Wow Stevie Wonder wrote this song? Figures. Well, if anyone could have ever done it justice it was Chaka Khan. She was and IS a radiant supernova of funk and beauty. Big ups to the guys of Rufus too. Much love.
Loved Rufus & Chaka! Also, always liked the fact the EVERY performance on Burt Sugarman's "Midnight Special" was actually "LIVE". Ah...the good ol' days.....
Remember when television was actually worth watching? One day a producer will figure that out and real television will return. Sure Austin City Limits and other good programs are still around but not too many. I want some real TV again. I miss stuff like this.
I experienced this great performance of Rufus and Chaka in Tallahassee,Fl at The Hilton Hotel in 1971 before they were really known...Still feel this in my bones..Chaka is still awesome!!!
What a Groove, What...A...Groove, This whole band was "Awesome" and this performance shows that, Love the way the drummer gives it that "Bonham" feel, Chaka Kahn is the "Total Package", Cute how at 1:15 she checks the time, Rock on Rufus & Chaka Kahn!.
The 70's fashion was skinny and tight fitting clothes in the crotch, and cut-off shorts just below the bottom of the draws. ROFL. It was a time of denial of the late 60's. We were NOT the siblings of the free-loving flower hippies. ROFL. Look all you want, baby, but please do not touch.

A natural beauty from her toes to her seams in the middle to her lips. If she came out today someone would have told her to get a nose job.

Holy smokes! Chaka, I just want to know one thing. Did they name you after fire because there wasn't a word for 'electricity' . . .at the time?
