing? how big is this file, in minutes/megabytes?
i am considering to buy a hd320 when it came to the stores here. i have a mg275, and with a hd320 i could use the same data battery that i already have.
thank you. very awesome quality video, that is what i am looking for.
need just a Glidecam stabilizer and it ROCKS !!!
